If you study best with ambient noise or need to block out background noise: https://mynoise.net/noiseMachines.php
I use this and set timers for whichever block of time I want to study for before I take my first break. Helps me stay focused. The key is that if I veer off schedule and take a break before my study time is up, I pause the timer, then come back to it when I'm back on track. Helps me keep track of how much I am really studying and remind myself to just push through the last ten minutes or whatever before going off to do what I want/need to do.
I was a part of this FB group is called “ATI TEAS 6 TEST - STUDY GROUP.” It’s loaded with resources and practice questions. I also used a study book from amazon a little bit but the a lot of the stuff from the book is in the FB group, along with helpful videos and charts. I literally studied 2-3 days before the test and scored a 78. That group saved my ass and a lot of the practice material will be on the test so practice as much as you can. The people are also a great support system.

I'd buy a single serve coffee maker and maybe a good coffee mug
I agree on the “don’t try to learn the material before having to learn the material”, you’ll save yourself tons of energy and time. If you want to keep learning outside of class, I would recommend doing things that aren’t necessarily “studying” but have educational benefits. An anatomical coloring book or cell structure models for example. Personally, I love reading books that have to do with medicine but aren’t text books, specifically this one or this one They’re super interesting and will keep your mind on medicine without studying
General Anatomy SparkChart on Amazon for $4.95.
Also check out HPB for a physiology book of some sort. Really cheap and a great refresher for over break! If you haven’t ordered a textbook for your Theory class (my College has a theory and clinical component), then do so ASAP. If your school doesn’t require that, then you can get one pretty cheap. You can skim through it over break to help ease your mind.
I bought all of my textbooks a few weeks early so I can prepare over break since it’s my first semester. I just have Fundamentals, Concepts, and Populations Health Nursing, but still!
Best of luck!!!
Hey there, redditors. So, I've written a short children's book. Sure, it's no Green Eggs and Ham, but I'm kind of proud of how well it turned out. It's titled, "My Daddy, the Amazing Nurse!", and it's available for FREE on Amazon Kindle from 12/22-12/26. I would love any honest reviews via Amazon (good or bad) so that I can improve the reader experience for future editions and/or similar books that I have in the works, but a review is not required for the download. Again, it's 100% free.

Amazon's product pages are a little misleading for free books. To get the book for free, as long as the price shows $0.00, click "Buy now with 1-click". If you click the "Read for Free" link, it will ask if you want to subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, which you DON'T need to do to read this book!
Let me know what you all think (preferably as a review on Amazon, but I'll take feedback here too!). Thanks!
