Since you are in a different location and your IP address is now based in Germany, Netflix has adjusted your library to the German one . Unblocking Netflix is as simple as changing your IP address — by doing that, you can access any localization you’re aiming for, including the US one. So if you obtain an IP address in the USA, you can watch all the American exclusives no matter where you are!
Here’s a roundup of top VPN picks for unblocking regional Netflix versions around the world:
1.NordVPN
3.CyberGhostVPN
it turns out my very basic Asus router apparently doesn't support a VPN Client. :(
This has been quite the adventure. I found a guide for ExpressVPN that showed how to WAN settings to use PPTP instead of a VPN Client. I followed those steps, except substituting TorGuard settings: my email, password, 128-bit encryption, and my Streaming IP as the server. Mostly, success - the movies and shows that we getting blocked by Netflix are now available.
Two problems:
For the location, I thought that maybe using TorGuard's DNS settings would help but that did not. When I go to their Client Area, their map shows me as being located just outside of Wichita (?), but when I use DirecTVNow, it thinks I'm in San Diego (which I would expect with the streaming IP). Previously, the Client Area detected my actual current physical location, so Wichita plus Netflix working makes me think my location is actively being masked.
However, those problems are very concerning. I originally put my modem/router in bridge mode, but whenever I do that it throttles my speeds (like, from 50MBps to 3 Mpbs). So, I put it back to factory defaults. I rebooted my Asus router, but I still get half-speeds (around 20Mbps) when I test DSLreports speeds on that network; if I connect directly to the cable modem/router, I get the full 50Mbps.
Nothing is ever easy...
Thank you for all your help - I really appreciate it!

NordVPN has been known not to work well with Amazon video, and other streaming services, and isn't reliable as the most recommended solution here.
Yes , you can use VPN.A virtual private network (VPN) is a great and easy way to bypass geographic restrictions. Once you setup your VPN, you will be able to access various channels, content, and websites that are blocked in your country. If you want to watch American Netflix on your Wii console, VPN will help you out. FoR Wii its best to use ExpressVPN
Nord works for other regions besides US, but not Germany.
