Well, you can't blame them for raising the rent when the lease ends, that's driven by the market. But the way they handled your issue sounds like a nightmare and does not bode well.
There is an independent message board system at nextdoor.com which is designed to get people in a subdivision or apartment complex talking to each other; someone at my complex (not the landlords) must have started it because I got a flyer in my mailbox with a specific code to join. Maybe you can see if there is one setup for dwell already, or start it. My guess is that there might be some strength in numbers for what you have to deal with in the future.
I got this and you can set it up so that it only goes off for tornado warnings (you can make it go off for dozens of different kinds of weather, but that’s all I cared about). It went off for me last night (quite loud even inside my bedside drawer) even when my phone never gave any alert. (Technically we were 2 blocks outside the official warning area so that’s probably why it wasn’t on my phone but I’d rather be safe than sorry.)

I've got this one. Haven't had to use it in an emergency yet but it's definitely gonna come in handy for hurricane season. I don't live in Naperville anymore (unfortunately) but we still have to worry about tornadoes in southeast Louisiana, especially when hurricanes come around.
Using this antenna, I pickup 56 channels 60 miles away in Braidwood. In Naperville, you would get at least 80.

> It's a cash grab in the sense that they are charging more than their cost of the growler, if they charged the $2.50 it probably costs them it may be a little different I guess.
No... Most breweries I've been to sell their own growler bottles and allow you to use your own to refill them. So I'd be ok with a brewery charging whatever amount they want for a bottle. I've paid $20 for an empty growler in a different state so I'm not too antsy about the $5 charge. So charge whatever you'd like for an empty growler, but also be flexible to allow others.
I'm salty because I have one of these bad boys and it keeps beer fresher for a LOT longer than the shitty ones SOB and other breweries use. I've used it in CO and on the coasts so many times but I'm not allowed to use it anymore because they want to make a measly $5
