ESPN comes with Sling TV. I've never had Sling... it doesn't work for me since we have 3 or 4 TVs in the house and you can only use it on one at a time. But it seems like a good deal if you fit in their little setup.
I'd say your TV bundle is much less than most people pay. I have Google Fiber Kansas City and the TV/Internet bundle is $130, internet only is $70. If I wanted sports/basic cable, I would get a Sling subscription which runs at $20
If you're a cord cutter like me you can use https://www.hulu.com/live-tv or https://tv.youtube.com/welcome/ and it will count with Nielsen ratings. Both offer free trials!
Edit, Sling TV as well! https://www.sling.com
>Be sure to use those two exact links to sign up for Sling TV and to redeem your promo code or you will not qualify for the offer.
That's straight up BS. Look at the links:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1002997141&tag=aftvndeal-20
http://www.amazon.com/redeemslingtvoffer?tag=aftvndeal-20
These parts, ?tag=aftvndeal-20 and &tag=aftvndeal-20 are affiliate tags so the website gets a kickback. Use those exact links only if you want to help the website make money.
EDIT: The direct Sling TV page gives the full information... a great deal on Roku, not just Fire TV. As has been pointed out later in this thread, OP submitted a link to a Fire TV news website, which is why it doesn't mention the Roku deal. So I can't get mad at a website doing what it was created to do, but I'm disappointed people upvoted this submission. I went to submit the direct Sling TV deal and found it was already submitted and got only 2 upvotes.
PSA: Due to COVID-19, Sling TV is currently free, so anyone in the US can legally watch the finale tonight live on Cartoon Network! You don’t even need to give them a credit card! Make a free account, give them your zip code, and you’re ready to start watching live.
If you decide to buy the Roku Stick I'd suggest buying a month of Sling TV @ $20 and you get a free Roku Stick. You can cancel immediately after your account is active and it will cancel at the end of your billing cycle.
Sling directly carries NBC and Fox locals in some markets. The locast integration has been replaced now with an OTA antenna and tuner combo called AirTV. https://www.sling.com/programming/local-channels
CHANGE IS COMING
check out SLING tv https://www.sling.com/ $20 for a few channels(including espn) . pay $5 for the channels that you want more of
HBO NOW $15 for HBO and just HBO https://order.hbonow.com/
Showtime... coming soon
Well...that might not be true anymore depending on what channels you need. Football is sometimes aired on local channels and Dish just released a new streaming live TV service: Sling TV. They carry ESPN as well as an additional package with the suite of ESPN channels.
I haven't tried it myself (and admittedly, I don't watch live sports myself), but it's the first time I've seen a provider even make forays into this realm without an existing TV package.
Get an internet only plan (I pay $40/mo for mine) and then you might want to look into Sling...which I think will run you another $40/mo with the sports package. You'll probably save at least $75 a month.
I've been saying this for a year!!!
If you pay for 6 months of the International Sports package they will even send you a FREE roku!!!
Edit: Link to the package https://www.sling.com/international-sports
Sling picture quality and stability has improved since it first launched. We had no problems watching the Walking Dead and Better Call Saul premiers this past season.
Sling TV. $20/month, no contract, includes ESPN, TNT, and a bunch of others. It's always worked great for me. I picked it up last year thinking I'd just keep it for college football season, but I haven't dropped it yet.
Use this link to get their "Happy Hour" promo which will get you channels from 7PM to Midnight. It is a Coronavirus special, so might be good past 7 days or it might end tomorrow. I just signed up and nothing but an email address, password and zipcode is required.
Sling International has a World Sports standalone package for $10/m or $80/yr. It gets you the main beInSports English and Spanish channels, but none of the extra numbered channels, and you don't get access to the beInSports apps. Two additional simultaneous streams and Cloud DVR can be added on for $5 each.
TW's internet isn't terrible. The speeds I pay for I consistently receive.
