the Gigabyte M32u might be cheaper at $759.99 (us link) and it's also 4K 32' at 144hz.

God damn it there are no good monitors on the market at a reasonable price. I bought my monitor 5 years ago, maybe more. It is 144hz, 1080p, freesync. I got it for $300. I look for anything better, and it is $700+ Why? Shouldn't prices over 5 years go down.
Just found the updated version of my monitor. 5 years later is it still $300. Sad. I looked in my software and confirmed they are the same name model just one is 2020 and mine is 2015. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=asus+monitor+1080p+144hz&qid=1608659353&s=electronics&sr=1-4
Anyone know if this is the same panel inside this monitor? Same number of dimming zones? 16 I think?

You're very welcome and same! I might preorder the AOC as I have enough Amazon credits.
There is also this Philips monitor which releases in two days and I've seen others post it, has cool features like the built-in KVM switch and up to 90W USB Type-C Power Delivery port. For $30 more but it's also 44hz refresh rate less than the AOC.

I just happened to find two listings, one on Amazon and the other on Newegg however most of the information appears to support only 60hz and no adaptive-sync (Freesync not Gsync).
The Amazon listing shows conflicting information of 60hz in the "Features and Details" yet the description shows 240hz: Due note that none of these appear to be sold by MSI or Amazon (I've also checked MSI' site for a different SKU of the Optix MAG products but only the one debuted for gaming of 240hz at CES 2020 rivaled to the Asus XG17 Portable Gaming Monitor at 240hz.
