There should be a kickstarter to buy this album so then we can release it on thepiratebay.
Edit: /u/whypinto made an IndieGogo campaign, link here, if any of you guys are interested.
Hey man, I saw this post and love your spirit.
I'm no Geno Smith, but if you're interested in Jets autographs, I can offer you mine. Email me your name and address and I'll send something out to you. Email me at . Thanks for being a great Jets fan, and I hope you're excited for next season like we all are!
Hey everyone. I didn't think this would take off like this. Thank you all so much for your kind words and emails. A lot of you are asking for your own autographs- which I'd love to give out, but I just don't have the time!
My IndieGoGo campaign is ending soon and we haven't reached our goal yet. If you guys could help me spread the word, or even donate just a couple of bucks, I would appreciate it more than you'd know.
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/house-the-vision
Also, if anyone is interested is coming with me and my brothers to Haiti, email me at and I'll give you the details. Pass this along too. The more people that have their lives touched by these kids, the better.
Sorry if any of this sounds like I'm politicing! I'm just trying to get the word out! Thank you all again. Go Jets!
lenz's law. there was this funny video from a sad indiegogo made by those crazy newage hippies. claiming they created a quantum generator to create free energy. they used this as part of their video to shock and awe other hippies. raised 20k i believe.

Hi - You should set up some sort of server for his Minecraft! I am sure there are plenty of people including myself who would quite happily play minecraft with him. I know I would certainly play with him
EDIT: You can visit the dedicated server campaign here: http://www.indiegogo.com/bubblecloner - $3000 should be enough to afford twelve-month dedicated server. Once fyflate89 contacts me directly, I will hand over all ownership.
FyFlate89 is now an admin for this campaign

John is my friend IRL and its really shitty that he lost his pinky and as you can imagine, that on top of that, it's super shitty that all this comes with ridiculous medical expenses (surgeries, ambulance rides to get to different hospitals, rehabilitation in the future, etc).
On his facebook, he posted a link to his fund raiser to help him with his medical costs now and in the future. So far there is $3,487 pledged from friends/family but that only goes so far.

I've been on reddit for four years, but this is the first time I've seen a friend top of /r/wtf and its a pretty crazy situation. If you've been following this story and have means to help him, he is the type of person that doesn't deserve this to happen to him, but deserves the help.
I'll head out to Agway shortly and hopefully deliver.
Why not - New Year New Trees.

I am not a fan of it, either.
But instead of posting stuff like this to dA, Reddit or cheezburger.com (fucking seriously!?), comment your displeasure to the ad team themselves so they can weigh in the fact that there are facets of the fandom that don't agree with this.
If you really have an issue with it, voice your opinion. Do not resort to slacktivism.

Wow. Thanks to everyone! This is pretty mind blowing.
Also big thanks to the /r/games mods for their patience with my complete ignorance of proper reddiquette.
Just unlocked a new tier. So people can now get their cat or dog in the game! Hopefully we wont end up with too many space chihuahuas!

