I want to thank whatever saint posted about the maeband waistband extender on here. I’m not showing of course, but am so bloated and none of my shorts fit. I wore this for the first time today and my waistband didn’t bother me at all— truly a blessing on a hot day at a picnic!
I swear by those emesis bags with the round plastic top, like the ones you get in the urgent care waiting room. I bought some on Amazon. Obviously the best case scenario is never having to throw up in front of another person (fingers crossed for you!), but grabbing a bag from your purse is way preferable to grabbing your boss's trash can.
If you can’t keep anything down that’s definitely not normal average morning sickness. I’m glad you called, hopefully they can get you some meds to help out!
For reflux I’m a huge fan of Gaviscon Advance. I usually take one before bed to prevent nighttime reflux.
A bellaband may help! I just got one so I can keep wearing my regular pants, which no longer zip shut without creating a major muffin top.
Trying to reach my OB but haven’t heard back… I always took these to help my IBS-C nbpure Mag O7 Oxygen Digestive System Cleanser Capsules (30 Count) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073MZJY2B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GEFJF5Y7TDZH5E5NCVA7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 pre pregnancy. Now I’m not sure if it’s safe during pregnancy but I am so backed up I am dying to take them! It’s the only thing that works for me. Everything I google says yes but it makes me nervous till my OB gives the green light.
I lived in these tanks with my first. They’re nice and long plus have a little compression which feels good postpartum.
I bought a size up of the colorful koala leggings on Amazon and they held up really well too
We bought a foldable foam mattress for the floor of the nursery so that the parent on call could nap between wakes during the night, and it was such a good idea.
Hey! I’m 9w1d into my second pregnancy. I got this book with my first and I am reading it again now. Highly recommend!!
My partner and I read it together during my first and my son and I read it together now.
Kindred bravely sells busty sizes in addition to regular s/m/l, but I would wait. I pulled my nursing bras out and they aren't comfortable at all. I found that some nylon bras like this worked the best to deal with the fluctuations. Unfortunately, my boobs changed size like 7 times during/immediately after pregnancy, but those bras got me through most of it. Toward the end, I had to buy 2 cheap sports bras in xl (normally a m).
I used to have a HUGE needle phobia, I was literally sobbing just checking in to get a blood draw 3 years ago. Now before a blood draw or IV I numb the site and can’t feel a thing. I’ve had to have at least 25 blood draws/IVs since and with the numbing it doesn’t cause me any anxiety anymore!
If you’re interested in numbing you can ask for a prescription for EMLA cream (it’s safe during pregnancy) and buy some tegaderm patches. You want to apply a pretty thick layer of EMLA to the patch and apply it 2 hours ahead. You also want to be very hydrated, it will help your veins pop.
Of course!! Good luck!! Hope you feel better soon.
In case you’re interested, this is what I use: Ultima Replenisher Raspberry Electrolyte Powder, New Formula, 30 Serving Canister (Net Wt.3.4 OZ(96 g) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01IIGHS0W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_S175V1FGHBAEFDBY0DQQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I’ve found things like Gatorade to be more than useless since it’s mostly just sugar. And some electrolyte powders have tons of B vitamins so watch out for that as there’s studies that too much B12 could have potential birth defects.
Nursing bras!! They expand for during pregnancy which is nice. I liked these a lot because they were also easy to pump in

I got my mom one of these. Basically you freeze the cup, put in your favorite beverage and squeeze. It turns into a slushie.

This is the supplement I’m using and it’s been great. Zero issues with constipation. Midwife & OB approved. I have a midwife who will be my doula because I’m going for a VBAC - laboring at home then going to the hospital to give birth.

I had this during my last pregnancy starting very early on. I recommend buying a cooling blanket like this one. Also keep an eye on your blood pressure. Mine was related to my preeclampsia.
Just started this!!! And I got this off Amazon Maternal Balance Natural Morning Sickness Relief for Pregnant Women - 90 Easy Swallow Veggie Capsules. Gentle Anti-Nausea with Herbal Ginger, B6, Zinc. Convenient & Economical. Safe Made in USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NNQH6FH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_EQV6MW72W84GF8QTCS3N?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I used these, honestly some random Amazon brand that I thought had a funny name, so I can't say if they are better or worse than any others:

I don't like padding, so removable cups were good for me, but some people preferred their other version.
Looks like there are way more kind than there were a few years ago!
>tips to curb appetite(without restricting necessary nutrition)
During my last pregnancy, I gained 52 lbs in the first two trimesters (I was overweight to start with). I had a cycle of ravenous hunger->nausea->overeating->nausea. At the beginning of my third trimester, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and went on the GD diet as detailed in this book*. And I completely stopped gaining weight. This pregnancy, I've just started the GD diet immediately, hoping to cut off the blood sugar spikes and crashes that led me to eat too much.
*The GD diet does not restrict calories or nutrition; the gist is that you eat 6 small meals a day, always including some type of protein/fat, and keep your carb portions relatively small and from less-processed sources. The point is to try to keep your blood sugar from fluctuating too high or too low.
