I've backed the Superbook, and have been following it's development for nearly two years. I think backers will receive their Superbooks eventually. The company and technology is legit, you can download their app on the PlayStore, it actually works really well and has since it's launch around the time of the Kickstarter. Razer even used it during their CES demo of Linda.
With that said, I think the delays are just a case of people who have no idea how to build hardware at scale. They've made so many mistakes with their manufacturing and distribution partners, that it is quite evident they literally are learning as they go. While the delays have been beyond frustrating, the fact that their tech works, and they've been fairly communicative leads me to believe that I'll get my Superbook... sooner or later.
Yes. You can download the application, run it once, then tap on the notification (Launch anyway I think it says)

Ah great question. All you need to do is download our app, which is available in the Play store: Andromium OS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromium.os).
Plug in the phone to the Superbook and it should automatically switch to the laptop display in the desktop mode.
They might deliver, they might not. But looks like the "hard" part is pretty much ready (the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromium.os) and the hardware should be pretty easy to make, nothing special there. They almost got to $300k, that's 3,000 customers.
> 4- it does not have remote desktop screen casting mode such as the Samsung dex and Huawei
It does not have a built-in desktop OS, no, however you can connect it via USB-C -> HDMI cable, and there's software options, such as Andromium
There's no reason why it can't transform into a different UX if you have peripherals to handle it... ie:
I have a Note 4 with the Samsung dock for it. The dock has an HDMI, 2 USB, and a headphone jack out. For a little while I used a KVM to switch between that and my desktop. It worked very well. The big cons as to why I didn't stick with it would be it was in 720p and using Android with a keyboard and mouse is a little frustrating.
Since then Andromium app the has come out, and it straight up fixes those two cons. It makes me feel like I'm using a Chromebook. I highly recommend.
Check out "Andromium OS (Beta)" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromium.os
IT's using USB for everything, using the USB-OTG standard. The laptop's maximum resolution is 1080p, which is more than enough for the USB to handle.
Andromium, which is their "OS", is essentially just a launcher, IMO.
It is basically an external keyboard, mouse and monitor all packaged nicely togethere.
I've been thinking about this too, so far I am considering Andromium with a slimport dock. I've ordered the dock from ebay and am just waiting for it to arrive to test.

You can try out the "OS" right now. It's... fine. Just fine. Similar in speed/design to using a Raspberry Pi as a desktop PC.
And don't forget our software!
We spent 2 years building Andromium OS. Don't tell me it's just a screen with a keyboard: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromium.os&hl=en
The way it works on Remix OS, you can't have just a launcher. It's built into the system.
What you're looking for is Andromium.
It's on the play store.

Sentio does a great job.
Launch it once and then tap the notification. Runs right on the device and you can then cast it for a semi desktop experience.

Andromium does something similar. These seem to work really well with our floating applications.
In that case check out Andromium. It turns your phone into a full-fledged laptop. You can also buy the Superbook, a $99 accessory, that is pretty much a laptop shell.

Hmm well if you want an app instead of something built in, I did give this a go a couple of years back: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromium.os&hl=en_GB
Sentio desktop is the best option that I've found, and I keep up with 90% of app releases :P

uhhh... No that won't happen, but what may happen is a Microsoft phone running Android.
Currently.. MS makes a real slick lock screen, launcher, MS application hub, Office, and a whole list of Andriod applications
All they need now is a continuum style desktop app (which is already available on the play store) (short video here)
So maybe there will be a Nokia Windriod? Who knows.
Turns your phone into a desktop.
Pair a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Connect phone up to HDMI.
>you can plug some specific models of phone
for other phones, there are Andromium & Leena app available on Google play.
There are also ROMs (Android OS) available with Desktop UI support: Phoenix OS, Oxi OS, Maru OS, etc.
Well it's the same as OP's title anyway, plus I can do that with a second click to force the Android to run in desktop mode instead of phone or tablet mode, provided the device is rooted.
Or I can just use this:

I think you mean Andromium. But yeah, this is probably really good news for the Superbook team.
