oh! me! I normally use my fingers (I'm a monster), but just got one of these after I saw u/wabisabi_sf use one! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00777SIAI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'll let you know how it goes!
There's actually a stamp "wetter" you can get. They are really cheap. I remember helping my grandma with like 300 stamps back when I was a kid and she had this:
https://www.amazon.com/Sparco-Envelope-Moistener-Bottle-SPR01483/dp/B0006HVI5S/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=stamp+moistener&qid=1624975345&sr=8-2
And yes...the bottle made the job the cool chore to do.
Oof! That hurts! Hopefully you get them back and can fix it or the recipients are willing to pay to receive them :) I've had a stickler of a post office clerk (who has now retired) and she was super strict about no tape being on the stamps. Even if it looked like it was she would tell me and debate whether to send it through :/
As for the glue and sticky mess issue. Did you know that their is something called a "glue and sticky residue eraser"? I mostly use mine to clean up glue dot runner excess or tape runner excess so you might want to give it a try. Here's a link so you can see what i'm talking about :)
I just got the boxed Botanicum Post Card set with artwork by Katie Scott and I'm really happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/Botanicum-Postcards-Welcome-Museum-Willis/dp/1783706341
Protip—I got a stamp with the return address with my reddit username on it and it made sending cards more fun. Automate the boring stuff with stamps.

I get something like these little blank cards (also great for writing notes) and I found that they are perfect to wrap washi tape around! You can cut them in half to make them go farther too so a pack should last a while. Of course, playing cards or any old piece of plastic works too :D
Here's exactly what I ordered and enjoy.

I buy these compartments off Amazon. To be honest it has gotten a little bit expensive because of how much washi tape I have, which is too much. But I do like the containers even though it adds up if you have a lot of washi tape. They are constructed sturdy and latch when needed. https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-15-Compartment-Supplies-Container-Organizer/dp/B07G7P74K8?pd_rd_w=pQVZb&content-id=amzn1.sym.fea327c4-5fbe-469f-b9dd-c809442d925d&pf_rd_p=fea327c4-5fbe-469f-b9dd-c809442d925d&pf_rd_r=3CM9KYRZ9SA5P2CFCP... Sorry I’m on mobile and don’t know how to make a short link.
3x SG to WW I'm planning on sending 3 random cards from this set I just picked up! https://www.amazon.sg/This-Bookstore-Postcards-Stationery-Photography/dp/1452177937 (Please let me know if it isn't allowed)
I keep mine in binders (I'm up to 5 binders now), using pages like this (they come in a few different sizes). I like to sort mine by the subject of the card.
I'm just starting out so I don't have a ton of stuff, but right now I keep it in something like this and an accordion binder. Honestly, it's not going well. I have to sit on the storage container in order to close it and the accordion binder is literally tearing at the seams! I'm a college student in a tiny little apartment so I really don't have room for a whole big area, but the eventual goal is to have a separate craft/study area in my future home and have shelving and storage units for everything and a nice desk/table that works well with my cricut. But yeah, for now it's shoved into a little container and my boyfriend is quite scared of it because it's like a bomb waiting to explode!
If you wanted to get hi-tek with it, you can get one of these? It's a little investment for her peace of mind.
Try searching for “small die storage folder” Sizzix Accessory 663468, Die Storage Solution, Small, Gray, One Size https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B084H8MNPV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_V2K6PDNDP7GQ1YMRNMFV here’s a example but they seem to have different options for inserts, eg this one has some big popper wallets which sounds like it might be good.
I was looking as some earlier today for my stickers but couldn’t make my mind up lol
Arg, I'm sorry, you're right. I misread my cards. Yes, the whale card is amazing! It reminds me so much of one of my favorite coloring books - I colored the butterfly in this book, and it took me multiple months. Your card has the same mystical-animal-magic-mix as that coloring book!
LibriVox has multiple version of the audiobook available for free here no account necessary. You can listen to a dramatic reading, solo reading, or a collaborative reading of the book. Lots of versions to choose from and divided by chapter.
Project Gutenberg also has multiple e-versions of the book for free here
i really love your custom stamp. the imagery reminds me of the treasures you can find on thenounproject.com - i may just have to make my own stamp too!
i've written a couple notes to my mail carrier and left them on top my mailbox, and she writes back! but they were purely functional - asking if i could set up my own outbox since i don't have that at my apartment - so i kinda want to just leave her a random hello now!
prior to this mail carrier, i had someone else during the summer when there was a lot of advocacy for the usps going on. i wrote her a long thank you note on a nice postcard, left out snacks and a la croix, but it was never touched, even the card which i left out for days. :(
You can buy brand name dots that are similar but they are about 5x the price. The card lays flat, the dots don’t raise the paper at all. I cut them off the roll and stick them on the corners of the paper and then peel the backing off.
If you don’t like buying things on Amazon just google balloon point dots. Here is the link to the ones I just bought. Lots of sellers so I look for cheapest price for largest amount since the dots are all pretty identical (which is why it doesn’t pay to buy brand name ones). Also, they say they are removable but they really stick to paper incredibly well. Occasionally I misplace a dot and I can usually roll it up and carefully peel it off if I need to.
Amazon has a lot, but this is what I got… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FVFSW72?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If glue works for you there’s probably no reason to change, I just found this amazing and super convenient haha.
So I enjoy giving cards to pretty much anyone. I have a small list of family and friends that get personalized cards for various special occasions.
Recently though my 3 year old has been OBSESSED with making and sending cards to people. So I went on amazon and purchased these Blank White Cards that she can decorate any way she likes. They also work in my favor for starting out with hand making cards.
I love the idea of making postcards from photos you have taken! I have received a few from some folks here that have them - I assume - ordered professionally from a website? I will check out the paper that you linked. Btw, I use little mini blank cards like this for my washi take samples :-)
I use this and flipping love it. No mess no fuss. Disclaimer: if you have used white out that comes in a similar dispenser you'll have zero trouble with this BUT if you have not then you'll need to learn. You hold it with the "tape part" that's exposed on the paper then roll it. The little bump is on the bottom the smooth round side on top. It's permanent, goes only where you tell it and doesn't stink.
For intricate stuff I usually use Art Glitter Glue in Something like this. I find that art glitter glue generally does not warp the paper.
I don't use glitter paper, but rubber cement might work!
I try to do this wonderful hobby without breaking the bank. At the moment, I personally normally go with a couple of designs of bulk cards and dress them up with my supplies. Like I got these cards off Amazon and use my washi tape, stickers, brush pens and now wax seals to spruce them up like so. :)
I also include a little art/little crafts to make them special! You could totally do offers with different washi tape/sticker themes and I think people would be really happy with them! :)
OMG you can totally still decorate mailers and bubble envelopes!!! Any stickers/decorations I use for them I'll apply a thin layer of modge podge to make sure it stays on.these are some I've sent and received https://imgur.com/a/ikAnNTZ I also bought these ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZ264YB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pLDyDbBDYBGHY ) adorable polymailers on Amazon and they have many others! :)
I get these from Amazon $6.99 for 50

