Hey Jax, PM at Medal here.
We are constantly working on reliability and performance. If you're willing to give Medal another shot, we can hop on a Discord screensharing session and I'll make sure everything is working for you this time.
You can find me there @Brandersnatcher#6697
yep same thing happened to me like last month. idk if its the system or if my computer can't take it anymore. i learned that in task manager your LoL will usually take 30% CPU and plays.tv will take more then 50% when recording.
so when in game you would need to go to Details at the task manager. then find play.tv encoder 11041 or something like that. right click it and select CPU priority and select HIGH (some1 that told me this said REALTIME but high is enough for me so check if high is enough for you)
ok now the only problem is you have to keep selecting high everytime your in game. so you have to use this program called Prio so when you put the encoder on high or real time and tick the box called save pirority, it will save it and don't have to change it over and over again.
For my case, after an hour looking for the problem, I had to change permanently the default setting for the priority of the process that makes the video. In this case is process of the encoding server plays_encoder_server64-116096.exe I had to set this on Realtime. The problem was instantly fixed. To do this in windows 7 or vista you can change it on the Task Manager > Details > (you need a video being recorded) plays_encoder_server64-116096 or whatever your encoding server is (also it changes with every upload) > right.click > save priority Realtime (putting it on high will lag your game). In windows 8-8.1 you need to download a program for this > http://download.cnet.com/SetPriority/3000-2094_4-10473386.html > works just fine. I dont know about windows 10. Hope this helps.
It's not ideal, but you can use NoiseGator and VB Audio Virtual Cable To make plays.tv only pick up loud enough noises.
I used this. It worked well. Also I used medal.tv to transfer all the ones I wanted to keep online. They have a chrome plugin makes it easy. It doesn't do all at once but you can go thru and select the ones you want quickly.
This program is so powerful that I doubt anything will get on its level. Auto detection for games running, Whitelist/blacklist for games you want to (not) record, Bookmark system, extremely fast and low on performance for encoding. Man... I will miss this a lot.
I've been trying other programs like Medal.tv but their program doesn't like using the Ryzen APUs that much and makes the recording lag a ton.
I saw the guy from Medal.tv posting about an auto import feature so I'll probably do that at least to check it out. I guess my biggest concern is, Medal TV is supposed to be snippets. In the import to Medal I wonder if all my videos will stay as is or will they be shortened/clipped?
Actually, let me see if this will work...
/u/z31d4 want to answer that?
Yeah if someone knows of a program that auto detects and records games fully when you are in them. I always forget to create highlights things like medal.tv or FBX provide. I'd much rather after i finish my game look through it. But i can't seem to find anything like it.
I have heard a user who said that it was better after running it through handbrake, which is a free video transcoder.
I know why our audio is out of sync; it's because of the variable frame rate encoding we use. It's a common issue and so I think you should try handbrake, and re-save the video with H.264 as the encoder, and .mp4 as the file type.
I use a samson gomic.
I also use discord when playing with other people, if that makes a difference. I've tried the Handbrake solution, but it did not change the audio issue at all.
I recently reinstalled the program and it worked fine for a few days, but now is back to where I was before with the audio.
