Now that you have the camera itself and enough batteries and memory, I'd recommend buying and reading the "Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX100 V: Getting the Most from Sony's Pocketable Digital Camera" by Alexander White -- I just bought it two days ago and have been reading through it (the e-book edition is $7.99 on amazon) and even if you already feel as if you understand everything you need about the camera, it seems almost certain that you'll find some new tricks or unexplored menu options described in this book.
In partnership with Sony, Capture One offers a free version of its software for Sony cameras that is quite good: https://www.captureone.com/en/products-plans/capture-one-express/sony
This is likely as good as you'll get without paying. You can also upgrade to a full Sony-only version for a minimal fee.
I use the Sony AGR2 Hand Grip and love it
I would urge you to get this. It’s very compact, charges using the same cable as the camera. I use it to hold a spare battery when it’s fully charged. When the one in my camera dies, I swap them out and begin charging the empty one and continue to use my camera. I plug the travel charger into a portable battery bank using the micro usb cable and keep it tucked in my bag and let it do its thing.
I’m also fairly sure it comes with the battery, so you get a compact charger and a spare battery for $50

I bought this kit from amazon. I use the polarizer all the time but only played with the the macro a couple of times. I saw that it worked but didn’t evaluate quality

This Case Logic case from Amazon.
It has been perfect for me. Has a detachable shoulder strap and a belt loop and enough room to carry an extra battery and charge cable in a separate compartment.
They absolutely do. Well, the filter I'm sure of because it's the same for both. http://www.amazon.com/RX100-Quick-Change-Filter-Adapter-Lensmate/dp/B00OWG0IAA/ref=lp_8111121011_1_4?srs=8111121011&ie=UTF8&qid=1443049137&sr=8-4
I've used three 2X-200mm equivalent options:
The A6400 is better than the RX100VI in lower light and for scenes with high dynamic range. And the Tamron 28-200mm and FF camera is a monster with vastly improved IQ and light gathering.
For hiking, I prefer the RX100VI to have a camera in a holster at my hip at all times. IQ is functionally very close to the 18-135mm on an A6X00 with enough light, and you can pack a tiny tripod easily for evening and night exposures (which is much more weight with a larger camera) like this: https://www.amazon.com/Newest-Phone-Tripod-Portable-Compatible/dp/B08TLMHZKX/ref=sr_1_36?crid=17D3GC79P24K9&keywords=travel+tripod&qid=1662234348&sprefix=travel+tripod%2Caps%2C86&sr=8-36

Yeah my RX100VI is an amazing camera that can be used to capture a wide variety of content. The batteries are so tiny that you can always wedge a spare or two on you. I use a tiny belt holster that just fits the camera, two spare batteries, and a tiny cleaning cloth: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DUGZDJ4/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
If mine's in my pocket, it's not in a case. If it's NOT in my pocket, this is the case I just got and it's perfect. Magnetic clasp, shoulder strap as an option, pretty firm (crush resistance), and the camera slides in and out perfectly: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07G7ZQBXD?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2\_dt\_b\_product\_details