Dear M. Luczak, and Colbertweb Webmaster,
There is a developing situation that might be of interest to Team Colbert and the Colbert Nation.
http://theoatmeal.com/blog/funnyjunk_letter best describes what is happening. Essentially, it is an alleged copyright infringer threatening to sue the copyright holder for publishing a blog post complaining about stolen material.
As you may know, litigation by infringers against copyright owners is not uncommon: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/violetblue/jay-leno-uses-indie-youtube-video-nbc-gets-it-taken-down/1350 documents how The Jay Leno Show appropriated an independent video, broadcast it, then via the NBC lawyers used the DMCA hammer on YouTube to have the video removed.
Why is this relevant to the Colbert Nation? Bears. The copyright holder has raised over $100,000.00 in donations for the National Wildlife Federation and the American Cancer Society. (source: http://www.indiegogo.com/bearlovegood )
Regards, A citizen and loyal patriot of the Colbert Nation
We've actually got a campaign up to help us tackle dog fighting and abandoned dogs in the poorer parts of the community in South Africa. If you think this video is bad, you must see some of the aftermath we've seen in Cape Town. The campaign isn't getting much traction, unfortunately, but we're trying:)
and even more proud that you didn't mention that you have a funding drive going. Here's the IndieGoGo page for donations to help make more devices for people with disabilities. (I've just donated)
OP, why didn't you mention your fundraising drive on IndieGoGo? You know we redditors can help out such a worthy cause.
You should put this in your top comment for visibility!
I believe you could get some serious funding for expansion if you tried, and be able to help a lot more people. A lot of redditors here would probably like to help, but donating to a flat donation-page like that feels like dumping cash through a hole in a blank wall.
A site like http://www.indiegogo.com/ would probably help you a lot more. Seeing that number go up through collaborate support incites a lot more people to help.
Here's a recent example that got popular on reddit: http://www.indiegogo.com/loveforkarenhklein
Thank you for helping those poor, unfortunate people who were falsely convicted. Nothing makes me sadder than such blatant injustice. What you're doing is marvellous.
Aaaand the campaign is already fully funded.
There should only be one aggregator website out there to help people find OC generators and politely link to them. And we're on it right now. All the others should burn.
Since it's in a small link in the Youtube video, and I think that this could use our support, here's the direct link to the IndieGoGo page: http://www.indiegogo.com/Solar-system-educational-program
The only other information I could find (other than the video's description), is an indiegogo campaign by his former boyfriend Chris Tanner.
Unfortunately it doesn't have very much information about Steve Lott himself.
Hey Eduardo,
I'm a film student and a huge fan! I loved Blair Witch, especially the trickery in your ad campaign, pretty brilliant.
Some close friends and I got together this summer and filmed our first ever feature film, The Sigil, based slightly on the first-person horror genre you inspired.
The film blends first person camera work with classical third person cinematography, and tells the story of a girl who travels to CA to find out how her big brother really died. We just got into our first festival, the LA Fear and Fantasy Festival and it's premiering next week!
It would mean so much to us if you could watch the trailer and give us your thoughts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWfMhRgi_hw
Comments from other redditors would also be awesome!
Good luck with whatever you are working on next, can't wait to see it. Thanks!!
EDIT: Hey everyone, thanks for all the support! Great to hear we've already got people interested in seeing the film. A bunch of people asked about an online screening, so if you'd like to see the film AND also help a bunch of film kids achieve their dreams :) you should check out our indiegogo campaign: http://www.indiegogo.com/TheSigil
For $5 you can get a digital download of the film and that money will help us submit to more festivals where our chances of getting film bought up for distribution are higher than anywhere else!
Thanks in advance, you guys are the best!
From the Blog:
"TL;DR: reddit is launching a bus tour through the Midwest to campaign for the Open Internet. Be a part of it by contributing HERE, and subscribing to /r/internet2012."
http://www.indiegogo.com/Indie-game-Mr-Elastic For those wondering.
I think I played it. I felt that the controls didn't work for me. It was too hard to get around. As a result, I didn't get far and gave up pretty quickly.
Even if I had, I wasn't sure it was going anywhere. In the little I played, I felt that the mechanic had been explored fully, and didn't care to continue.
As for recommendations for the future, get non-friends to play it as soon as possible. And while you're playing it yourself, try to separate the feelings of joy from creating it from the feelings you get from actually playing it.
And finally, about the campaign: "Flexible Funding campaign" - Will not fund. This kind of campaign is 100% anti-backer, and should never be chosen for a product with deliverables. If you can't determine how much money you need to complete the project, don't start a campaign. If you do know, set that as your target. But if you don't get that much, you shouldn't be taking anyone's money, because it means you're going to fail.
And if you don't need any money to finish, which you apparently didn't, then you shouldn't be starting a campaign in the first place. You should just be selling the game.
Private companies can do whatever the hell they want. That's what "private" means. Unless the contract explicitly states that they will never filter your traffic (which I highly doubt), there's nothing illegal at all about this.
edit:
If you are opposed to these practices, there is unfortunately no large ISP that you can go to. AT&T, Comcast, etc., they're all likely to have similar deals. However, Calyx is attempting to become the first large-scale privacy-first ISP, which will protect your privacy (and your data) above all else. Their method is to anonymize the traffic such that they will be unable to tell where it came from or what it contains, such that they can't be forced to give up that information (say, to the FBI). This means they also won't be able to filter your traffic based on what you're trying to access, to they're inherently unable to censor your internet. They have the support of the ACLU and the EFF, and are trying to raise funds. If this interests you (as it should, and everyone else disgusted by this post), you should donate to their fundraising project and spread the word.
A lot of people like to say we won't need net neutrality because eventually someone will make a company that will protect user data and keep network traffic equal. THIS IS THAT COMPANY. The internet likes to say they support free internet. It's time for us to put our money where our mouths are. If we can raise millions of dollars for prospective video games in a matter of weeks, we should be able to raise one million for a future of free internet.
So is this for a vacation? or a house...?
And who gave permission to 'Max' to collect these funds for her?
Edit: get a load of this: http://www.indiegogo.com/love-for-max-too?c=home
The guys come about his own page and has managed to score a nice 5k off this all.
Yes.

