$36 for this shitty little thing?
Save yourself $30 by buying a tool with identical functionality from a well-established brand. The only real difference is that Gerber's doesn't have an LED, but with the $30 in you're saving, you could buy 45 LED keychains instead.
Saw this on KS's homepage of trending items. Anything non-aerospace-related that has "Aerospace Grade" metal in its title is already cheesy enough. But you can already buy titanium chopsticks from Amazon for under $12, which is cheaper than the $15 for the cheapest early bird package (and half of the "estimated retail" of $24): https://www.amazon.com/HealthPro-Titanium-Lightweight-Professional-Chopsticks/dp/B00MOQANSW
Nevermind that there have already been several successful KS campaigns for titanium chopsticks, including this one just 2 months ago that raised $118K for $40 a pair: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1016293309/solid-titanium-chopsticks-durable-eco-friendly-and
Just goes to show how much of a successful Kickstarter is about telling a story so interesting people don't bother to ask if it's already existed.
I was first looking at: "glass craftsmanship stock video" but had no luck.
Then I was like, wait a minute, these guys for sure didn't pay for that stock material and searched instead for "glass craft stock video free" ... and voila the 9th result is the one that has been used.
5th time they are trying, with one campaign canceled, one suspended and funding goals between $500 and $50k...
EDIT: and on amazon

Well, we have been doing that for years. Supported by donations and free for everyone.
Having a backup archive could be at least acceptable if you didn't have to F.U.C.K.I.N.G. P.A.Y. for access (see the perks). Seriously, go fuck yourself moron. I hope your public library begins charging you 1000$ per book.
I am not advocating that everything on the Internet should be free. I really hate free-to-play bullshit &co., I favour donations and I don't mind paying 10-100-1000$ for software that can really help me have some fun or get things done. But, jeez, public resources like this should be FREE and supported by donations.
Like Archive.org is, BTW.
I can guarantee that the batteries can't provide enough current to keep the head heated. You will have to wait for it to warm back up between scoops.
Oh, look, $20 on amazon. What's that you say in the reviews? It cools off with 1-2 scoops and you have to wait a couple of minutes for it to warm back up? You don't say!
you can actually buy the exact same product on amazon: For under $10 and with terrible reviews.
If the engrish didn't give this one away, you'd think the absolutely insane claims about cost and quality would.
Nope. 1300% funded.
Similarly-sized projectors have around 25-150 lumen power and sub-HD resolution for $150 to $350. There is no way this is real. Even the commenters are calling it out.
EDIT: Almost certainly a money laundering scheme mixed in with some hapless rubes. Strangely named accounts keep donating the same odd sums of money (which don't match any rewards) all in a row.
EDIT 2: Oh good, I'm being downvoted by bots. In case you needed more proof, their "prototype" is an alibaba product. http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Coolux-Q6-pocket-Pico-portable-projector_1993391656.html?spm=a2700.7724838.30.199.N5zHNs
For some reason, they look blue, whereas glass that blocks blue would look yellow-orange. Like these ones, that block almost all blue (probably going a bit too far).
This is known as copyfraud. He may have copyright in the particular typeset appearance, but not the texts.
These editions don't have any unique merit that would make them worth having. There are perfectly good, well-formatted editions of public-domain classics on Gutenberg and other sites. Gutenberg often has EPUB and Kindle versions with the original images.
Already available on AliExpress under the same brand name for the same price.
This needs to be top comment. Holy shit, the website is astonishing. A couple of select gems:
"Jonathan is the author of two books, Building a Successful Organization^ and The Destiny of Humanity^. The Destiny of Humanity was the first book to have ever been written for and sent to the leaders of every country on Earth, and covers topics including war, poverty, education, innovation, energy, equality, space, and economic development."
"Shortly after distribution of The Destiny of Humanity, Russia, Iran & North Korea called for an end to nuclear weapons, the United Nations passed the first gay rights resolution, Canada, Australia & India called for geothermal energy, China, America & Russia called for commercial and deep space exploration, and Barack Obama, immediately after receiving the book on May 12th, 2011, called Jonathan's plans on education, energy, national security, and jobs, his "new ideas", and the sudden appearance of "new ideas" was credited by the media with saving Obama's re-election campaign."
