For the security screw you need to buy a specific screwdriver/bit called a “T8 Torx Security Bit Screwdriver” why? Because Sony doesn’t want you to open it so they make it a hassle to do so.
Here’s a link to a $6 one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Screwdriver-TECKMAN-Security-Macbook-Controllers/dp/B07PCSQXSM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Torx+T8+Security+Screwdriver&qid=1620175863&sr=8-3

If you have another question lmk, hope this helped.
How many devices do you have connected to your wireless router at once? Do you know if it may have a device cap?
Also, I read this as it seems to use your wifi by default. I'll experiment with this later, but one poster noticed a reduction in latency and a boost in quality.
Do you and your friend have the same router?

The Windows one sucks -- try PS3 Media Server (http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/). It's Java-based, so make sure you're up to date.
Make sure you've got your network setup as a "Home network" -- "work" and "public" cause problems.
Also, if you can see theirs, it's likely that they'll be able to see yours, so just make sure you're aware.