Are you kidding? For the first free market response to the stasi-fication of US telecoms, you sir, get all my monies.
Seriously. How do I invest?
Edit: I just hit up the Calyx Institute Indiegogo page and handed over my monies. My people, it is time to pony up.
Okay team - I guess I have an obligation now.
I've been looking into the price of seeds for trees and have had mixed discoveries. Regardless, 2000 trees cost a lot of money. I'm thinking about starting some sort of crowd funding source to begin fundraising to purchase seeds or donate to the professionals.
TL;DR: Trees Cost Money. Crowdfunding.
Edit 1: Here is my attempt at delivering. New Year - New Trees
Great question. As an engineering student, it always irks me when politics demonizes emerging technologies because they are "scary" or perceived as too dangerous. For historical reference, AC power was demonized by Edison because it would compete with his beloved DC. Nowadays AC is ubiquitous in electric power transmission.
Also, Tesla! (http://www.indiegogo.com/teslamuseum)
I feel like there is a truly terrifying twist on this that somehow got buried. Peterson was denied SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council) funding this year basically because they felt is project had no merit (some old tired Jungian personality nonsense), so Rebel Media crowdfunded almost $200,000 for academic research that didn't qualify for traditional funding. Rebel Media. Funding academic research. What a horrifying precedent.
From the TOS for "indiegogo":
>You may not use the Service for activities that: [...] (c) are associated with purchases of real property,[...]
(emphasis added)
IANAL But wouldn't this be a problem?
Also worth noticing (not that I don't trust you OP, but it's good to know these things.):
> You understand that making a Contribution to a Project does not give you any rights in or to that Project, including without limitation any ownership, control, or distribution rights, and that the Project Entity shall be free to solicit other funding for the Project, enter into contracts for the Project, allocate rights in or to the Project, and otherwise direct the Project in its sole discretion.
I tried to make a comment on the project page as well but it didn't show up... It basically said this:
>How will the money be used if "we" are unable to buy the city in question? >May I suggest (as many did in the original thread) a donation to NORML? > >How will you verify the identity of the people that have donated? >Also a link to the original thread in the description might be nice. >I'll gladly throw (a small amount of) money at this if these questions are answered!
Yup, here it is. Someone even tried to make a fundraiser for the guy who made a fundraiser for the guy who made a fundraiser for Karen Klein... but it got shut down, thankfully.
We always need help managing submitted data, such as mapping spots and running pattern recognition scans, which can be done from home. If you have an educational, project management, or software development background, we really need help. We run whaleshark.org on several thousand dollars a year...that's right: global-scale research on a few dollars a day. We are really short on resources but manage to accomplish quite a bit any way. But we always need help.
For those of you who can't volunteer, please consider a donation to our social media for wildlife project: Wild Me

If you are interested in the things above that I have said, please email
THANK YOU! Jason
I don't remember ever hearing about it either.
Even having an indiedb page, or posting major updates to Reddit would do wonders.
Also, if you've given up on selling it, release it on Github as an open source project. It'll be effectively giving up on any monetary compensation, but it'll allow you to gain some indie cred, some popularity amongst linux users, and potential for your art to become a cult hit.
Do you even have a video of it available, OP?
EDIT: I think I found you, is this you? http://www.indiegogo.com/Indie-game-Mr-Elastic
If so, you have a typo in the main description...
Artist: www.opengameart.org
Music: www.jamendo.com + www.opengameart.org
I'm sorry you didn't get any funding, though :( I would've pitched in a few bucks had I known that it existed, assuming cross-platform compatibility--more if it were planned to be open source.
I very well may be over my head in this, but I decided to create a indiegogo page as many people suggested. One of many things I thought when watching this was "wow, so many people helped out Karen Klein the bus monitor but I bet no one hears this guy's story." Not to put down Karen, but this man deserves it more. This may not work, but I figured trying this out couldn't hurt.
I get that $5,000 doesn't in the context of this man's bills and suffering is not much. I figured I would set the goal low and hopefully surpass it.
I'm still in the process of editing the write ups. If you have any suggestions please tell me. I have no information on this man, which is understandably going to deter people from donating. PLEASE if you find out anything, let me know.
upvote so this can be seen?
tl;dr I made an indiegogo page http://www.indiegogo.com/dontdrinkanddrive
> I feel like that would kill your eyes though, especially someone as young as her.
I think you're being downvoted because some might see you as a fear-monger, but there are very real possibilities to inflict long-term damage to young kids through irresponsible use, and I'm saying this as a giddy VR fanboy. But just quickly wearing it isn't going to do anything lasting.
There's no doubt that your brain develops your eyesight based on feedback in an early stage, and I don't think it's something to be mocked that this could be disturbed by the use of virtual reality. Especially the accommodation reflex seems a likely candidate for confusion.
Light hitting you through the current and next several generation of VR glasses will be collimated (ie. your eyes focus at infinity), whether it's right in front of you or at the horizon. I would be surprised if the accommodation reflex wasn't weakened by extensive early-childhood use. That's completely different from just testing it, of course.
I didn't see so good on my left eye and didn't get glasses until I was like 5 years old. Now I have very poor depth perception which has traditionally been considered incurable - ironically I'm going to be using VR to see if I can do something about that.
Here's hoping the fundraising effort for her vacation lets her retire for good.
She damn well deserves a hell of a lot of peace, quiet, and happiness.
As a break from politics (as entertaining as that is atm), some of you might be interested to hear a group of filmmakers up in Brisbane (including myself) are turning Reddit's highest rated content of all time, an Australian urban legend called The Bus Knight, into a short film.