I take off the cover piece when I know I’ll be doing a lot of shooting. Then I have a generic small bag case that can fit my camera, batteries, etc.
I definitely carry my rx100 vii in my pocket. That’s what makes it so special. I’ve gone to weddings and don’t have to carry anything. But I have that extreme camera capabilities all in my pocket. It’s really cool.
I got this one a few months ago and have been pretty happy with it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003F7DWH8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have the Hama L60 case for my RX100 m3. It fits strong without shaking inside the case.
The m6 or m7 are 2mm more thick. I think it's possible with this Hama case.
As a VI owner who has used the newer AI (on an A6400), the VII is really an amazing piece of kit.
I actually find the batteries on the RX100s very resilient for photos (not sure on video), but they are also tiny and easy to carry. You might also want to look at the travel charger that can be charged from a USB power bank to charge one battery in the field while you shoot another. It comes with a spare battery.
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-ACCTRDCX-Travel-Charger-Black/dp/B00DSZ5B4E
I bought this carrying case and love it. It keeps the profile of the camera super small and provides decent protection. Also accommodates the grip.
I have something similar to this on my RX100 V and use a regular screw-in variable ND filter. My RX100 has the built-in ND filter but I prefer using a conventional rotating filter.
Randomly stumbled upon your post here, but I'm looking into this option myself after a friend of mine attempted it. You can use a dummy battery. If you look closely at your battery door, there's actually a little square that can be pulled out for a cable to run through, so you can use something like this to keep your camera charged.
I’ve got this Amazon Basics case. There’s a bit of extra room with the camera inside and the outside pocket will hold two batteries and my polarizing filter with room to spare.
there are many case options on amazon. there's no need to pay big bucks for a sony case.
i use this one. i like it.
very specific answer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T2H83NT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_u0.IFb2GK9Z9M
it's the ring that wraps around the neck of this bottle
(great in-bag bottle, btw; but the silicon cover doesnt insulate at all so i used it for a bunch of DIY projects)
You need this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sony.playmemories.mobile
The camera transfers via WiFi so it does have to connect like that. After you have the app installed NFC tapping should work. If you're on the live view, it'll start remote control, if you're reviewing an image it'll send that image.
Also, get the photos from both devices on a big high quality screen and you'll see the difference.
I didn't do a hard case for mine, so if that's a requirement, don't bother looking... I got the LowePro Tahoe 25 soft case. It's got a belt loop, some decent padding, and a pocket on the front that you can slip an extra memory card into. I don't have the extras that you have, but I do have the hand grip, and the camera pocket is snug without being tight.
This is what I use to protect my RX100 in laptop bags and the like: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G72TT3B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It does not completely isolate the camera from wiggling but iseems provide a hard shell to protect against crushing and impact.
I used to use a $15 knock off case that looked like this:
It was for a Leica Dlux, not sure what model, but damn did I love that case. It had a belt look and i loved the magnetic snap closure. Got it on eBay. I don't have the case anymore because it broke a long time ago. I used it for my RX100 m1.
Got a cam link or a cheap capture card?
You mentioned that you would not be recording to the camera, would you be hooking these up to capture cards to stream?
A small fan will help, but if you are running for longer periods of time I'd switch to an externally powered Dummy battery, like this one USB Cable AC-LS5 Drop Voltage Cable 5V-4.2V Camera Mobile Power Bank Charger + DK-X1 DC Coupler NP-BX1 NPBX1 Dummy Battery for Sony DSC-RX1 DSC RX100 RX1R. Just make sure to feed it more than 500mA
Moving the hot battery away from the unit and flipping out the screen will allow the body to cool further.
Also, a great substitute to the Sony Rx100, if you definitely want to avoid overheating is the Rx10. Specifically the Mk2. The F2.8 is great, shoots 4k, shares the same battery as the A6X00's. I've picked up a set locally as my B and C cams for ~$350-400.
Also, I searched for the label brand on Amazon and got the exact case: https://www.amazon.com/Aproca-Travel-20-1MP-Digital-Camera/dp/B07QL4VVY8/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Aproca+case+rx100&qid=1601479276&sr=8-2
I just got a few of the OEM batteries from Amazon, I got them for $23 each. Honestly, I have 3 batteries and I have only ever needed 2 batteries for a day of fun.
Thanks for the suggestion! I've been doing some research and it seems the majority of filters below the RX100 V don't work as well with the VI or VII due to vignetting / different lens dimensions, etc. However, I went ahead and ordered the 58mm MagFilter along with the Neewer kit here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer-Filter-Accessory-Canon-18-55mm/dp/B07JFY9LJX/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=neewer+58mm+kit&qid=1571332892&sr=8-9
Although I do expect some vignetting at 24mm, I've read that larger filter sizes (58mm opposed to 52 or 49mm) are less prone to vignetting at wide angle, therefore I went for the largest size. Additionally, I am planning to film mostly video, therefore due to the crop factor, vignetting is apparently less of an issue. I'll update with results once I receive the MagFilter and Neewer Kit! :)
There is an android app that lets you do so. I have a cheapy tablet and have done some timelapses with my M2 via connecting to the app wirelessly.

I can confirm that the RX100VA can accept a USB interovolometer. I bought the one below off Amazon and I can use it with both my 100VA and A7iii.
I have not tried using the Sony Imaging Edge app yet.
Neewer DSLR Camera Shutter... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NSE1F6I?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
what off brand do you use? I was looking at these 2. any thoughts? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078TC7GJB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uUYFBb96VJCAG
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HFOJUKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dWYFBbD657MKY
Hmm, that's really cool! I ended up buying one where it glues to the lens and you can attach different filters to it.

You might consider buying Alexander White's e-book about the rx100 IV. I just bought the one about the rx100 V a few days ago, and I think it was worth the $7.99.
Beyond that, decide what you're going to do with the images -- do you want raw files to process in Lightroom, or just shoot JPEG? Is 4K video something you want or need? and make choices based on that.
We just picked up the Zhiyun Crane M. It's our first gimbal we ever owned but it seems to be working well so far.
https://www.amazon.com/Zhiyun-Brushless-Handheld-Wireless-Controller/dp/B01M27I7KT
I like it a lot. I'm actually in the same boat as you and haven't really shot anything yet because of finals (fixing that this weekend). I was also worried about battery life so I got this
Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack) and Dual Charger for Sony NP-BX1, NP-BX1/M8 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HFOJUKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_oFouybX1S7D2X
Comes with 2 batteries, charges both at the same time, small asf, and <$20.
I wanted a case for mine and ended up with a more generic LowePro Tahoe 25 II case, as it worked better for me. But, for me, having the case was more about carrying ease while I was out and about with my granddaughter at her first trip to Disneyland. So, I needed a convenient place to put it, and quick access. Since I was already carrying things like snacks, water, and other necessities, my Camelbak was my carrying instrument, and I could affix the Tahoe to my shoulder strap for super easy access.
I got a free Sony point and shoot case and although it fits, its much too tight so i ended up buying a sling or whatever its called. Quick access, but for storage it sits on my desk. Ive been tempted to buy the official leather case but $89 is a crazy amount for what looks like pleather.
This case is dope. I've used it for a year now with no problems, I used it on my MIII and now my IV. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LA77GZY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00