Now the cable... go ahead and cut it. I've never had cable. For the Superbowl, NBA finals, CBS, ABC... all the local channels you can get with an antenna over the air. The major sports events are on those channels.
As for ESPN... the best way to get that/those channels would probably be through Sling TV. The basic intro package is $20 & gives you ESPN & ESPN2. They have an add-on package for $5 that adds ESPNU, SEC ESPN, ESPNEWS, & a few others.
So for the price of TW internet, 25 bucks for Sling, and a cheap over the air antenna... you're covered.
Check out Sling. $10 for your first month, $35 after that. 50 hours of DVR storage, TNT and TBS (so you can watch when it moves over to there in January). AXS TV is included as well if you want to check out Impact Wrestling, Stadium as well for Ring of Honor
Correct the 5$ addon includes the 3 additional Epix channels (Epix 1 & 2, Hits).. You already should be getting Epix Drive-In by subbing to the Sling Blue or Orange package..

It's owned and operated by Dish Network, but it is streamed over your internet connection, and it is as close to "cutting the cord" and "pay per channel" that you can get at this point in time.
Internet streaming service. You can stream to a computer or a roku or mobile device.
I pay $25 a month (no contract) because I get the SEC network, but if you're just looking for ESPN / ESPN2 it's $20 a month. Their website shows what channels are available at what tier.
You can get ESPN streamed via Sling TV. This is a service, not the Sling Box Appliance. $20 a month and no contract. ESPN, ESPN2 and some other channels (Food network, history channel, AMC, TNT)
I do not work for Sling TV and have no interest in the company :)
I'll get ESPN on sling when basketball season starts back up. For football I just use streams found on /r/nflstreams. I use /r/nbastreams for a lot of the wolves games now, because they are never on ESPN/TNT. I do have a tv antenna which I got from radio shack around here thats closing for like $5. It gives me all the basic, like cbs, fox, abc and pbs and what not for free. Really good image and what not too.
You are actually in luck. Have you heard of SlingTV? Now you can get all of ESPNs channels in a streaming service for $25 a month. Do you also want ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX available to you as well? Go over to TV Fool, type in your location, and be amazed at all of the different channels you can get for free after you buy a capable antenna (which doesn't need to be more than $35 for an indoor one). The best part is they're all broadcast in uncompressed HD, so you actually get a better picture than you do through cable/satellite. Really the only thing you need is a decent internet subscription, and since most providers doubled their speeds recently at no extra cost to consumers you should already have that.
The tools finally exist to make it happen without having to scrounge around the internet for streams to different games. Now consumers just need to be made aware that they're out there. Everything I told you is only the tip of the iceberg. If you look around on [r/cordcutters](www.reddit.com/r/cordcutters) and [r/htpc](www.reddit.com/r/htpc) you can see what numerous others have done after cutting the cord.
PlayStation Vue and SlingTV are aiming to do that. But premium channels like HBO will likely not be included, and have their own standalone services.
According to Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV in his AMA:
> We don't want to re-create the cable model, which is why we are being very selective with the channels we are offering. We want to keep the price low while giving consumers the ability to customize their package with our genre add-ons.
AMC hasn't been implemented yet, and they already have programming tiers that aren't unreasonable. Lets give them a chance and the benefit of the doubt.
This is the current genre packages if you havent seen them yet:
Nobody knows. You can submit a request for it here, but no guarantee they do anything.
https://support.google.com/youtubetv/contact/new_network_request
In the mean time, the Sing international sports pack for $10/mo is a decent value.
I just signed up for a free trial and $10 bucks a month after that for Sling TV World Sports Package. I figure BeIN will give in at some point in the next few months.
~~We are not sure if Sling counts!~~ Edit: I had outdated information! This seems to be correct, just make sure you don't opt out!
Article here. Better to do YouTube TV or Hulu TV, we know they count.