Hi there,
I wanted to make a contribution too and couldn't find anywhere here so I created an Indiegogo page for Steven.
http://www.indiegogo.com/givestevenahug
I live in New York and am available tomorrow so I'll get in contact with Steven and let him know how we're trying to help.
I'm not quite sure how I can show that this is legit, maybe I'll make a video tomorrow with Steven when I get in contact with him. I 'm relatively new to Indiegogo, so if anyone could offer some help or suggestions, it'll be much appreciated.
Hope that we can raise a meaningful amount.
Cheers, Michael
They made a mistake naming the new game the exact same thing as the old game. That's just going to confuse people. If you want to keep the name, well, that's why people add subtitles or the number 2.
For those interested in this, here's the indiegogo page.
So, a little explanation.
A while back, a couple of friends of mine decided that what this world was lacking was a steampunk storytelling act. Ok, maybe those already exist. So what this world really lacked was them telling steampunk storytelling music. And what they were lacking was an audience. So, in a haze of cheap tobacco and cheaper whiskey they gathered the rest of the band and myself, and thusly The Mechanisms were born.
We've been around for a while now, but now that we're gearing up to taking our act to the Edinburgh festival, we decided a photoshoot was in order, and, well. I decided that you guys might like to ogle our be-punked forms. True or false?
Now, I'm going to have to go for the petty merchandising or the rest of the band will lynch me for preening on the internet without cause. While we do have a bunch of music online already (see above), but we currently have about a week left on our crowdfunding page to produce our first full act in pristine compact disc form - Once Upon a Time (in Space). Now, admittedly, we're currently well overfunded (yay!), but a little while back we decided to get everything done really professionally, rather than just through friends and favours, so we're trying to recoup that. Though, full disclosure, we'll probably be offering everything on there for pay what you like on our blog when we're done anyway. So do what you like :D .
Anyway, I should really get back to studying for finals.
Steampunk dreams!
I love the idea of this film and want it to be finished, but is it just me or do people who use this site for donations usually put in perks that aren't quite so lazy?
>Bronze: $25
>Personal thank you message from the director of the film. Actually personal, not just a form email sent automatically right after you donate, a real legit email thank you written and send to you.
Seriously? If somehow they made the entire amount out of just $25 donations that would be 400 emails. That's a shitload of emails, but I would happily write 400 emails for ten grand.
And for $100 you get mentioned in a Facebook post? Seriously?
For an example, the Trailer Park Boys guys are making a movie as well. Their perks include:
$10 - Mentioned in a Facebook post and they email you autographed photo. Already getting more than the $100 of the other campaign.
$100 - They will run an ad for your business. Plus the autographed photo.
$300 - You get your name in the credits of the movie.
$500 - They will say your fucking name in the movie. Seriously.
I know one is a documentary and the other is a comedy, one is about a heart-wrenching tale and the other is about drunk rednecks, but there's still something to be said for actually trying while raising money.
Effort. It counts.
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/journey-to-haifa-documentary
"Baha'i is a great and progressive religion until when I found out that it does not tolerate gay people. I find this a problem and consider this as a personal battle. There are a lot of gay Baha'is out there and this is my way of giving them hope."
Nawruz Paguidopon, film maker, and author of above quote seems to misunderstand baha'i guidance on homosexuality. I personally am getting a little tired of homosexuality becoming some kind of metric for "progression", because reducing entire religions into skewed dichotomies like that misses the point of faith completely.
He wants to go to Haifa, I wish him all the best, pilgrimage is a wonderful experience. He will find lots of very friendly people, baha'is and otherwise, and none of them will care that he is gay. The one thing he will not find is the kind of controversy he is looking for.
My partner and I have had copies from launch and have been following the whole farce since the start. Personally i have completely given up on the idea of ever playing this game as Endless Space is proving itself to more entertaining and less frustrating, while retaining many of the features that made the original Sword of the Stars worth playing.
That said, my partner has pretty much been running SotS II for the last three weeks solid and the general report is that it is now in a release state and for the most part playable. There are still numerous bugs and the game in no way seeks to explain itself, however, it is possible to play and enjoy provided you have the wiki on another screen and a lot of patiences (there is still a big slow down issue).
I can't recommend Sword of the Stars II at the moment, in a couple of years time it will probably be worth picking up but until then the original is worth a play, or alternatively Endless Space.
Edit: Forgot to add, I'm sure the timing of this announcement has absolutely nothing to do with Kerberos' new indiegogo project and is all about the game being considered complete: http://www.indiegogo.com/sots-thepit
There was an indiegogo campaign to show a version of our "We are the Explorers video in theaters before showings of "Star Trek Into Darkness". - SMT
Hello, everyone. I wrote the tune that was used in the video; Hueypriest contacted me a couple weeks back and asked if Reddit could use it.
My personal opinion on the issue is a strong one: a free internet is a powerful internet. No tool distributes information, encourages collaboration, or protects the basic mental interests of humanity like this one.
I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of it.
If you like the song, please download it for free... I'd like to think that it'll remind you of a watershed moment for bipartisan support of freedom of information.
Oh, and feel free to pirate the hell out of it. =)

