Jolly Ball's Jolly Romper and Kong's Black Rubber Bone...both are the most durable toys know to dog. Jolly Ball actually started as a horse toy, and is my pup's favorite toy in the whole world, and Kong make awesome stuff for dogs in general, but specifically the toys that are black are made from an even stronger rubber than the rest. It is the only bone that has survived years with my dog, who normally kills bone type toys in hours. I consider both toys indestructible, although with with Jolly Romper, the rope will of course get ruined. I just regularly replace the rope.
We use these, work great, maybe goes through two a year
That sounds like a clever creative idea! :)
The best beds my mastiffs love are from Costco. I just bought this one: http://www.costco.com/Kirkland-Signature%E2%84%A2-Pillow-Top-Orthopedic-Pet-Napper-Brown-Tweed.product.100125836.html And they love it! It isn't as boofy as it looks in the photo and the one I got in the store has more of a shearling curly cue type of material on top (if that makes sense). But it's very orthopedic and durable. I have two others also from Costco that are great and comfortable as well.
Those are irritated, in-grown hairs from their chin rubbing on the dog bowl when they eat. Try to get them as soon as they appear, black hair will come out when you squeeze them. If you don't get a handle on them early, eventually no hair will grow there.
Try to get a dog bowl that is wider/more open on the edges so the dog won't be able to rub their chin so easily while eating. Stainless steel and at least 12 cups or larger like these for example: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WA9OEC
This stuff from Amazon is THE best.

If the smell/dirt is bad, apply liberally, rub their ears so it gets in there good, then gently dry with cotton or a soft paper towel.
For maintenance, just do the same with a few drops in each ear.
It is the ONLY thing that we could find to work with our Bullmastiff. Our neighbor had a similar problem with their Bordeaux, and again this was the only thing to work.
Also -- paw protection? I used to use Musher's Secret for Shadow and our GSD, who were both prone to cracked pads year-round. Strangely, my smaller dogs never seemed to have that problem. I've already noticed Mouse's paws getting pretty rough, so off to Amazon I go...
I bought this trailer for, among other activities, carrying our Mastiff (~135 lbs).

While it can support her weight, she has been extremely reluctant to even get in the thing. So it has become a designated hockey bag carrier until I can learn how to entice her to hop in.
I've been using this leather slip lead for about 3 months now. It's thick, but relatively narrow, but been pretty good so far. Sturdy, a couple teeth marks, but she was still teething at the time. Not sure if it'd be good for a full grown mastiff that pulls on the leash, but otherwise, I think it'd be a good leash.

I bought this one for my F-150 as my 155lb’r BM is getting up in years. Works great and all I do is place my foot behind it just as extra security.
This is our big guys life-long favorite toy. One usually lasts him 3-4 months, which is the best we’ve ever found
YUP. Coconut has what my vet describes as a "concave vulva" and used to get UTIs every 3-4 months. She hasn't had one since I started wiping her privates after her bathroom breaks with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076DJ3QCV/
But you do gotta get (gently) up in there a little...
Our german shepherd/pitbull mix who is an extremely heavy chewer loves his shark toy. Also, a kong leash can double as a rope to play with and can be chewed on quite aggressively. He also has something similar to this worm toy which he still hasn’t chewed up yet. Stay away from anything that is cheap rubber/plastic because it will get chewed through if your puppy is a heavy chewer. Always supervise chewing time, too! Thick, heavy bones are always great to chew on as well

Jolly egg. My mastiff mutt has chased this in our yard since jan 2018. All you do is say "egg" or go tap it with your foot. She goes bananas for HOURS, just give water and she keeps going. It's a bully breed thing,I learned it from a friends mutt. My hound finds it the least interesting toy ever created. The yellow one is very easy to spot and find where your dog shoves it.

Absolutely! We also used hoofs when the pup was younger - your pup might still be size appropriate but we got worried about choking hazards once ours got bigger (18 months maybe?).
Lastly I will say for plush toys, the GoDog brand sold on chewy/Amazon/pet shops works well. They survive longer than your average plush toy. We specifically like the octopus because it has long legs, reducing instances of tooth to hands! https://www.chewy.com/godog-crazy-tugs-octopus-squeaker-dog/dp/389036?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12789771279&utm_content=goDog&utm_term=&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V2jiVpbfiwi7UCQ6hQ6OpgpN&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuMuRBhCJARIsAHXdnqM4DQGDs2Cd2n8XDxIVydHYePo3v6l8uZyLjyH_5MrG9BQAlVKIaNwaAsrpEALw_wcB
We used a gentle leader with our stubborn EMs. We’ve had six and three of them have been as obstinate as can be. The gentle leader takes a while for them to get used to (one of our females never has and continues to fight it but I have not been as consistent as I should be). Here’s a link from Amazon.

We had much more luck with these than with choke chains. Plus, they hunker down and pull anyway. Hope this helps.