Long time Apple guy here so nothing less than ATV4 and I just got the free one from my 3 month prepay I'm going to wrap it and gift it to my wife so she can put it in the Loft and stay upstairs more 💪🏾, might take sling TV's new $89 dollar offer just so I can put another Apple TV in my office 🤑😂 if anyone is interested: https://www.sling.com/devices/appletv
If your desperate, https://www.sling.com, or purchase the show your interested in on Google Play/iTunes the day after it airs. The savings from Comcast's shitty service will more than cover the cost.
The blame rests on AMC probably forcing Google to take it's whole suite of channels (IFC, WeTV, Sundance) and asking too much for it. As Google amasses subscribers it will gain more bargaining power. Dish went through a similar dispute back in 2012 with AMC.
Or you could go totally legit. Sling is only $20/mo and gets you ESPN. Plus Sling accounts will get you into watchESPN, so even though Sling itself doesn't have the full lineup of ESPN channels, you're still covered.
> Plus, if you want ESPN, or a handful of other channels, cable is the only reliable way at the moment. That may change in a few years.
Negative. Sling (https://www.sling.com/) has ESPN + ESPN2 available as part of their base package at $20 per month. If you want the rest of the ESPNs (U, RedZone, SEC, etc) it's a $5 per month add on. You can literally get all of ESPN + a bunch of other stuff for $25 a month.
Oh, and Sling is 100% legal in the United States and is owned and operated by Dish.
As new-ish cordcutter the only content I have difficulty obtaining legally are regional networks that have college sports. Things like BTN (Big Ten Network) are, for now, unavailable via legal means. Otherwise all the pro sports now have streaming packages. NFL, NHL, MLS, MLB even WWE if that's your thing!
HBO, Showtime, EPIX, Sundance, AMC, Disney, PBS, History & History2, it's all there and perfectly legal.
Pair that with Amazon Prime or VUDU for on-demand movies and you've easily replicated 99% of the cable experience without the bullshit.
Use a ROKU, an AppleTV, a FIRE TV, or a Windows Media PC as a set top box. Done.
I know it works because I'm doing it. I torrent nothing, all my content is 100% legal, and watch darn near everything that I ever did...and so does the wife.
Broadcast channels you get for free in HD with an indoor antenna. Now a days with isp bandwidth caps I wouldn't waste the cap watching stuff I can get over the air for free and unlimited.
Also, I am by no means advocating this sling tv company. Just putting it out there for those who don't know. Since I do not own it I can't critique the finer points of it. I do know they have addon packages though.
There gets to be a point though where paying for tons of channels you don't want is no different than just paying cable companies to do the same. Especially when you consider overage fees on bandwidth caps. It's not like we are getting away from the cable companies anyway. People like to say they are "cord cutters", yet continue to keep paying the same company for their internet service. It's hard to escape when there are no options.
I would personally prefer an a la carte service (from either cable companies or streaming service). Where I can pick just the channels I care about and pay for those only.
Is this year still exclusively on NBC and NBCSN?
If so, and if you are in a market where Sling Blue has NBC, then Sling Blue for $35 per month might work. Not sure about their DVR.
Sling has a deal with AirTV to bring over the air local channels into the Sling interface.
https://www.sling.com/supported-devices/airtv
But - it depends on how good your antenna reception is. If you have crappy reception it won't miraculously make it better.
It does not look like Discovery channels went to both blue and orange (at least based on the website)
https://www.sling.com/channels?classification=us
Looks like TLC & Discovery were blue; Investigation Discovery went to both. AHC & Destination America went to heartland extra. Science went to News Extra. Motortrend (old Velocity) went to Orange.
No Animal Planet as of the time of this post.
Consider subscribing to Sling TV ($25 per month) or DirectTV Now ($35+ per month) so you can watch the show as it airs. That also gives you access to the episodes on demand once they've aired. Not to mention a couple dozen channels of live TV and plenty of on demand content. (Both services offer a free trial)
Pretty good deal IMO for a few months a year.
This Sling Tv help page has a zip code tool to check which local channels are available. If Fox is on demand only for your market, it is listed as on demand.