So I guess I singlehandedly got a crowdfunding campaign shut down? Sick.
This quote was part of the inspiration for the Wild Me social media project we are undertaking, trying to find a way to tell the stories of these animals and their lives as collected and assembled through scientific research:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wild-me-bringing-wildlife-into-social-media/x/5776235
I'd be pretty pissed at Yahoo for the report. It seems to say "Look at this fuckin' weirdo!" It really doesn't help his case when really it's easy enough to look around and ask neighbors "How do you know these creatures are coming from his yard?"
You could start an IndyGoGo page for him and pass the link around. At bare minimum you can help him defray some of his legal costs.
You can find out how to donate here.
I really, really hope this happens. I just miss Pure Pwnage so much and it would be great for them to make a movie. Spread the word guys!
Edit: I've also made a submission on /r/gaming.
It'd be great if everyone here could upvote that and maybe leave a comment to try and give it as much chance as possible of getting a lot of attention.
CRAZY STORY: Two of my Best friends went on a ridiculous Journey this summer to find Morgan Freeman and get him to Narrate their graduation film project for them. They are making a documentary called Narrated By Morgan Freeman which is about their quest to to find Morgan Freeman and get him to narrate their film.
They Flew from Vancouver to Mississippi then drove to LA, got a whole bunch of press, raised a bunch of money on Indiegogo and have put enough pressure on Morgan Freeman's agent that he's agreed to watch their documentary.
Click the link if you want to know more about their journey and help convince Morgan!

Good question! The Hemp Box actually has no THC in it, it's just cool hemp stuff that we run across. Legal in all 50 states. Check out our Indiegogo page for more info.
This is by far my Favorite ROM for the GT-I9100. AOSP or AOKP look/feel merged with TW framework so you can use samsung or AOSP software. Give it a try and if you like it you can help support for the Upcoming JB version.

The Developer was playing around with the leak and confirmed it is possible to do. I will post screenshots.
Oh, there's a tiny little detail that makes it even worse.
So our friend JBP applied for five years of SSHRC funding to research some nonsense about personality tests, basically. The funds he applied for totalled almost $400,000.00. This spring, SSHRC reviewers ranked the quality of his application so academically inadequate that he got nothing. Seems pretty straightforward, yes?
Oh no. JBP and his cronies, including the National Post, are calling conspiracy, that SSHRC pulled funding over the pronoun debate. Two problems:
And where does it get worse? The fucking Rebel started to crowdfund the research project on behalf of the poor victim of political correctness. Meaning a right-wing, neo-Nazi supporting, morally bankrupt organization wants to fund actual research at U of T. Here's the Indigogo campaign.
And if you want another example of how academically fucked up U of T is right now, JBP hosts his class information on his personal website...where he's shilling for Patreon dollars, driving viewers to his Youtube channel, selling his books, and everything else.
No. She is still conducting her operation, but I assume it's going to take longer than initially planned because of the extra resources. She went underground for a bit because of the numerous death threats she was getting.
As for this guy who is making her videos, he has nothing to do with her.
He sounds like this guy:
http://www.indiegogo.com/misandryinvideogames
If you notice, the youtube guy also has a link to feminists not allowed on a comic con panel, which is a video made by a mens rights activist. The whole video linked here is from the perspective of mens rights. It has nothing to do with her.
If you believe that this guy is making videos for her, or that she approves of the messages in his videos, you are all easily trolled and 4chan wins the game.
For those of you browsing the comments section pay attention as this is related and important. Reddit's very own Alexis Ohanian (Co-Founder) along with various Reddit staff are running a Midwest bus tour called the "Internet 2012 Bus Tour" to raise awareness about the importance of an "open internet" during the presidential debates. Their bus tour begins in October. It starts in Denver, CO and ends in Danville, KY.
In order to force both parties' hands on reforming copyright and patent laws we will have to make a big deal about these issues by supporting public awareness campaigns such as Reddit's Internet 2012 Bus Tour.
As you must have read over here, you should know that they are out there focusing on portraying the brony fandom positively.
"The secondary goal will be to put a positive image of the Brony community into the culture. The intent is to choose representative bronies for the ad who run in the face of the brony stereotype. So, for example, we'd love to have an active-duty brony stationed overseas read one of the thank-yous, or a doctor, or a businesswoman behind a desk. The underlying message is that bronies are everywhere, everycolor and sex, in every walk of life."
Being that you are all a bunch of awesome purveyors of Science, have you guys seen, agreed with, donated & or appreciative of the effort to build a Tesla museum?
Thank you ALL, for everything you do. SCIENCE!!!
Animal rights activist Kevin Olliff has recently lost 13 pounds since being moved to a new prison. He has a vegan diet that is not being respected. Support him if you can