Campers/backpackers do. Actually there are quite a few titanium silverware sets marketed to backpackers because it's lighter, and every gram matters when you're carrying a pack for a hundred miles.
The backpacking ones are like 1/3 of the cost of this kickstarter, of course.
Exact same product but without the branding. Where's your $105 MRSP now, huh?
The benefit of using rechargeable batteries on a charging bay is the charger limits the risk of over charging the battery. Now you just have to hope the chip they put in it does that for you. Plus they are charging these batteries inside of a device in their product pictures...
They claim to be using NiMH chemistry in their AA battery and has a 1200mAh rating. Just a brief look at rechargeable AA bay batteries on amazon shows that energizer batteries hold 2300mAh and last 500 recharge cycles. These batteries somehow doubled that with a whopping 1000 recharge cycles.
I'm going to take a wild guess here and say they're over stating the mAh rating of these batteries considering almost half of the battery can't hold an electrical charge because of the charger inside of the battery.
This is a stupid gimmick that really isn't necessary and does nothing better from what is currently out there.
Saw these folks at Bay Area Maker Faire.
Had a very uncomfortable conversation with them regarding the shortcomings and lack of advantage versus the competition.
Edit: I have been very happy with this Anker usb charger, which provides similar current, without an external adapter.

Now send me $300
Integrating Enjin doesn't make you any special nor should it be any sort of selling point for the game because what matters is gameplay and what you have is generic as fuck, as someone mentioned this is a poor No Mans Sky built on a slow database.
300 players isn't enough to support an MMO you need thousands of people who actively pay and engage with the content because your hosting fees are going to bankrupt you.
If my opinion doesn't matter why the fuck are you here responding to every single post?
So it looks like this is actually a redo of an old existing product. I found some old reviews and a dead amazon page. It actually got decent reviews on Amazon with the big complaint being driver support and post update, but the actual usability of the mouse actually seems to trend positively
https://www.solidsmack.com/software-hardware-reviews/lexip-pro-the-all-in-one-3d-mouse-review/
https://www.amazon.com/Lexip-Professional-3d-Mouse/dp/B006QAZA0I/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pdt_img_top?ie=UTF8
>I'm curious why they bothered to make a case for the prototype
Probably to hide the fact it's housing a pre-built projector, something like this
What makes this shit is that it's just an Alibaba resell with a 1000% markup. You can also buy this exact product from Amazon right now, minus their meaningless geometric logo, for $28.
> We are all unfamiliar with the effects of radiation
Lol. You are unfamiliar, physicists, chemists and most biologists are very familiar.
Also lol @ the hat. If anything it would act like a concentrator and make things "worse" assuming there is anything wrong. The shirt too, if it actually reflects radio waves would mean any that entered through unprotected parts (arms, waist, neck) would just bounce around inside the shirt.
So if anything these products would just make things worse. You would need one of those entire body suits to actually "protect" yourself.
During the kickstarter campaign a few months ago it became clear that they were lying about having working prototypes of their device. They produced a fake video.
http://hackaday.com/2014/09/04/scribble-and-the-failings-of-tech-journalism/
this one got funded
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1375574007/pony-pillow-plushy-take-2?ref=users
the plushie in the picture looks like it knows what will be done to it once it arrives at the destination home.
Short version: This product is snake oil, chances are good that it will be an Alibaba repackage. The head designer is shown posing with his earlier budget speaker, which wholesales for $30 but sells for $180 on fashion shops.
The Astro design is not one of minimalism, but of cost saving. The pitch is basically "we spent less money on this than our competitors, so it will cost a premium".
Long version:
Right off the bat, this project starts with the claim that their product is the only one on the market that's "real". This is popular among snake oil scams, selling people a product that's identical to existing alternatives at a higher price.
The market is essentially "people who want to be audiophiles without putting in the work". A $120 speaker isn't going to be especially good no matter how brilliant your engineers are, because the materials that go into great speakers are crazy expensive.
I'm not an audiophile, but I'm pretty knowledgeable with audio tech. There are other holes in the story, which I'll bullet-point and elaborate on if anyone asks:
These seem to be already available as Promate Trueblue, but at $150. Promate is also a company from Shenzhen, China, and I can't work out what their relationship is.
Ah, they're both knockoffs of Parihy True Wireless Earbuds. Currently unavailable at Amazon, but the first review was in July, so it was shipping then.