Sling TV is also advertising coverage in four additional languages on its Sling TV International packages plus the $10 World Sports package. which if you know French or Portuguese is a pretty good deal. (includes 8 day look back and DVR).
Surprised no one has said this yet. Sling TV on a roku, Amazon fire, XBox. Hell you could even run it thorugh a PC/laptop. $25 a month gets you NFL Redzone, $45 adds ESPN.
https://www.sling.com/international-sports
I've had this for 2 years. 10 bucks a month, I get every Barcelona league game on Bein Sports (plus for some reason an inordinate amount of Bilbao games on Bein Sports Espanol, which is awesome). I cancel in May and restart in August. Usually has Ray Hudson and Phil Schoen commentating on Barcelona games.
If you want to watch Fox Sports Midwest without cable your best option is to sign up for Sling TV's Sling Blue package. Go to https://www.sling.com/service, click "Sling Blue", click "show my available sports networks" to confirm your address will receive Fox Sports Midwest. You will also get a lot more sports channels on Sling Blue. It's $25 per month, but no contract so you can sign up for only the months you want to watch sports. You can stream it through their app on a Roku or Amazon Fire TV. This is the only legal way to watch Fox Sports Midwest without cable!
SlingTV has a decent sports selection or for if they dont have your local stuff, then get a tuner.
I like these but I wouldn't pay for an extra stream. That should be standard.
Looks like the Xbox One app may be on the way. It says "Xbox...coming soon" on their website. Could be 360 or both I suppose. I was hoping for PS4 but I would settle for 360.
So glad AMC has finally arrived.
I don't know how you omitted it either, they do have a link to supported devices available from the main webpage: https://www.sling.com/supported-devices
It's also available on Microsoft Edge if you're unsure about sharing your information with Google!
Well, you don't NEED a subscription to view content, but it depends on what content you want to view.
There are many free channels with on demand content. Also things like Pluto TV.
but to watch conventional "cable" channels like CNN & such, you need a service provider. There are a few streaming providers. Sling gives you a few channels for ~$25 a month. You pay additional per channel package. Playstation Vue and others give you a bigger package for ~$45 a month.
If she's signing up with SlingTV, they will often throw in a free Roku or free Fire Stick. ...actually, I just looked, at present you can apparently get your choice. Here: https://www.sling.com/devices/offers
Are you on Linux? If you get redirected to https://www.sling.com/devices you need to disable the supported platform check.
Press Ctrl+Shift+J to open the JavaScript Console (or find it via the More Tools -> Developer tools menu).
Paste this into the bottom of the JavaScript Console & press Enter:
localStorage.setItem('sling.disablePlatformCheck', true);
Reload the page again.
The setting is sticky so you won't need to do it again unless you clear your browser's cache.
Or just get a User-Agent Switcher browser extension, I guess.
For those that don't have cable (or a friend to get credentials from), signing up for Sling's 7-day trial period got me in. When you go to choose your cable provider on ESPN's site, just choose SlingTV -- no special device required (although works with Roku).
I recently did something like this for my mom. She ended up saving something like $30-$40 a month off her bill.
First check the FCC's digital reception TV Transition map to see what you can get for broadcast (http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/). Then you can get a converter and antenna for ~$120 (that's what my mom ended up paying).
If you want more channels you can also get SlingTV for about $20 a month (https://www.sling.com). They have 23 channels in their basic package and several other packages (sports, kids, news, movies, etc) for just and extra $5 a month. HBO is $15 a month. You will need to buy a Roku device, Fire TV device, Nexus Player, or Xbox to stream it to your TV. They also have Windows/MAC/Android/IOS apps.
SlingTV is running a couple deals right now where you can get a Roku stick for free when you sign up. Or a Roku 3 or a Nexus Player for $50 when you sign up.
With the Sling TV option you will obviously still need to keep your internet but hopefully this option will save you some money and keep you entertained.
