This is probably because Edge doesn't support the image-rendering CSS property. Bizarrely the latest release of Internet Explorer does have partial support, though it may not work either. http://caniuse.com/#search=image-rendering

This script has a lot of goodies.. so feel free to explore, and it supports multiple sprite repair, transparent pixels, and health reports. I got a little carried away.
The top part is minified, let me know if you want the original source too. The only thing to do is to paste it in the javascript console in chrome, press enter. That will load the script and data. Then, type the command repair(). Let me know if you have any issues.. I'm working on it now and it has a health of 47.9% (mainly because of common white pixels).