'color compression restoration'... aka... we make up missing information.
edit: it's a scam. I thought they looked familiar...
Heh I was discussing this last night on a discord server Brad from Liliputing is on.
Their picture of them being ready for production on the main campaign page? From a Shutterstock video.
The picture of a lady inspecting pcb's from their latest update?
Shamelessly ripped from here.
Their proposed upgrade is flat out impossible.
The 7y30 is 20x16.5mm, the z8750 is 17x17mm.
The socket is completely different, they'd have to completely redesign the motherboard for the cpu change and then there's cost.
Considering there are Chinese tablets that have the 7y30 in the $330 range Intel's tray price of $280 obviously is not what Chinese suppliers are paying for them but its still not that cheap.
For $150 their original design with the z8750 is probably feasible.
The proposed redesign is impossible unless they want to lose money.
I'm inclined to say they took a Gole1, went to some electronics place to replace the z8350 with a z8750, slightly modified the case and are taking people for a ride.
What exactly is the point of a kickstarter for a weighted blanket when there are dozens of companies already selling them? What kind of lunatic would pay $120 for a blanket that will (or in this case, probably won't) arrive in three months, when you can order one on amazon for $58 and have it tomorrow?
Frankly, anybody who backs this idiocy deserves to be ripped off.
This is not a new idea. It's OK for camping, or as an alternative for washing delicates by hand.
It took me minutes to find a very similar one on Amazon for $50 + free shipping in many countries; the campaign is at least $59 Early Bird + $17 shipping, up to $69 + $35.
Hang on a second, I bought that exact wallet from Amazon about a year ago. Boy they really give ZERO shits about the "no reselling" rule huh.
Edit: Jesus they're even using some of the picture off the Amazon one.
Their claim is that they are using supercapacitors as batteries. You charge this device in 5 min , which in turn can charge your phone later. Supercaps are indeed can be charged fast , and discharged fast.
But supercaps capacity is small. Quoting this Hackaday article about "WILL SUPERCAPACITORS EVER REPLACE BATTERIES?", "energy per unit volume, supercapacitors are also far behind at 15 Wh/L, and 1200 Wh/L for batteries." They claim they made "The ZEUS makes the supercapacitors and lithium-ion cells work together dynamically." , im curious about what they mean by that.
Why would I get this from a horrid infomercial when I could get this from Amazon for a bit less that $7?
>The number one main problem is getting the funds to fund this project and actually making it happen.
What about the fact that the t-shirt is actually from Amazon? In the sense that you send him a link to any t-shirt on amazon and he will buy it for you and have it shipped to you? No mention of any price limits, so I will ask for this ugly mofo: https://www.amazon.com/BALMAIN-S7H8008J046176-BLACK-COTTON-T-SHIRT/dp/B06WWJL8NP/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1488823677&sr=8-20&keywords=t-shirt
(My previous version of this comment was deleted because I accidentally used an affiliate Amazon link)
Chuck Tingle's a big name in bizarre erotica ebooks. Such classics as "My Billionaire Triceratops Craves Gay Ass" and "Pounded By The Pound: Turned Gay By The Socioeconomic Implications Of Britain Leaving The European Union". It's no wonder this was a smashing success, a shame it failed.
>Wikipedia promotes itself as an "encyclopedia" (with the goal to replace Encyclopedia Britannica)
If Wikipedia's goal is to replace Encyclopedia Britannica then Encyclopedia Britannica's goal must be to replace Buzzfeed.
Yes, since they are probably reselling Alibaba stuff that costs 15$/piece. I strongly suspect it's this one. The hands are slightly different (rectangular, not triangular), the notches are missing from the photos (but not in the video) and their version has a logo engraved. All these things can reasonably fit into the customisation service the producer is offering. Furthermore, the quartz mechanism is exactly the one the KS page is praising and both the wriststrap and the body are identical, except for the colours (which, again, can be customized).
For those of you who think this is a joke:
>"If this doesn't scare you away from a journalism degree, I'm not sure what will."
>-My Uncle, forgetting I was not my journalist cousin.
A resell of JAKCOM Smart Ring R3. Or maybe we should call it funding a distributor, since he didn't change the name or bother to produce any marketing material, even the video is just copied from JAKCOM. It's been available for about a year, and you can buy it on Amazon for 26 USD = 35 CAD. This guy is selling it for 48 CAD (plus shipping, in all cases).
