> What are you planning on learning steno for?
I'm a software dev and I type a lot, so I wanted to help my hands / arms / body with getting a more ergonomic solution which at the same time would allow me to type faster. So a win-win.
> I’m not sure how learning to key steno would make you unable to learn/speak other languages.
No not speaking :) I don't know if you're familiar with Duolingo. Basically it's a learning platform where you go and practice with a computer. Here's a sample video where you can see how it works.
Anyway the point is - if I can only efficiently type in English, then that would be problematic for this kind of practice, right? I don't want to spend a year learning steno and then find out I am severely restricted in this (and possibly other regards which I'm not thinking about), if that makes sense.
Nice. If I may let you know, there is a text to voice website you can use for listening to whatever you input. You can also adjust the speed and one of the voices works offline. https://www.naturalreaders.com/online/