Or these $10.99 for 100 the quality is good and I could add the lines on the back myself.

I got these blank postcards from Amazon
Remind me which country you're in again? May be able to find something similar...
Also Hi B! 🐌💌
I buy blank postcards but I don’t print on them and I don’t know if your printer would handle the size or if you could do the Amazon thing. Just in case here they are.

I haven’t done any sticker subscriptions, but I love getting those big packs of skateboard stickers from amazon for cents on the sticker. They are big, glossy, and stick to anything, plus if I pack them into a card as surprises it feels like a bigger “gift”. Dollar stores are also great!

I make my own stickers sometimes! I just look for images on google with white/transparent backgrounds and print them on sticker paper.
I love this matte white sticker paper! They produce fantastic quality stickers even when I print on them using my “economical” printer (I use the Canon PIXMA E560).
For clear stickers, I use the full sheet clear matte labels from Avery and I get them from Amazon! I would recommend using the labels instead of their sticker project paper because the latter doesn’t stick very well and comes off really easily.
He is. And I try to tell him as often as I can. He definitely needs to hear it more though ;-)
it's a hinged paper cutter. I have a hinged one and a slidey one
I haven't! I did peek around on Amazon and it looks like there's some cheaper options there than in-store. Michael's looks like it's about $5 per sheet?
There's this 50-pack 4x4 square cork paper for $11 and this 36-pack 4x4 round cork paper for $9.
Oooh, I haven't tried that brand! Thanks for sharing :) I've used Dab-N-Seal but yours is even better because glue dots work so well with all kinds of crafts too
For paper adhesive, I only ever use double sided tape like this but I hear those dot glue runners are also good, although I tried something like that and the tape kept getting caught inside
I also don't like my lettering. I would suggest maybe a stencil with those standard greetings on, or peel-off stickers.
Washi tape is a decorative tape that many people use to embellish cards. Here is some on Amazon , but it can be found at (US) stores like Dollar Tree, Target, Walmart, Tuesday Morning, Hobby Lobby, Michaels etc. People also find it online at sites like Wish and Aliexpress. Sometimes people on the sub send samples, thats how I first got some. Is it a must have, well I thought not but now that I have used it I kinda love it. Pinterest examples of Washi use