Here you go...
https://www.amazon.com/Tiger-Balm-Ultra-Strength-0-63/dp/B001ECQ5VG
~$15 for a 2 pack. No need to wait for a year to be told that grapes decided not to grow this year.
I had a book as a kid that had one of these lenses in it along with a bunch of other cool stuff. I found it on Amazon, published in '91.
https://www.amazon.com/Explorabook-Kids-Science-Museum-Book/dp/1591747996
If you have a copy of this book from your childhood, you don't even need to buy a Crox!
I can see that getting traction. If you have no self control $45 for a box that keeps you from absentmindedly picking up your phone isn't a bad investment when you're trying to focus on housework or studying or something like that.
He has a prototype in his hand in the video, and the proof of concept gallery has the mechanism demonstrated as well. It seems like it's a phone specific version of this
I think, having looked a bit more on this that they actually want $500k, near the very end it says:
>WE WANT 10,000% FUNDED TO GRAB THE RECORD AND MAKE HISTORY WITH YOU AND AMERICA RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW SHORTEST AMOUNT OF DAYS
Which is more confusing, because there are KS out there that were 11,000% funded and that's just a quick look on the "most funded" page, I'm sure there are some with less overall funding but a bigger %.
Because it is from Alibaba
EDIT: make sure to look up the online profiles of the campaigner... MIT alumni posing on Facebook in lingerie photos, looks legit! ;)
That Anker doesn't have USB-C. This one does but is $129 and outputs only 30W: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Delivery-Charger-Portable/dp/B01MZ61PRW
Most likely it's only $300 so that the Kickstarter price ($150) looks like a steal and once it's in retail the price will be below the kickstarter price.
Alternatively, there is this actually feasible and kind of neat ground-cushion (hovercraft) skateboard.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1862772184/hoverskater
It's not a completely insane idea and looks like it might be fun.
EAGET 32GB USB 3.0 Super Speed Flash Drive with Full Metal Casing & Hooked Key Ring Design - $14.59 on Amazon compared to $10 for a promised 8GB USB 2.0.
> Custom engraving options will be available after the campaign succeeds.
Metal and engraved? Now that is a real selling point! (Like for this USB Wholesaler)
Campaign early-bird price $10; Four-pack for $12 at Amazon. (I'm not saying it's exactly the same strap, but ISTM it would perform the same job.)
My favorite Kickstarter was a kids book. It came only a little late and was everything promised and really well done. I think he only ended up doing the Kickstarter run and maybe sold a few to pay for the shipping costs. I don’t think he made anything on it in the end with worldwide shipping costs. this is the book by the way. It looks like it’s selling used for close to what I paid. Tempted to sell for $80 on amazon if that’s the going rate, lol!
I also got one of those puzzles from Kickstarter that is just the shift of colors. A really enjoyable puzzle. Two pieces were cut too narrow and split but it was still worth it. Of course those are really common now but I loved backing that project.
My burnout was on pugz headphones. I knew there was a risk I wouldn’t get it, get it on time, or that it wouldn’t be as high quality sound as they claimed. What I wasn’t ok with was saying it would charge directly on the iPhone before having approval from Apple and then dropping the iPhone right as the round closed because it turned out Apple said no. I think I put my money in a week before closing. I know the Apple announcement didn’t get to me until after it had closed.
I’ve never paid that much for headphones before which made it sting more. i even bought a second set for my husband since I was worried he would be jealous and didn’t want to pay their retail price. I literally only paid that much because of the iPhone charging option.
They were massively over funded and unless 90% of their buyers were iPhone users they could have decided to just refund the iPhone users.
I got the product very late and in the end I made it work by carrying a backup battery in order to charge my headphones on the go. Not the end of the world but not worth what I paid.
>We then decided to go one step further in the telling of this story, which began with Gutenberg’s publication of the Bible in 1450.
Apparently there were no bibles before 1450?
They have the first ones here.

It's got pretty good reviews too
For some context, I'm a left handed mouse user. I've been asking companies like razer and logitech at shows like GDC and PAX to make left handed mouses for years. Every single time I'm told that they would love to, but they simply can't sell enough of them to make money. This is a decent way to make sure they can actually successfully sell them.
