My guess would be that that headset use TRRS tips while that Roland most likely uses a TS input. So you’d need an adapter like this to separate the mic signal from the headset.
Maybe something like this would help. it's a surge suppressor with each outlet at the end of its own short cord.
This might be a bit of overkill, but you might look into one that super adjustable like this. I've never used one this configurable, but it appears you can use the potentiometer to set the V anywhere from 3 to 24, so you'd be able to get your 5.7-5.9 spot. It has a variety of modular tips so you can check if it includes the one you need, and importantly it has a polarity switcher so you can be sure it can be configured to the polarity setting you need.
Hopefully this points you in the right direction, sorry if I'm missing something and it doesn't help.
If you want your computer to drive the drum machine, you definitely want a MIDI connection. Audio interfaces combined with MIDI are probably a bit expensive if you don't already own one. You can get something as simple as this:
FORE MIDI to USB Interface MIDI Cable Adapter
All you need is a 3.5mm to RCA cable.
A” TRS 3.5mm to dual RCA Y cable” if you want to throw more into the search bar.
Find the length that works for you. I’ve got a dozen of them in the basement. One is running from my mixer to my speakers right now.
I've used the ME70 and ME80 for years. The exp pedal is the usual midi cc16, and the CTL pedal is cc 80 as an all-or-nothing toggle. That's pretty limited, but it could be done.
You could send the ME80 toggle message on CC80 to a DAW. The DAW then runs bypass signals to both pedals.
Even one pedal would work if you can send the signal through one pedal to the other via MIDI THRU. You could also send it back to your DAW via a virtual MIDI bus like loopMIDI. The virtual bus then shoots it back into the DAW, and out to the other pedal. Boss -> DAW/GR5 -> pedals. But you're right, it shouldn't have to be this complex.
One "gotcha" thing: if you're using GR5 inside a DAW rather than standalone, then GR5 goes into "plugin mode" and nothing you do MIDI-wise in GR5 will work.
Native Instruments buried the manual so it's hard to find on the website. Google saved the day: GR5 manual link.
u/ctech, I'd be interested in where you ended up with this. Kind regards!
I’m not sure if this is helpful but you may be able use this midi cable then add a USB to USB-C connector to the end.

I have two of these. One for the TR8S and one for the MC707. They are rock solid and adjustable, making it easy to position your gear over another piece of kit at an angle.
These are not available anymore, but you can find countless options under “laptop holders” in Amazon. I have my elektrons and my mpc live on these:

They even have some DJ laptop stands that leave space underneath for you to put them over some other narrower gear.
We have had no compatibility issues, but they

We ended up with two and work fine.
I submitted a ticket and heard back from Roland support, "First check the power adapter and confirm it's the Roland PSB-1U. A universal power adapter can cause a problem like this. If that doesn't help, and you're certain isn't not related to your amp, cables, or headphones you're using, then there may be a problem with it that would require service."
I found the power supply that was provided with the unit is not a Roland PSB-1U, I couldn't find that exact model but found a Roland PSB-120 and supposedly works in place of the PSB-1U, (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001OAGQ80/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
I'll be getting that tomorrow as well as taking this into a local certified Roland repair shop today and hopefully get some good news.
