I use the Foto4easy Dummy Battery with a npf plate or my field monitor. has a 5.5mm don't recall if it's 2.1 or 2.5mm barrel but it works reliably
Only suggestion is take it apart and use loctite and I mean Red Loctite crank it back together. Do that and this is a great cage. Using my Viltrox Speedbooster works without the metal support, I got creative and bought a cheap Metabones adapter on eBay to get their shorter support piece. From their I was able to bridge the cage and support with a camvate manfrotto mount.
Thanks for looking into this. I took a look at where I purchased the camera (here) and the model appears to be a DMC-G85MK. I don't think that would change the drivers for the G85, but should I be copying over the extracted zip contents or the zip?
Turn off any sleep setting and use a dummy battery AC power adapter and you should be good to go.

Hi,
It's a great camera. I don't really know much about low pass filter and all but I've recorded some footage with a specific shirt and... I Had tons of moire.
At least I had when I edited the video in a small screen. But if I watch the video in full screen (or at least not the size of a smartphone screen) you don't see the moire.
Here's a link to that video.

You can see for yourself and test around a bit. For information my iso were at 1600, the original video was in 4K but i downgraded to 1080 at 20mb/s.
Good, but $299 is kinda uff.
There is Davinci Resolve for free and available on all systems with the basic features and $295 for advanced studio things.
Many tutorials for it as well.
Nope. That’s not how it works. You need something like this LiveU Solo Wireless Live Video Streaming Encoder for Facebook Live, Twitch, YouTube, and Twitter Live Video Streams https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B077ZCS3RV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GFXNZCQ7KHVCGED6BC0K or this YoloLiv YoloBox Portable Live Stream Studio https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B087X9LDTS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VWX83W4D0C3T7568Y7QQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 and a SIM Card with a 4G plan. Unlimited is better. Then something like a v mount battery and a dummy battery to power the camera. A portable monitor might be needed, like the Portkeys P6.
Connect it to a Camera than a mobile phone with OTG cable?
80 and 85 have to do with which market is sold in.
Here's the g85 on Amazon (USA)

I think besides the market origin, the 85 comes setup with NTSC and the 80 had PAL.
I believe they can be changed regardless. But I may be wrong.
Thanks. I’ve been looking at cheap soft light kits from amazon. Do you have any experience with them? Any good? Something like thi https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XQ1W14X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OtJ1BbBTS1YY7
I use the ElGato or an Atem Mini to use it as a webcam. No problems at all.
As of power, I’ve been using this one for two years and no issues.

I reckon. I use a GH5 for work and a G85 at home, and it's great. Came with the 12-60 too which is surprisingly good.
For mics, depends on what you want to do really. I do a lot of interviews and single person stuff while travelling, so we have some Rode WirelessGo's that are super easy to use and sound great (I think they're around $150 USD though). For shotguns, there's a Takstar one on Amazon for like $35 USD which people speak very highly of. I actually ordered one for myself but it hasn't arrived yet unfortunately!
But yes, G85 is a great little camera and obviously has a lot of options for lenses and other accessories in the future. Autofocus is a little finicky, and low light isn't anyting special. But the stabilisation and weather sealing are great, and the quality is pretty darn stellar for what the price. And you're right, the articulating touch screen is 👌

Hmm, I'm confused by the tether function. Do you mean that the picture will transfer directly over to the storage drive of your PC?
Thanks for explaining everything for me.
I found out my monitor does have an HDMI port and VGA port. I guess I'll buy a HDMI (PC monitor) to micro HDMI cable (G85)?
I found this on Amazon... https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Ethernet-Compatible-Raspberry/dp/B06WWQ7KLV
EDIT: I don't know why I can't upvote people's comments anymore. Maybe I upvote too much? I don't get how reddit works...
If you look on YouTube there are heaps of videos about people having uses with the autofocus on the G80/G85 cameras.
I'm guessing this issue would be magnified when using a wide aperture and shallow depth of field. Like you, I've found that autofocus hunts a lot and it's definitely more noticeable at something like f1.7, as apposed to stoping it down.
From what I understand, the autofocus is better when recording in 1080p than in 4k, but generally that's not ideal.
There is a setting in the menu under Custom called 'AF Sensitivity'. By default this is set at 0, however it can be changed up to +2 and down to -2 and some people have had more success with this reducing the focus breathing/hunting.
Others have noticed that adjusting the AF Mode (1 Area vs. Multi Area vs. Face/Eye Detect etc) has an effect too depending on how you are filming.
Obviously, as mentioned by others, using Manual Focus may be the best option for these cameras but it's not always easy to be accurate/smooth. Something like a Smooth Focus Assist tool may help with this. https://www.amazon.com/ALZO-Smoothy-Zoom-Focus-Assist/dp/B00B4DRZFK
I hope this helps.

I've been using one of these bags for a couple years and it's been great. Holds a TON of stuff if I pack it (including my GorillaPod), or I can just put my G85 with the kit lens and some audio gear in it and call it a day.
I got one of these a while back, and it goes pretty tall.

It's a little pricey, but it's an incredible tripod. I did a ton of research for one of the best bang for the buck tripods, and this seemed to come up a lot. It's very versatile and can be manipulated for many types of shooting. I used it for doing some overhead shooting for some products to put on a client's web site.
For my G85’s and GH4’s I use these 5v to 9v adapters plugged into a USB battery that allows charging while outputting. Battery also has a display so I know how much power is left, etc.
With this setup I can run both camera + SmallHD monitor (using the same adapter but in 5v to 12v) from the battery all day. If the battery isn’t fully charged, can simply plug it into a phone charger and have unlimited power, and can unplug at any time without worry.
The couplers for the cameras are generics off Amazon... had decent reviews. Don’t use the AC part of them, but the couplers are fine. Just need this DC plug tip to go from the 5v to 9v adapter to the coupler. The 12v adapter tip is the same size as most 12v monitors and recorders, so no adapter needed there.
The USB battery is the most expensive part of the setup, but if you only need 1 camera setup, it’s not too bad. I think the batteries were about $50 or $75 or so, the adapters $10, the couplers $15-20, and the DC tips $6 for two, or they have bigger packs. If you already have a decent USB battery, then it’s a great setup for under $40.
The adapter cords are very long, so I use Velcro straps to manage them, hiding them up under the front of the camera cage, or on the top on some I have cheese-plates mounted. Have Velcro on the battery too, so it can attach to plates, etc and hold the adapters, keeping everything tidy.