Right now, the only real "gaming" mouse you can get that's left handed is this: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-Essential-Left-Handed-Adjustible/dp/B003EUPCZG/. It's expensive, hasn't been updated in years, has pretty much no features, and I've gone through probably 3 of them in the last 6 years.
I'll happily pay the asking price for a mouse like this that fits my needs.
I couldn't figure out what to write, so I wrote everything! This is how we get Emperess Theresa. You can even buy it!
Fake LinkedIn profile, no company/project website and Feb 2016 delivery... legit!
Still amazed to read the comments from their current backers...
On a side note, why has IGG removed the full screen button for the videos? So annoying...
Here are some popular books about grammar. You should try reading one, I'm sure your local library should have at least something from this list in its collection.
If you want to be a professional writer, having a good grip on the English language is kind of important.
Yeah, and they say they're going to "craft" the first 100, probably with a heat gun or even an oven. I suppose that might be $15 worth of effort, but it's a lot to pay for simple plastic doohickey.
Their plan of crafting, then switching to injection molding, then upgrading with a battery pack sounds more like a classic self-funding small business plan, rather than a Kickstarter all-or-nothing plan.
http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_184880.html - to be fair some of the smallest/smaller lights can get expensive - though this will blow away that light in light output and it's not fair comparing a light made for enthusiasts to a normal regular one.
I'd say this is shitty because it's way more expensive than a portable solar USB charger. Reviews complain that it 'only' outputs 18W. The only big benefit for lifesaber is you can slowly charge stuff at night, which I guess is handy for those ill planned nocturnal hikes where things go awry but for every other case solar provides more power and doesn't require awkward hand motions for hours on end.
I've backed the Superbook, and have been following it's development for nearly two years. I think backers will receive their Superbooks eventually. The company and technology is legit, you can download their app on the PlayStore, it actually works really well and has since it's launch around the time of the Kickstarter. Razer even used it during their CES demo of Linda.
With that said, I think the delays are just a case of people who have no idea how to build hardware at scale. They've made so many mistakes with their manufacturing and distribution partners, that it is quite evident they literally are learning as they go. While the delays have been beyond frustrating, the fact that their tech works, and they've been fairly communicative leads me to believe that I'll get my Superbook... sooner or later.
I'm glad he's wisened up about asking for lots of money. The description is better edited than before too. It's good to see that's he's actually putting some effort into his pitch.
It's unfortunate that it's on flexible funding, but at least he'll maybe get something to start working on his dream project.
Cut out and Google Image Search "Spectrum Kung" and at the very bottom will be a link to a Chinese Lawfirm and his image is there, however, his name is not Spectrum.
Secondly, the "prototype" lamp (if it can be called that) is literally some circuit boards, plastic pieces, and a crude drawing of said lamp.
Lastly, here is an Alibaba Link for everyone.
They've already reached their 30k funding goal and I plan to report them.
Moral of the story here, a fool and his money is easily parted and if we've learned anything it's that Kickstarter is full of them.
Edit: Also, they anglicized or gave themselves fake names to sound more American. Another Red Flag.
I sent an email to IndieGoGo support and this is what they sent in reply:

So I guess I singlehandedly got a crowdfunding campaign shut down? Sick.
FYI Amazon's Fire tablets can go for as low as $40-80 (depending on storage, size): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J94SWWU/
I bought one when it was $30 during Black Friday. It's no iPad but it streams movies through Netflix/Amazon just fine.
I'm not sure I understand why, but I see plenty of people buying branded goods that visibly advertise some fast food. Not just T-shirts (Wendy's), but even mini fridges (Coca-Cola). I guess people have positive associations for these and/or find it funny.
If you buy in bulk, you can get transparent plastic tubes for as low as $0.1 per meter.
Here is Update 22:
Dear backers,
How’s it going? We hope you’re in a good mood.
This time, we need your help. It’s absolutely necessary! Please find a few minutes to consider our propositions. Your satisfaction depends on your choice and the Kickstarter crowd.