EDIT: words
I really, really, hope this comes together. I just miss Pure Pwnage so much, it really was such a major part of my childhood.
To help get this project off the ground, you can go here to find out how to donate.
Spread the word!!
WTF? Dude wants $7000 to "save" this site?
I'm guessing it costs him $50 a year, tops, to run that site.
EDIT: I can't say for sure, but the translations seem pretty shotty, too.
This film is not yet made. It needs adequate funding and exposure. If you want to see the film try to donate to their Indiegogo page.
Also here is their website.
I'm totally jazzed for the C3 (Comfy Commuter Car) (http://www.indiegogo.com/C3) too! Our prototypes are rough-and-tumble. To get to the C3 we need hundreds of hours of FEA (finite element analysis) to simulate stresses and impacats on different ultra-light chassis with doors. Our SGT01 prototypes that we sell now require you to step over the sides and sit down in like a real race-car- great for light weight with side impact protection but impractical for many types of commuters. To evolve past that, we need a lot of FEA time. Send FEA grad students are way! (email !)
I almost don't want to link to it in case it encourages more people to mindlessly hand over their money but...

tl;dw old woman gets called fat for 10 minutes. Internet decides to give her 640 grand for a vacation
I swear I'm white and even I hate white people..
Sorry, but its true.
The more I look into this character, the more he looks like a self-serving scam artist.
His claims about being the "2nd highest ranking civilian in the Marines" are also probably nonsense as well.
Who knows if anything he says is true. Regardless though, if he actually cares about the movement or this proposal he is hawking, he would step back right now and let other people take care of it. If it really is a good idea, it will spread on its own. Unfortunately it looks like he is trying to drum up donations for himself and has collected $580 so far.
Its interesting that he refuses to answer any of the 9/11 questions also.
http://www.indiegogo.com/ElectoralReform-BigBatUSA-for-OWS
There is his donation page. Notice he is kindly offering to run for President as the OWS candidate.
Worst thing is how the blog-commenter kids will spread the myth of people being anti-change/anti-innovation for hating the jump to FPS. When, in fact, doing something resembling more classic Syndicate style gameplay in today's gaming landscape would be a million times more daring and fresh than re-hashing the past years' tried and true FPS trends.
Oh my, windmills. I still got my indie games scene.
Yeah! From the campaign page:
>EDIT: > >If $16,000 is reached, the scope of the "big compiler lock" in SBCL will be curtailed, so that it will be possible to compile things in parallel. Should that goal not be reached, funds over $12k will be split between work leading towards it and general SBCL work.
There is currently a documentary on the American jungle scene in the works. From my interaction with these guys over the internet, they seem to be really cool. They are traveling all around the country over the next few months capturing the jungle scene as it exists today. I'm sure they will be hitting up the north east so keep an ear out.
I just contacted Indiegogo complaining that her campaign violates their T.O.S.:
>Campaign Owners are not permitted to create a Campaign to raise funds for illegal activities.
She is clearly in violation, as the funds are to further her illegal campaign to undermine her office and the law of the land. If I hear anything back, I'll update.
Edit: Got a response from Indiegogo:
>Hi there,
>Thank you for checking in about this campaign. At this time, the campaign, ‘Kim Davis Rowan County Court Clerk’, is under review to ensure that it adheres to our Terms of Use (http://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms).
>So what happens now? We will include the information you have provided along with all other information at our disposal in our review of the campaign. In some cases, we will contact the campaign owner for more information or have them edit their campaign and it will remain on our platform. Not sure what they'll eventually do - but I'm glad they're at least considering yanking it. Pretty controversial either way for them.
Guys, we have exclusive Indiegogo perks that will only be available for the AMA. A onesie, a children's t-shirt, just the vinyl, and the best deal of our whole campaign: Vinyl, T-shirt, CD, and Hoodie for only 80 bucks. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/project-86-new-album-and-acoustic-ep/x/6354114
It is not coincidence. Microwave was allocated first. for cooking. The frequency (coincide with water vibration) naturally was considered too noisy afterward and useless for communication purposes.
Until modern wifi, which was looking for communication in non licensed frequency. And cooking microwave it is.
http://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/14zx3s/why_do_microwave_ovens_and_wireless_routers/
history of frequency allocation for microwave oven.
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/why-2-4ghz-chasing-wireless-history
