Considering that the application is developed and maintained by one person and is not monetised, do not expect this to happen any time soon (if at all).
Developing the application for iOS alongside Android comes with its own costs and challenges: * Cost of hardware if not already owned * Learning how to use new hardware, operating system, and development software to the point of sufficiency * Maintaining said hardware, operating system, and development software * Learning a new programming language and a new design paradigm to the point of sufficiency * Designing, programming, testing, and releasing LifeRPG on iOS * Maintaining, and improving LifeRPG on both Android and iOS at the same level
It would be great to have it on both platforms. Sadly with the higher barrier of entry (even with tonymacx86.com existing), this may not happen. We can definitely dream, however.
> And do you think it is possible to implement a timer for when a window is active? For example I set the goal to draw for at least one hour per day, if the Photoshop window is active - collect time and work towards the goal?
Interesting you should mention that. I've been developing and using a separate app for tracking time spent working on skills. It might be a good idea to just integrate it into LifeRPG for others to use, and then also add that window/program detection you mention.
>Ah I am working on learning Java and android programming myself, coursera is offering a course on that. https://www.coursera.org/course/android[1] - gonna use this once it is available. Seems like a sweet source to learn.
Cool, I signed up for that too! Looking forward to it as well.
This is the LifeRPG Template that I have been working on... I've tried mixing together everything that I could from Skyrim, gaming, old-school RPG and platform games, and realistically reflect a take on modern life.
Im not advertising here, but i think that 'Habitica' is what you are searching.
It's nearly the same as LifeRPG, except with more social capabilities.
Can be played on Android and in your browser.
FYI: I had good luck transferring the app via Helium: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup&hl=en
You have to use connect your phone to a computer to enable it for some reason, but I was able to transfer the actual files via Google Drive (plus some file manager trickery).