Edit: fixed a word
HBO is available outside of Apple devices via Sling - https://www.sling.com/HBO No cable. No contract. No Apple devices.
No I'm not a sales person, just a very happy customer that wants Sling to succeed as the first real viable option for TV over IP that breaks up the existing model
I don't have Sling currently, but it looked like if you went to my account you can add these additional subscriptions to your current account such as sling blue like The Hollywood Extra.

This was a good summary from last year
https://www.sling.com/help/en/account-questions/account-changes/change-subscription
In the past, I've switched to Sling Blue for the Olympics: https://www.sling.com/service
Sling Blue ($35 - $10 first month): NBC, NBCSN, USA (Free: 50hr DVR; $5: 200hr DVR)
Sports Extra ($11): Olympic Channel, Golf
News Extra ($5): CNBC
First month cost: $10 + 10 + 5 = $25
Peacock: Free: Stream Gymnastics, Track & Field; Premium ($4.99): Men's Basketball
Look at getting Sling TV, and going with the 'Blue' channel package. $15 a month and gets you access to the Fox Sports regional channels as long as your in the Fox Sports Sun TV market. They have apps that work on all major streaming devices, smartphones and PCs. Also gets you a login to Fox Sports Go as well I believe.
Sling TV offers a World Sports package for $10/month that gets you Bein Sports and Bein Sports en Espanol. You can add DVR which gets you 50 hours for an extra $5/month.
Not sure there is a cheaper legit option.
Team Channel 1A
Team Channel 1B
Highlight Channel 1
Match 360 1
Cable Cam
Team Channel 2A
Team Channel 2B
Highlight Channel 2
Match 360 2
Cable Cam 2
...are all available on Sling's line-up.

Sling International Sports Package $10/mo: https://www.sling.com/international-sports
I was doing some hunting as I’m also a pretty big soccer fan, and I found an old package I used to use through Sling World Sports TV. I’m trial-hopping around DirecTV Now and Fubo right now, but I think I’m going to settle on Youtube Live, but sign up for this: https://www.sling.com/international-sports/annual. $80 a year for BeIN sports and includes a free Roku Stick. Comes out to about $6.50 a month, so between that and Youtube, I’d be at $41 which is doable.
I use a Roku Express, (You'll get one for free if you sign up for 2 months of Sling), and it works excellent for me. It's not blazingly fast by any means, but it's 100% ussable, and there's thousands of channels of free content available for it. If you also take advantage of free trials, you can get premium content for free for about a year as well.
It's on Fox 26. Usually one of the easier channels to pickup in town with an OTA antenna.
It's also being streamed, http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/live-stream
And I've heard Twitter might be streaming it as well.
You can also do a 7 day free trial for SlingTV. They have Fox 26 as one of their channels.
See sidebar:
>You can also stream the episode by using the official Cartoon Network website if you have a cable provider, and Sling TV by Dish Network if you don't. They're both official!
Discussion of any unofficial methods isn't allowed on this sub as per the rules. Sorry 'bout that.
we cut the cord 4 years ago. have netflix and hulu. we bought an antenna thinking we would watch local once and awhile. in the last 4 years we have watched the local channels once a year. that's the thanksgiving parade while family is over.
it's interesting to see people scared not having them. we are so hooked with our phones/laptops/ipads we honestly don't have any desire to switch to local.
we even tried sling (https://www.sling.com/) for a week and got so tired of the "live" aspect of the tv shows we cancelled.
When I did it, the Roku stick was given to me by them; I believe the discounts were done through a code but I'm not 100% sure.
Regardless, I think they have a better promo through Best Buy that will ultimately get you a free Nexus Player - $50 credit for 3 months paid upfront.
You can get several ESPN channels (plus some others) on Sling TV plus their sports package for a total of $25 a month. It sounds like they're aiming to add more sports related channels which would be real nice.
One World Sports.
I used sling TV.
https://www.sling.com/international-sports
If you have Amazon Fire TV, Roku, iOS, Android, Mac, or PC you can subscribe, i think they even have a 30 day free if you already have one of those devices.
