Greetings.
Actually a good Question/Topic.
First of all LiF is an early Access Title in Alpha Phase.
The whole first "Hype" wave about LiF is over. Take a look here.
Between the end of September and beginning of Oktober there were
almost 7.9k People Playing. It dropped now to 1,5k-2k. https://steamdb.info/app/290080/graphs/
Thats usually pretty normal for a new Game in this Stage.
Secondly , how to Improve the overall activity?
I think the Community Manager(?) stephaxil is doing a great Job
on that end lately. So Things Like:
* Contest's
* Event's
* More Information's from the Dev's
* New Content / Patches
* Creativity from the Community(Mod's, Videos/Art, etc.)
I Personally would wish for an Dev Blog.
Where you can see what exactly are they working on right now
whats the current priority , how far are they etc.
You used Rust as an Example , so will i.

The Rest is just a matter of time. The further the Game progresses
Content & Feature Wise , the more there is to talk about and the bigger
The Player base & Community will be.
Thats just my 2 Cents on that Topic.

I stumbled on this site: http://isthereanydeal.com/ It pointed me toward a good deal. As a follow up, I haven't really been playing much, but that may be because all my IRL friends are playing other games and I always choose playing games with friends over playing alone.
The community in the Aus/NZ servers are pretty hit and miss. There are players who came straight from RUST and want nothing more than to troll towns and make life hard.
But on the whole everyone wants to test the limits of the game and build mighty forts.
In terms of building with a village, it's generally a matter of walking up to a fort and asking if they need a hand. Most will accept new members. Might need teamspeak and a mic though.
Also, you can save $10 if you grab the game from here. https://www.indiegala.com/epics
To save something in a file you can use saveStrings(), you only have to convert the selections made by the user into a string and save it in a file. To load a configuration you have to use loadStrings() and convert the string back into a format that the program can use. Here are the links, good luck with this useful application ;)

You should be able to download the spreadsheet that was posted as an Excel file and arrange it to fit onto one page, then print it out.
If you don't have Excel, you can download OpenOffice for free, and do the same.
In The Art of War: Are You Worthy? (Hardcore PvP/ BASILMOD) NEW: 5.1.16 ... we believe that KOS should be legal and not banned from game... If you plan to KOS someone then you should be prepared to get killed too, sometimes the KOS'er becomes the Victim! If you have grudges instead of crying out like a carebear, settle it with War or Combat in the Arena/Coliseum...
Looking for a server that is Hardcore PvP with Legal KOS and with absolutely no time for Carebears... Come check out: The Art of War: Are You Worthy? (Hardcore PvP/ BASILMOD) NEW: 5.1.16.... Our rules are simple, detailed (just so there is no misunderstanding), but simple... The name of the game says it all Life is Feudal, then why the need to Ban KOS or PvP... In RL you can get KoS'ed at anytime and the only limit of your skills is the effort you put in it... Same is with this server...
If you use Android, you can try our pro audio app - it includes these voices: Effects:
Volume
3-band Equalizer
Pitch
Voice Changer:
Dark Father - not affiliated with Darth Vader or Star Wars
Rylo Ken - not affiliated with Kylo Ren or Star Wars
Dane - not affiliated with Bane or The Dark Knight Rises movie
Exterminator - not affiliated with Dalek or the BBC
Space Trooper - not affiliated with Stormtroopers or Star Wars (this one will be improved in the next update)
Captain Phase - not affiliated with Captain Phasma or Star Wars
The app link is here
Just plug in a male-to-male cable to the phone jack, and the other end goes into the gaming hardware mic jack - just remember to keep volume very low initially (so you don't blow anything out with loud volume).
Now after jack is plugged into phone, pressing Record in the app will echo the recorded audio to the output as well.
Click Effects - Voice Changer and pick from the effects. Or just use the Effects - Pitch (which is free) - or the Equalizer.
Let me know if you have issues.
