No, actually, it is not like the English word "new" but more like "no" with a hint of a "u" sound on the end. It is very hard to explain, I am from Madrid but I have friends from Barcelona and I've heard them say it like this, and the Spanish commentators say it as well. Because I can't really explain it, here is a link of two men from Spain pronouncing it. One of them is from near Barcelona and I believe it is is the first link, he does a good job of enunciating.

Few days ago, Shakira had a baby. It seems that for last few years, Barca is having a lot of babies!

Going to take a stab at this since I am studying for my accounting designation and just took a quick look at the 2015 financials. Obviously a lot could have changed since these were released but I can highlight a few things.

Also this financial report didn't have a cash flow statement which will be more helpful with the analysis.

I can highlight a few points.

• Our short term debt increased from $267m to $368m. Short term debt are debt that has to be paid within the year although prior year's financials state that some are renewed after the year. A lot are attributed to the investments in acquiring players last season (Suarez, Mathieu, Vermaelen, Vidal).
• This is a huge issue since the Statutes has a maximum net debt to earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) ratio of 2.75 and we are currently at 3.24.
• This ratio is basically looking at FCB's ability to decrease the debt it owes. The higher the worse. In order to decrease this, Barça have forecasted that in 2016 will need to spend less on player acquisition and make sure EBITDA is higher.
• This also gives us a negative working capital. Which means if we had to pay off all the debt today, we will have negative cash left.
• In summary, we have too much debt and the board wants to decrease it for 2016.

Also take this lightly but 1) there were no cash flow statements so I couldn't analyze 2) I didn't look at any other football team financials, maybe the high debt thing is completely normal. BBC streams all the games free live on their website. Problem is, you have to be in the UK to get access. Solution: download a VPN (Private Internet Access, for example, or another one that gives you the option of which server to use). That recent book by Simon Kuper has a wonderful description of how outmatched Bartomeu was in his job. Kuper really knows the structure of the big teams in Europe and he was astonished by how naive and out-to-school the Barca board was.

Only shit thing is the La Liga TV channel has a tendency to go crazy every few weeks. To the point where its not watchable because the image and audio cut in and out. It hasnt done so for a a couple months which has been nice, but its a known issue with Sling and a few channels actually, but they dont do anything to fix it permanently (although they may have now lol)

And be wary, as the channel only shows La Liga TV in 4 hour segments on the guide. So you cant set it to record a specific game if you wish. You have to record La Liga TV at the time the game is, and often you have to record 2 blocks of the show to catch the full game. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of.

If you only want to watch La Liga, Sling's international sports package is $60 a year and gives you Bein. Tbh, quality is not as consistent as ESPN plus or Peacock, but it's generally fine.

Garcia was atrocious and tbh Araujo continues to not do enough in build up. We can blame the fullbacks all we want but central defense has been an issue on this squad for 5 seasons. That combined with a really poor performance from Pedri meant we never controlled the game the way we need to.
