No, I think I will try to manually clear the App Store cache next and leave deleting as the final solution, because I don’t want to risk not being able to download it again for whatever reason. I shoot on my S10 and edit on my 8th gen iPad. Works absolutely fine. The only issue was transferring 4K Video files from my S10 to the iPad since the 8th gen iPad (still) has a lightning port unlike the Air and Pro, so I bought this (https://www.amazon.com.au/SanDisk-iXpand-Lightning-Type-C-connectors/dp/B08JCX12SK/ref=sr_1_32?dchild=1&keywords=sandisk+type+c&qid=1629090864&sr=8-32) and it has made things easier.

I switched to the iPad because my laptop can't handle PP either and I've been happy with the workflow.

So, I think my problem had something to do with my file and not the external hard drive + adapter. That said, I found that the HDD I have just doesn’t have fast enough read/write for me. It would technically load my files into the project manager in LF, but playback was unreliably slow.