A few problems have arisen, and we have had to rethink the project. In short, at this moment we are offering you a Woolet with a rechargeable battery which can be charged by a micro USB cable. We swapped wireless charging for a rechargeable battery because we thought further delay would not be acceptable. It was the only way to provide you with the Woolet on time. You can check the full story here: http://blog.woolet.co/wearables/backers-only-all-the-information-needed
This decision had put the Woolet in jeopardy. We are very sorry we didn’t ask for your opinion. If we had known that you wouldn’t be happy with this idea, we would not even have tried to implement it.
We are in a tight corner, and we have to bounce back. We really, really need your help. Please vote for the best option: a. Woolet charged by microUSB cable + RFID cover (ETA: before Christmas) b. Woolet with wireless charging without charging pad* (ETA: February 2016)
Type in your answer here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5QV9ZHC
Thank you for your answer. We are going to count every single vote and will post the official results before September 30. Stay tuned!
*Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with a charging pad because of money issues. Some materials and tests exceeded our imagination.
Here is how big a 600mah phone power bank is. You are looking at a 90x20x20 mm dimension at least.
Huh, this time it was MMORPG.com providing the misleading information.
http://www.mmorpg.com/newsroom.cfm/read/30245/Harry-Potter-Online-in-development-sort-of.html
The video where they argue how they have rights to make the game has gotten chopped down by the internet lumberjack, sadly.
For sure their updates are complete bullshit. As an Android developer, their "Sending and Receiving Messages blah blah..." section specifically caught my eye.
Apparently the argument listings came from the components in Android "intent", a basic building block of Android apps. It's nothing to do with Aido or robotics or whatsoever. It absolutely makes zero sense.
But hey, I just found out the entire section is a direct copy and paste from the Llamalab's Automate documentation with slightly changing the title. Now it's making some sense...
> Mixes spice
> Measures quantities
So is mixing spice really a plus, I mean it just dispenses it into the same container, you could just do that with any spice from a jar.
Also for measuring, just get a couple of these sets stick the spoon into the jar, it's hardly rocket science. I can't see what time is being saved here, hell you don't even have a shaker.
But then I think I've got at least 60+ dried herbs/spices in my kitchen so maybe I'm not the target audience.
> Cavitation bubbles That's how ultrasonic cleaners work. (It's basically a speaker stuck at the bottom of a water pan, so the IGG thing could work. Any waterproof ultrasonic speaker too, and it'd cost 15$ maybe.)
I have one similar to the one linked and it cleans my e-cig parts quite well, it's perfect for threads and parts you'd have a hard time reaching to scrub mechanically. My dentist has one in his cabinet too, next to a UV thingy, for what it's worth.
It works on hard materials (metal, glass, ceramic), I don't think it'd be efficient on fabric or fruits without having a volume loud enough to be dangerous for hearing health.
>This guy would have gotten rejected by traditional publishers for free, but he probably paid to have his book sit there unsold.
I'll do you one better.
He did a kickstarter for that very book. The modest sum he was requesting for writing this novel? $10,000.
Good to know that failing to raise that money didn't stop him from making the book though.
EDIT: This is the one he is re-selling from Alibaba
I have no idea why he needs $42,000. A quick search of Alibaba shows 90-degree mirror prisms for $1 each at a minimum order of like 50. Buy some washer magnets and stick them onto the prism. Boom. There you go. Hes in it maybe $150 for 50 of them. Sell them for $9.99 online. Rinse and repeat as needed.
Edit They already make these.
I can piss more than 20 fl.oz/600mL on a full bladder
Good luck with those little 16.9fl.oz/500mL bottles
Average bladder is 400-600ml so I'd definitely want at least a 1L bottle.
Please go and read all 3 of his blog posts.
I'm well aware of how much work can be involved in developing a mobile OS. However, that is far from what he is actually doing. He's bundling pre-existing work from other projects and slapping a fancy name on it.
He's using an existing build of LineageOS for his device, bundling MicroG with it and a few other existing open source apps like F-Droid. This isn't going to take years of development, because there's no development involved in what he is doing, apart from the custom launcher he's having made which could also be using someone else's code for all we know.
Here's a project already doing most of what he's suggesting, without begging for funding. LineageOS for microG
And the FTC fined a KS creator after it was found he misused the money heavily. Funny enough though, you could buy his game on amazon, but I'm doubtful he'll be getting any money from it.
Kinda similarish to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.supercoolgames.CrystalCharger

I love the 5 star rating of his own app.