In the proceedings of the 1947 Atlantic city ITU conference, the US representative specifically requests that 2450mc (megacycles) +- 50mc be allocated for ISM use.
From the proceedings: "The delegate of the United States, referring to his request that the frequency 2450 Mc/s be allotted for I.S.M., indicated that there was in existence in the United States, and working on this frequency a diathermy machine and an electronic cooker, and that the latter might eventually be installed in transatlantic ships and aeroplanes. There was therefore some point in attempting to reach world agreement on this subject."
While we're here Peter is an all around bad ass who also has an Indiagogo for his book to bring mycology out of labs and into the hands of normal folk.
I supported him because he does more to inspire citizen scientists than anyone I know.
The cultivation techniques are solid and only exists in scattered forums right now unless you go to a workshop.
It's a worthy cause on both counts.
Well, this is one situation where fox news can proudly say regulation has lost its meaning without bullshitting anyone. I don't know how to respond because the county are being dicks and forgetting the purpose of the law (to protect) while also not prioritizing this as a low risk problem that could go ignored.
She could raise the money needed with something like http://www.indiegogo.com/
Thanks so much for all the job offers folks! Much appreciated. We've already got most key crew positions in place since we're hiring locally (Montreal), but your kind words and generous offers mean a lot.
We do have a small IndieGogo campaign going to cover some of the costs of shooting the project, so if you'd like to support the project that way, you can head over here.
Or you could help spread the word and share the poster with your friends. Everything helps! Thanks again!
There's a lot worth covering in your post. I'll start with safety. We've done offset frontal impact testing and side impact testing with a credentialed crash testing facility (CAPE: http://www.capetesting.com/), and it's about $10k for each test, + the cost of the car, + the cost to get the car there, +the cost to retrieve or recycle the crashed car. We found our seat mounts were terrible and our frontal crush structure was excellent, and our side structure was passable but we could do better. so we updated our seat mounts and iterated our side crush structure. With the funds we've raised on indiegogo (http://www.indiegogo.com/C3) we're jazzed to repeat crash testing- our priority is testing a chassis with lowered side sills to allow traditional doors.
It's complete and total pandering. The "SexyNerdGirl" channel is a written production, and she's acting.
They actually raised money to be able to make the channel here: http://www.indiegogo.com/sexynerdgirl
They had a fundraiser with the goal of reaching $20,000 for production of a full season of Nuka Break. They got over $27,000. I'm proud to be one of the contributors. It's nice to know that my little bit helped make this awesome series possible.
MAKE THIS HAPPEN REDDIT.
Heres a link to the donation site, its on your right.
Heres the movie George Ought to Help.
Nope, there was actually next to zero information on the Indiegogo campaign.
From their Facebook post: >Also, we have had many questions about what we will use the money for and how it will keep us open. We will use the money to pay off some pressing debts and to restock the grocery store. The debts are a result of our failed Kirkwood expansion and the dwindling inventory at the grocery store is a result of paying these debts ongoing for the last many months.
Looks like they have an indiegogo campaign going.
I'm very jealous - it's the type of adventure that everyone wishes to go on when they're young and these guys are making it happen. Getttt iiinnnn, lads!!
I'm a PADI certified rescue diver - please pm me details of who is coordinating the search, and I'll volunteer
Edit: Volunteered - there's probably going to be a large search on Thursday / Friday due to inclement weather until then. Anyone interested in more information can find it on the indiegogo webpage
I've recommended that the Emirates Diving Association and Al Boom Diving be contacted, both of whom have a large member base through whom they may find people willing to contribute time and resources (boats, divers, etc.) to the cause
It's not exact. There are timing issues involved in flash photography. The device is quick enough to trigger it's jamming flash during that interval. Here's the project page which shows the device actually working.
As for the premise, it's great. Traffic laws in general are about mindless obedience to rigid rules that leave no room for common sense. If enforcement was about keeping people safe, cops would be driving around in unmarked cars watching for dangerous drivers - not enforcing magic numbers or quarreling over whether your bumper crossed the white line 1/10 of a second late. The current system is strictly about revenue collection.
