I bought this thing on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ACBHMEI) you'll have to figure out how to get it to fit your vacuum, but overall, works well on my two dogs. It fits my shark vacuum using the expandable adapter.
Might be something bacterial. Both my dogs have bald spots from to time and I use these Dechra 100 Count MalAcetic Wet Wipes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K4X8TBK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_39PHY1BYXYT5F5RP3GAD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
To wipe their eyes and ears and it goes away. Try that first and see. I wipe them once a week at first now every other or even once a month as long as they get regularly bathed.
Well, for the things that I could control I'd have to say our exercise and maybe good food?
When I adopted him they thought he was already about 2 and he seemed pretty restless. So within the first month I had his walks up to ~3mi x 2 times a day and a pee break before bed. So about six miles a day if we only stuck to the 2 main walks a day. On the weekends it was almost always 3 or 4, but the distance was about the same. He (and my other Rott) kept fit, lean, had tons of mental stimulation, structure, and thirdly: plenty of exercise. A tired dog is a good dog. If he/they ever had any kind of issue I would back the walk off for a potty break and whatever they could manage, but those times were very few. But every day of his life I'd get up, plug my phone in, and we were out the door. Rain? RuffWear makes great raincoats. Snow & Cold? RuffWear. I'm not feeling it? Tough shit. He depended on me and I kept my end of the bargin. No one will ever be able to convince me that this did not impact how long he lived or how incredibly healthy he was.
For the first 1/2 of his life he was eating Merrick, which was more expensive than most of the other dog foods available but I *constantly* got comments about how good he looked, coat was shiny, eyes were bright...just a really good looking dog. And I believe part of that was his diet. Merrick changed something at some point a few years ago and both my Rotts didn't care for it so we switched to Blue Buffalo (adult, chicken or salmon?) and that has been pretty solid.
Thanks for your comment and feel free to keep this going if you have more questions. :)
Try this, mine loves it! The air goes underneath and keeps him cool. In winter I put a think blanket on it and they snuggle up. Amazon Basics Cooling Elevated Pet Bed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076VSF333/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_DBPZV15A8XJ9BC86VTJD

I had actually let them out earlier and crawled back into bed to wait for the house to warm up, as I sleep with it at 60 but totally don't want to deal with living at that temperature.
thanks! i was thinking of posting a video that shows this rotty and his son playing, so here you go, its a little dark but i think you can fairly appreciate the image hehe :P https://www.dropbox.com/s/l5fnzrcpq2iaxs0/video-2012-11-30-17-06-54.mp4
I use the battery powered Dremel. They have one on Amazon for pets and it comes with instructions(for pet use) and some sanding drums. Dremel 7300-PT 4.8-Volt Pet Grooming Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TU0XG4/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_zePWub0KSDKZR
The price has changed since I got it. It was the same price as the non pet one. Just do a little at a time even if its on nail then come back later and do another one. Another thing is having them walk on concrete .
Basket muzzles are usually ideal, I prefer the rubber ones over metal because I worry they’ll hurt themselves. I’ve heard good things about this one link
This. And watch a video on how to properly use it - push down on nail from top and have it spin 'upwards' - this eliminates most vibration. Mine hated having her nails trimmed, but no problems with regular (frequent) nail grinding.
These types of “natural wood” bones are my Rottie’s favorite for long term chewing. Treats, even “long lasting” one never last more than a few minutes.
I seen a website earlier in the week that will make a plush toy of your pet if you send them a photo.
So, my mom would make a makeshift bridle to lead her horses when she had no bridle, and she would do the same with her young pups when they would bite the leash. A friend recommended a halti for my rottie pup, when he was doing the same thing. I love this device! It is NOT a muzzle, they can open and close their mouth for food & water, but it controls the direction of the nose, so they can't bite the leash or lunge / take off in another direction. I will always use this type of collar, it has been amazing for training purposes.
American folk - you want to get THIS for your rottie to do the rougher-play.
As for the soft hand play - place hand very gently atop the muzzle so the nose is under your wrist, and ruffle muzzle with fingertips. Please be smart and don't do this with dogs you are not alpha to.

