Good question. It would be local noon - literally halfway between sunrise and sunset - at 19:00 GMT, so west of the US. Also, since the Earth's north pole is tipped away from the Sun, you'd need to be in the southern hemisphere very near to the Tropic of Capricorn. So, French Polynesia. I think Tahiti is close enough!

I've wanted to play with Node.js for a while and I'm pretty bored so I had a go.

The demo was just a simple HTML form which sent a GET request to the node.js script. The script parsed the request for the GET variable and sent that off to twitter. A HTTP 302 response was then sent redirecting the user to the expected google results page.

Also, I'm not too sure how durable that code is, so I expect it to break.

Edit: If the same terms are seached over and over, twitter rejects the status as a duplicate.

Adventure Mode is one of the three planned game modes in Minecraft from the start: Creative, Survival and Adventure. It's still very much a major end goal for the game, as far as we can tell, and there's no evidence it's been dropped so it's nonsensical to assume that without any evidence.

I put lighting data in a second texture, u is skylight, v is blocklight. To fade skylight, I just dynamically change the texture data.

Also, this means that skylight and blocklight can have different colors now. Nights are brighter, but tinted blue now. Blocklights are warm.

Headline is misleading. It seems to imply that there is an anti-leaking policy within Wikileaks, for Wikileaks staff. This is not the case. This is no doubt in response to The Guardian (and the NYTimes) where agreements were broken. There was a coalition of larger and smaller publicists across many countries, but of course the big boys wanted all the glory.

It should be considered how Assange and the other Wikileak's staff are literally risking their lives for journalism, yet the advertising revenue goes elsewhere. Why shouldn't the organisation seek to protect it's assets it shares between organisations, from one unscrupulous partner trying to undermine the rest? Likewise, why is it okay for mainstream publicists to make a tidy profit from leaks, yet Wikileaks cannot even contemplate such an income? If you believe Wikileaks should release for free all information, then you should hold all publicists to the same standard. Otherwise, one is just picking and choosing how one applies morality, and thus this is yet more demonising Assange and Wikileaks bullshit. Remember, The Guardian has offered absolutely no financial aid from all that sky rocketing international internet traffic.

No. First of all, the Adventure Update is NOT Adventure Mode. Adventure Mode is still on the table. Keep an eye on this wiki post as well.

If you've followed everything Notch has been saying about it, Adventure Mode is the raison d'être of Redstone. This is one of the key game modes planned for Minecraft since the start (along with Survival and Creative), and it's in line with his inspiration on Dungeon Keeper for making Minecraft in the first place. This is pretty much one of the core gameplay goals for the game from the very start.

It looks like somebody wanted to impersonate secure login pages with a lot of detail, let's say they have the ability to control your DNS and can re-direct you to a site that claims to be https://twitter.com/login but actually isn't. Your browser will not only tell you that this site has an SSL Certificate but is an SSL Certificate that is for twitter.com and is perfectly safe. So, the site looks like twitter, it's on the twitter domain name and your browser doesn't warn you that it's unsafe, I'd probably give that site my details.

The issue here is that browsers have to trust the people that provide certificates because if it fails on a legit site people get pissed off.

We trust the CA (Certificate Authority) to not do dumb shit like let any one generate a certificate for google, twitter or even my completely unknown site that only I use. They have checks in place for that but someone has got around them.

Just to clear up potential confusion about recommended specs: Being able to run the beta at Ultra doesn't mean you'll be able to run the final game at Ultra. The graphics were toned down for the beta. This isn't speculation, it's a fact.

Johan Andersson, rendering architect at DICE, confirmed several times on his Twitter account that the graphical settings of the beta did not match those of the final game, and that their in-dev build (which better reflects what the final game will look like) really needs two GTX 580s or HD 6970s to get ~60 fps at 1080p with everything maxed out.

Still, if your PC can run the beta, it'll be able to run the final game. And if it runs the beta at Ultra, you'll probably end up running the final game at High. Who knows?