Traffic cameras make the laws even more rigid, diverge further from subjectivity or common sense, grow the surveillance state, result in more fines to motorists who aren't harming anybody, dramatically increase the number of citations with virtually no impact on road safety, and invade the privacy of everyone. They must go.
the tranzmission prison project is based out of Asheville NC and it sends books to incarcerated members of the LGBTQ community. Check Em out :)
This has successfully fully funded just a few minutes ago! I fully intend to find a way to connect the two, as one can detect REM (via Theta) and the other can signal to you that you are dreaming. Tough this will take a while to ship. (mid 2013). They also said the Muse headband was designed to be sleept with so perfect!
Perhaps with your help I_Am_Coder...
I posted this on another reply as well but I don't think it will be seen, just in case I deemed it necessary to post here as well, I'm not spamming it, just trying to bring it to the light and help out
Hey guys, I've setup a fundraiser for John (he has stated that he doesn't know how to do so himself, and that the medical bills are about to fuck him so I figured I'd step up to help him out.)
If anyone wants to contribute, you can visit this link:
Not sure if this will be seen or not though, or how many people will actually care but I don't think it could hurt.
This looks quite cool. I guess there will be some people who'll build the whole Enterprise with it and then let Borg attack, just to check how "realistic" some scenes in the movies were. :-D
Here is the indiegogo page where one can support the game financially.
>I doubt this story would have gotten a tenth of the coverage.
Well, consider this - if that were the case, then the story wouldn't have showed that there was actually some validity to the points that the person putting the project together was trying to make.
edit: and yes, "Misandry in Video Games" exists too and is nearly fully funded. And no - its creators aren't being subjected to anywhere near the levels of vitriol that Sarkeesian was.
(personally, I'm hoping it's satire. or /v/ trolling. or something.)
I like how the image says she "overanalyzes" movies. But the misandry-in-videogames kickstarter totally isn't going to do that, right?
And what about Oatmeal, where the comic creator made 20,000 dollars in about an hour, and has made over 176,000 dollars with 8 days left to go?
Oh, wait, no, no. See, the reason that Feminist Frequency got all that money is because she's a woman. The Oatmeal raised all that money because of the publicity he got from the ridiculous situation with FunnyJunk, his work is cool, and his response to it and because he has a lot of fans.
Nice little tl;dr to open the article
>Internet provider Verizon has successfully defended the privacy of several subscribers who were accused of sharing copyrighted material on BitTorrent. The ISP refused to comply with a court-ordered subpoena obtained by book publisher John Wiley and Sons in one of their mass-BitTorrent lawsuits. Initially, Wiley responded to this move by asking the court to compel Verizon to cooperate, but this request and the subpoenas have now been withdrawn.
While it is encouraging to hear that Verizon is "successfully defending the privacy of several subscribers," they are still operating under "privacy by policy;" that is, your stuf is private because we say it is. I would sleep a lot more soundly at night if my ISP practiced privacy by design. That is to say, your data is private because it is end-to-end encrypted, and we literally do not have the data to leak to disgruntled publishers or law enforcement. For more, please read about the Calyx Institute, an Internet and telephone service provider that puts customer privacy first.
Spot-on in many cases, but this is an entirely grassroots production created by a combination of theatre people & digital creatives who want to do something innovative in Toronto (I am one of them.) We do, however, have a crowdfunding campaign. :) http://www.indiegogo.com/ZEDTO?a=351366
I think this should do the trick.

I met the CEO of IndieGoGo at a science competition last year, so that was the first company we went with for online fund raising. We finally got our PayPal account approved and recently created a campaign for our next big field trip. I should look into Donors Choose, too. Thanks for the tip.
Ok, so normally I'm just around for the lulz and I've always lurked instead of posting. This seems worthy though so I'm using it for my first post. Does it count if it's totally altruistic and not karma whoring? My sister is producing a short film about how we act based on our notion of what's real. It's got drugs, sex, guns, a horse... it's all in there except for cats and 3 legged dogs. It's a pretty awesome script but they are doing it on the cheap with no real budget and she could use some love! Check it out at http://www.gonermovie.com. If you're inclined, make a donation at http://www.indiegogo.com/goner. They've raised $5k but they still need to find another $3,500. Suppose I'm biased but I think it's a worthwhile project.
TLDR; sister is producing an indie film and could use some support.. plus it's going to be awesome.
This should be the top post. Maybe with some more recognition, we can help this guy complete his film!