And the program's website does nothing other than instill a sense of trust in it's capabilities.

For reference An unreleased test pressing of Caustic Window by Aphex Twin was found and released under the agreement of Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) and his record label.
Unlike that project, this creator wants to buy some rare already released records for himself (which he states he can't guarantee he'll get) and then give everyone a copy of them. Not a cent is going to Richard D. James or the record label.
> This is really fishy. I'm not a developer, but I'm sure they had to shift some in-game code for the prototype and for their device too. Niantic won't be pleased.
Perhaps it's emulating the Pokémon Go Plus?
Why is this a super shitty Kickstarter? Several reasons, but here's the big one:
Let the market decide and all that, but this is a 7000% prince increase for less metal. That's pretty shitty.
Other shitty parts?
As for the creator commenting on this own Kickstarter, he said, "Those rings look gorgeous. Super excited for this!" It sounds a lot like he tried to post using a fake account to jumpstart some comments. But on the same day, someone said, "I am very excited for this campaign!" Bland and supportive just like the creator's comment, right? Even a Spanish-language comment reads the same: "I am very excited about the project you are carrying out, my best wishes." Suspicious and shitty comments.

15 bucks for 3 boring white ice sticks, or get 6 rainbow ice sticks for 11 bucks
Well a dedicated server could cost such an amount, and I think you do need a lot of capacity for a really popular chat network. Freenode runs about 30 dedicated servers it seems: https://freenode.net/hosting_ircd.shtml
Not that this makes any sense for a/this kickstarter
Well, the "IT Director" is a WordPress designer (Google Image Search), and their "Social Media Manager" doesn't seem to have much of a social media presence ... although, this isn't too bad.
So the only reward is the book and it costs $50! I'm really hoping that's a hardback, though she doesn't actually say it. It's still quite expensive for a hardback, even her self-published first book is only $29 as a print-on-demand hardback. Published in 2011 - I think it's fair to say it hasn't been a runaway success.
Also available on Kindle for $4. Published on Kindle four days ago; A five-star review was added the very next day, by someone with no other public activity on Amazon, ever.
I have been carrying a TOTO Travel Washlet for close to a decade now. It's portable civilization. I found out it exists when I was on a client on site for a few months and on a ... ... bad day I have googled portable washlet despite I couldn't imagine how one could possibly exist but boy was I glad to find it does.
Totally SFW video on how to use it https://youtu.be/NBAY1GWjjaQ
Even though it's called "travel" it's totally usable every day if you can't install a proper washlet in your home.
https://www.amazon.com/TOTO-Travel-Handy-Washlet-YEW350-WH/dp/B005FDJ8SM ~70 bucks.
Cheaper than the kickstarter, readily ships and a well known brand and model. The biggest problem with it is not losing it after a transoceanic flight... I have gotten better in recent years but still it can be quite challenging.
> However, I do have a verifiable track record of accomplishing things conventional wisdom held could not be done, as shown in my profile at LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-elwood-poll...]@
I really wanted to check out his Linked In profile for his verifiable track record of accomplishing things, but alas, he couldn't even accomplish copying a URL properly.
Here's the absolute closest I can find on Alibaba.
Note the price, and even then this is barely even close hardware wise.
I applaud everyone in this sub for how they're responding to this guys continued uploads. We are all well aware that he has some developmental issues and needs actual help.
The book he's written is already available on Amazon, I'm nearly curious enough to buy one.
Edit: Looks like he uploaded his Amazon proof to Facebook, enjoy the read!
Here's the Amazon listing, complete with "Fulfilled by Amazon" purchasing direct from the company: https://www.amazon.com/Nespresso-Compatible-Capsules-ESPRESSO-Discounts/dp/B01HP0V9P2/
Reviews tell me they've been selling on Amazon since early July at the very latest.
It's just a re-branded resale item available at amazon.
Report to IGG.
The should be able to deliver the product, you can get the same thing just not in bandaid form for less than $2 on amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Sun-Meter-UV-card-Plastic/dp/B003P645CU/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_121_bs_lp_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=QYB8KSMYC0YH5K6QHTRK
However, holy photoshop batman. Compare their still images of the product (no visible clear sticker) with the video (ugly ass clear bandage)
There's also a proper smartphone company that makes and sells a device with an integrated e-ink display on the back.