Sling TV on the Roku works great, watched last night Cosmos game on it and usually watch the Tuesday NASL program (NASL this week). With the Roku app (not sure about others) you can replay for 24 hours any program.
A few months ago, my husband and I got Sling TV which is through the Dish Network. You pay $20 per month, but you get HGTV, Food Network, Travel, ESPN/ESPN2, Disney, ABC Family, and many others. Check out the details here: https://www.sling.com/
https://www.sling.com/ is pretty awesome and legal. You could do the free trial if you're interested. Only way i watch tv now.
(if you do 3 months at once you can get a free roku stick which is 50 bucks normally too)
However, ESPN in the US is starting to move away from cable packages. Sling TV for instance, will stream the channels and provides content on demand.
It is interesting too that Sling.com now has blocked access from Canada.
HGTV will just be recorded stuff. If you want, live and are getting a Roku, you may look into Sling TV
$20.00/mo for live TV . HGTV plus a bunch of others.
This is watchable on not only roku, but mobiles, computers, and (coming soon) Gaming consoles.
That being said, the Roku 3 is awesome. So much content.
Netflix and Hulu are definitely worth the money. I signed up for Sling TV to get the free Roku Stick, but I'm not sure I'll keep it after the three months I paid for. If you're cutting the cord for the first time, I'd recommend all three + the Roku deal. $20 a month is worth it for ESPN alone (if you're a sports fan), but I acquired a friend's WatchESPN password, so it's not completely essential for me.
Netflix and Hulu are definitely worth the $18 total a month. If you're not a sports fan, you can find almost anything you'd want to watch between the two.
Yeah I might try to contact Sling customer service to figure it out, because I ran into a contradiction during the process, which I will outline below.
What I just did was go to Sling Free, which you can do here: https://www.sling.com/deals/sling-free
Then when that loaded, I clicked on the Rental tab which goes here: https://watch.sling.com/browse/movie-rentals
Full Gear's rental is right at the top, so I clicked that.
That brings me to a popup that says, >"In order to purchase this rental, please provide an email and payment method. You will only be charged for this rental. Please click continue to enter your information."
However, when I click continue, it tries to force me to sign up for a plan (for $10 as a "discounted plan,") and I can't find a way around it. That's a direct contradiction of the "you will only be charged for this rental" pop up.
I'll contact customer service and see if I can get an answer on how to do it (if it's still possible). Very annoying.
If you are able to get good Over The Air (OTA) signal for your local channels, and you want to go with Sling, I would recommend their AirTV 2: https://www.sling.com/supported-devices/airtv
It allows you to watch local OTA channels and record them if you attach an external hard drive.
Is your TV compatible with the Sling app?

Local channels are subject to availability.. so some markets will have a network while others may not. For example in NYC I have both NBC and Fox. check out this link to see if Fox (and down for nbc) are available in your city.
NFL Network and NFL RedZone are only available in Blue's Sports Extra. (I can confirm that it is there.) The add-on page doesn't show everything. See here:
First, check to see if sling offers NBC in your area: https://www.sling.com/help/en/subscription-programming-questions/channels-programming/local-channels#nbcdma
Blue will give you access to the NBC Channel and NBC Sports network. You’ll need to add the sports package if you want all of the NBC sports channels (Golf, Olympic Channel).
If NBC isn’t in your area on sling, check Fubo. If it’s available there, PM me and I’ll send you a link for a free 7-day trial of Fubo which will include up to $30 off your first month if you decide to subscribe.
https://www.sling.com/help/en/tech-questions/device-questions/multiple-screens
>You can watch SLING on all of your favorite compatible devices. The number of devices on which content can be watched at the same time varies based on the service you subscribe to:
If you subscribe to our SLING Orange service you watch on one screen at a time. Any extras you add to your SLING Orange service will be included in your single stream.