I give a set amount twice a day. If they eat, they eat. If they dont, they dont. If they gulp it down they make bowls to prevent that.
i was told ur not supposed to but my 2 boerboels sleep by me since day 1 at home lol. i already went on amazon and bought waterproof bed covers and it’s actually quite soft like regular blankets. saves my sheets too. i got 2 kinds, there’s one with a grippy bottom (like hospital socks) and a fleecier one with bed corners and a strap u could put around ur whole mattress. i think i like the 2nd one slightly better since it’s warming up here now. They are doing pretty well on this stuff so far.
It's extremely hard to get solid science data on which dog food is the best. Most of the blogs I find turn out to be deceptively-veiled ads for brands or just regular people who are overly excited about the latest trend in dog food based on intuition and not data. We try to be as science-based as you can with the info available.
Poor girl! So my puppy would get car sick and puke in the back of SUV or inside her kennel. However, she stopped getting car sick, once I put her in a car hammock — on my back seat. My dog loves the support of the bolsters, she wedges herself right against them and doesn’t fall out, which she tends to do with beds without bolsters.
Beef bone knuckles, or even the full femur. You can find these at a butcher or any decent pet store. About $15 but boy do they help.
Another huge hit that lasts a while is Hemilayian Yak bones. These are literally dried cheese sticks that are as hard as a bone. My dogs LOVE them.
I am so sorry to hear this. I lost my first girl to osteosarcoma 5 years ago. Penny was my souls dog and she was diagnosed when she was 5. How old is your beautiful girl?
We found it quite early and initially did radiation and chemo. We had to amputate after about 1 month because she broke the leg (not uncommon with osteosarcoma but awful.) In retrospect I would go straight to amputation because she did so great after the leg was gone. It’s a really painful cancer, and about 2 weeks after the surgery she was running around like her old self because that pain was gone. 4 months after her initial diagnosis she tore the CCL in her remaining back leg. At the time, there was no evidence of mets but both the oncologist and the surgeon who did her amputation recommended we put her to sleep because she likely wouldn’t recover from the CCL surgery. I was completely devastated.
If I had to do it all over, the chemo and amputation were definitely worth it. She was an active, playful girl and truly thrived post amputation. I’m happy she had a few more months where she could enjoy herself.
I highly recommend this book. It really helped with our decision to say goodbye, and was a great primer on all things canine cancer.
I am so sorry you both have been dealt this shitty hand. I hate for any dog owner to have to go through it
I don't recall how much our Dogue de Bordeaux weighed when she went into heat, but she was for sure nearly full size when she did, which is 120 pounds. For the entire cycle she wore two pair of these (so I could wash one set while another was being worn):

To save some washing, I bought full size womens pads to line them with. It worked wonderfully. We only had to use them the one time for a couple weeks, but they fit well and were a lifesaver.
By "kennel" you are referring to a portable crate, correct? I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding, or that you aren't asking for a true built-in kennel solution.
Assuming you mean a crate-type kennel, I'd suggest getting one big enough for when your puppy is full grown. At that point you want it to be big enough for them to stand up, turn around, lie down, etc. comfortably. This might mean something a little larger if it is an English Mastiff than if it is a slightly smaller Mastiff variation.
Get a crate big enough for the final height/weight of your puppy to do that. Then, get a divider for the crate if it doesn't come with one. The crate we started with had a divider wall that came with it. When our Bullmastiff was a puppy, we moved this divider as he got bigger, then eventually removed it completely. The idea is to give them enough room to get up, turn around, and lie down, but not enough room to have an accident in the crate without it being in their space.
Here is an example of a crate that might work, and a divider that could go in it:
There are cheaper options, or depending on the breed you might go with a slightly different sized crate, but that gives you a general idea.
She's wearing one of these in X-Large: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LHWLYEQ/
Not quite long enough but the best I could do. She really doesn't mind the cold at all so it's mostly to keep her dry.
Our vet, who raises mastiffs, suggested this to us:
Holistic Select Natural Dry Dog Food
We haven't had any problems and our Meatball loves it to death.
Although, on Saturday, he tried to convince me he loved used cat litter, too, so take that part with a grain of salt.
I got the biggest one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Sealy-Dog-Bed-Technology-Large/dp/B00G3D4TPU
Coconut likes it. one of her other beds is just the cushion from a papasan chair.
Whatever you get make sure it has a removable cover for easy cleaning.
Have you thought about trying some probiotics? Have you had a stool sample looked at by a vet?
We used a pinch collar on our 150# Neapolitan and still use it occasionally if I know we'll be in an area with new strange dogs and smells. It looks terribly cruel, but honestly it was recommended by so many trainers and does prevent her from pulling when on leash. http://www.amazon.com/Herm-Sprenger-Collar-16-Inch-Millimeter/dp/B0006L0UGW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1442264725&sr=8-2&keywords=dog+training+pinch+collar
Agreed with this - get her fixed ASAP, and get her a crate. Also, we have a dog that didn't have the best upbringing as well, and can be a little hostile to our other dogs, but it's not really fair to just keep him kennelled all the time. So, we got him a muzzle, similar to this - I'll have to look for the actual brand over lunchbreak. It now allows us to have all the dogs out together while keeping everyone safe, and is also free enough that he can still drink water, etc. It's been a real game-changer, and is worth every penny.
Trobo! I was never able to get Cocobutt on the Kuranda but it supported me just fine (180 lbs). It was the aluminum and heavy duty vinyl model with a slip cover, ~$150.
Her current bed is $60 round futon cushion:
http://www.amazon.com/Cotton-Craft-Chocolate-Overstuffed-Comfortable/dp/B00GMHWXBY/
with a washable cover:
http://www.amazon.com/Brown-Papasan-Cushion-Cover-ties/dp/B00HGT1GXI/ (this shit is overpriced in my opinion but it's apparently not a very common product so I had trouble finding it for cheaper elsewhere.)
She'll actually use it occasionally (pretty much only when there's no room for her on the couch)
