I just replaced mine a couple of days ago, super easy and recommended if you have no proof it hasn't been done before.
This is what I got (can't find the link for the pack of 4): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J62NNAC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would recommend trying a lumbar support pillow. Here's a good one that I use which fits my 2010 NC miata driver seat well. It's a lifesaver on long road trips. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W9J718Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have this:

And I also installed some of these on driver door and between seat and transmission tunnel:

I have an NC1 with Bose system. Although it has an integrated Changer for 6 CDs, it features a connector for an external CD-Changer as well.
I bought this Bluetooth adapter, that plugs into that port at the back of the radio and pretends to be a cd-changer towards the stereo system. This adapter lets me connect my phone via bluetooth and stream music, google maps audio directions into my stereo system. Since it has a jack for a microphone (that came in the box), it also serves as hands-free device. I just squashed the mic into the gap right next to the steering column. Quality isn't great, but I am understood, even with roof down.
It even utilizes the steering wheel controls, both for music and for accepting/declining calls as well. I am a huge fan of that little box in my glove box.

I can second this. No photos from me, but I got a similar setup using this mount. But one has to keep in mind that this mount does not support holding the phone in landscape view. It’s portrait only which I don’t mind actually.
If you want to hide you’re wires elegantly
It might be the easiest, I already know the CD Slot mount works brilliand on the NC radio, I will replace the hook for a magsafe.
Hopefully the diameter on those balls is standard
thanks
My CD slot mount was originally not MagSafe; it was similar to this (specific one is no longer available):

I swapped the head of the ESR (MagSafe - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NT9NPDD/ ) onto the ball joint and was able to keep using the mount location.
There is the slight possibility that any other CD slot mount might not have the matching ball joint size to fit the ESR, but this is what I would recommend doing if you want to keep the CD slot mounting location.
You will probably want a ground loop to cut down on interference from engine rpm

This is absolutely the right answer. As a turbo NC owner who lives in north FL, I can attest to the benefits of proper airflow thru the radiator/condenser stack, especially when stopped.
I plan to use a similar valve that is vacuum actuated.
There are two things you can do to help the AC work better:
1) Install hood vents so that more air moves through the condenser, allowing the system to dissipate more heat energy.
2) Bypass the heater core. Coolant flows through the heater core at all times in the NC and even when you have the temperature control on full cold, the air is still heated above outside ambient temperatures. So with the factory configuration, your AC has to not only cool off the outside air, but it also has to cool the additional heat radiating from the heater core.
I've done step 1, although it's winter here in Tucson so I can't really tell if it makes much of a difference yet (the car most definitely does take a bit longer to warm up from dead cold though). I'm in the process of bypassing the heater core. This isn't hard but I want it to look discreet and polished so I'm probably going to re-route some hoses to get it the way I want.
I'm using this valve: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0989GCHX6/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o04\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
BTW, there's no telling how long the website will be up. I'm sure if Mazda were to catch wind, they'd probably send a C&D order. I'd recommend downloading the entire site using a tool like this. It takes a bit of tweaking, but you can get everything to download properly, including the flash-based wiring diagrams.
Me too. It'll be dark when I take off in the morning so I'll check it out then if I don't tonight and post a picture. I used yellow tint from Amazon. It was under 'JDM Yellow Tint' I found some pink tint here that looks to be the same type I used. It has adhesive on it so no heat was needed.

Yeah I read that about the screwdriver but I wasn’t entirely sure I understood. Do you shove the screwdriver up through the hole in the bottom of the chassis and then through spacer as you slide it in?
I’ve got a drill block that somewhat forces perfect perpendicular drilling to the work surface. I’m hoping the areas to drill are flat enough that I can use it. Hopefully that’ll cut down on the filing. I’ll make sure I have some good round files on hand.

Seems as though you have already installed a USB input into the 12v socket? I imagine it’d work ok on any 12v USB plug? I bought a made in China BT receiver and it operates via a spare radio channel so yeah there is often some crackling interference which is bloody annoying given I have the standard Bose audio - the sound is so clear playing a CD. My Baseus CD mobile phone holder is ‘ok’ but upon decent acceleration it simply falls out. What’s good about the BT receiver is it’s wireless and I can answer calls and select next track etc from the unit and put the phone away - does the Firelfy hook into your steering wheel audio controls or you have to change songs on the phone?
I bought one of these leather insert cupholders. It slips between the passenger seat and center console and works pretty well for holding my phone. Highly recommend as a cupholder too, since the door ones don't work for most drinks.
I use a Velcro-backed mesh pouch on the passenger side of the center console. The carpet comes up pretty high so it works well. This one holds an iPhone 11 Pro Max with a slim case comfortably. There are smaller ones out there if you don’t have a monster phone.