If you subscribe to our SLING Blue service you can watch on up to three screens at one time. Any extras you add to your SLING Blue service will be included in your three streams.
Get Internet essentials for $10/month, it includes a modem (no added rental fee).
Then get her an Ooma for voice (http://ooma.com) - you only pay the monthly taxes for services (about $5/month depending where you live).
Then just have her get a streaming TV package like Sling (https://www.sling.com/) for $35/month.
Internet+Phone+TV = $10+5+35 = $50/month.
It's a known issue they're working on according to their website. Try calling to cancel if your renewal date is coming up within the next few days.
Should have done more research. Sling can integrate your antenna channels in to their service. So you never needed an expensive DVR like the TiVo.
https://www.sling.com/supported-devices/antenna
All you really need is a cheap streaming stick, like the TiVo Stream 4K or Roku.
There is also Amazon Recast which is a DVR and works with Sling and OTA. That's probably the device you should have purchased to do what you tried to do with Edge.
If it's not too late, just return the TiVo and get the right solution for your needs, for a lot less money.
Sling only offers fox and nbc locals. Have you looked at their locals finder guide? It's on their page and let's you see what you will get at your address .
That button always has issues, I tried to talk to Sling over chat and they weren't any help on it. I figured out that the button is supposed to redirect you to this page: https://www.sling.com/account maybe that will help you and you can fix your account there. I currently pay for a Sling membership and I have to use that link to manage my account.
Try this link. If it works, make sure and add the $10 sports package and don't forget to set a reminder to cancel lol.
Sling TV is $25 a month.
With Sling Blue you get ~50 channels which include NBCsn. You can cancel any time. Get it for the month.
You can watch on desktop, mobile, or like me, on my Roku.

Yea I know crazy right ? But you have to call or email them they dont really advertise it or let you access it on the site. But yea it works thats all.
Looks like the breakdown is the following:
https://www.sling.com/channels?classification=us
TLC & Discovery are on Sling blue; Investigation Discovery went to both Blue & Orange. AHC & Destination America went to heartland extra. Science went to News Extra. Motortrend (old Velocity) went to Orange.
No Animal Planet as of the time of this post.
Sling Blue (25$) + 'News Extra' addon (5$) = 30$ a month
Package info: https://www.sling.com/service
Edit: You didn't mention the other channels you require so this is based off of the cheapest method to get MSNBC.
You have to call and talk to somebody. When my original subscription ran out last year I had to sign up again and could not find the package I had anywhere. I called and they set me up with no problem.
edit: somebody else found this link -> https://www.sling.com/international-sports#offer-details-open
My backup $6.7/month Sling International Sports backup package comes in handy in these situations. It's just that their stream quality isn't even close to DTVN.
Here is that plan. Good deal from what I have heard. Also check out fubotv.
Sling International has it in its standalone World Sports package. It's normally $10/mo or $80/yr, though they are running some World Cup deals right now. Cloud DVR or extra streams are $5/mo each.
You can use the Sling login with beIN Sports' apps now. So you don't have to deal with Sling's app if you don't care about the other channels.
Per Sling's terms of use, section 1.3, no. I would likely say that since DirecTV offers commercial-use packages, that wouldn't work either.
Ah. Looks like the deal is hidden from their device offer page. The link I used is: https://www.sling.com/airtv-player
That link should get you a AirTV for 1 month prepaid Sling service. It is a hidden deal, I think meant for people like me who used to use Sling, but cancelled the service later. You can get the offer even if you've never used Sling. I tested that by registering a new account, and going through the checkout process, without buying of course.
I use SlingTV with Espanol option, $30 a month I think for the whole thing. It adds Galavision, Univision, Unimas, EstrellaTV, and Azteca, and bunch of soccer channels. Most of those channels have a 3 day "go back and watch" thing as on-demand. I get it mostly for BeIn channels and Univision TDN which have a lot of soccer and oddly Univision is the best place to watch MLS.

A total of $40 for service plus a "free" device.