Its held up to 4 years of outdoor shenanigans so I definitely recommend it. They make a breathable mesh style now that I may pick up.
I had a problem with one of my Rottweilers being insanely high energy. Even as a pup he did wonderful with training and commands, but when he got excited and hyped up he wouldn't listen to anything and would be out of control. The simple fix for him was a flirt stick https://www.amazon.com/Outward-Hound-Tail-Teaser-Flirt/dp/B0042I5G2I/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=flirt+poles+for+dogs&qid=1656798982&sr=8-5
This was his favorite. It was an outlet for some reason that no toy/bone/chew/exercise would scratch the itch. I was told that possibly it gave him more stimulation for his "prey drive"
You absolutely have to buy your beautiful girl this collar.
I just bought this collar for the puppy we are picking up next week and Hera is one of our top 3 names right now.

It’s soft, light weight, and cinches. It’s a Martingale with a plastic clip. Holds strong and tight when it needs to be.
I feel chains are dangerous. Like if for some reason he got stuck on something, there is no quick release.
Early resource guarding. Trade the pup a high value treat for the toy or thing they are guarding. Teach him that you're not there to "steal" his stuff, but that you = awesome fun things.
Please stop reaching for the item and antagonizing (even if unintentional) by messing with him while has has the high value item. This just makes it worse.
There's a really great book on resource guarding called "Mine!"

If you get the smaller treates that are about dime or penny size they aren't that high calorie wise. They make training treats that are relatively inexpensive and Greta cause ur not making ur dog fat. Also if you are taking a 10 to 20 on a walk and you do us on look and sit they burning off calories while they train. We were always told don't worry about it cause it's not a forever thing and if you have a bunch of treats you but back dinner or breakfast a tiny bit.
Also getting your dog exposed to other dogs in a safe environment like fenced in small areas where you can take them to learn social skills it makes a massive help. It doesn't need to be long like 5 min at first and you slowly work up duration untill they are comfortable or learn the rules of how to play and what's ok vs not. If you dog is hiding behind u leave and don't force anything and come back another day.
Below is a great training treat. Also when they do something really good luck learn that new trick to stay for 30 seconds give a big treat and make a celebration out of it. Dogs love a big celebration for doing good.

If you have any questions I can help send some links or additional ideas. We got out rottie through level 2 training and we about to attempt for therapy dog training so we spent a lot of time learning and listening to some awesome trainers.
Good luck!!
We have had good luck with the West Paw Monster, Mighty toys tuff level 10, and the GoDog Furballz toys. None last forever, but these last through several rounds of tug and chase between my Rotti and Pit mix. We also buy cheap stuffed animals (usually after a holiday from the grocery store discount rack) and just let them go hog wild under supervision.
Good luck!!
Outdoor shower, hose outside. Ours hates baths too but gets in the outdoor shower no problem. Maybe try this if you don't have one.
They’re off Amazon! These ones in particular worked the best out of a few I tried. These actually stayed on their feet. Highly recommend.

My parents recently adopted a 3 year old with some marking issues. He’s a big boy, about 130. They use belly bands in the house. These ones!
I hope that helps, they’ve had a lot of success with them! They still correct the behavior when he lifts his leg but this protects their house lol. He almost doesn’t need them anymore. Good luck. :)
So far the best tool I’ve found is a deshedding blade. My dog loves being brushed with it and it gets out a ton of hair from the undercoat. He sheds so much that there is still hair all over my house but if I brush him with this regularly it does seem to help. Here’s a link for the one I have https://www.amazon.com/Safari-Pet-Dual-Sided-Stainless-Shedding/dp/B0002ARR22
I was looking at that exact one but wasnt sure if the puppy could still squeeze in so i went ahead and got this one.

You can try this. My little old and gluttonus gal lose her appetite because of her renal condition... the vet suggested to give her this product, at least to mantain her in good condition. I had to give her the paste with a tube syringe Nutrient paste
I’ve seen people on Instagram use a-frame style kids swingsets? They are usually pretty solid, and will hold up well.
I got them from Chewy! Really relieved that they fit and the dogs let me put them on!
Great tool for teaching your pup how to signal they want to go outside. The only breed my family and I have ever had is Rottweilers and none of us has had a pup that didn't pick up using the bells in more than three demonstrations.
kong has been a life saver, although there are tougher brands out there. my girls get ropes, kong ballistic tug toysys , and those big balls made for horses- some of them are flimsy, some are nice and durable, and some are hard plastic
although sometimes we just get them cheap dog toys to tear up for a good 30 seconds, but if yours eats the fluff maybe not 😅

Oh no! I hope he's all warm and cuddly now!
As for booties, I'm 100% not an expert (Bruce is my first furbaby!) But I can tell you the little I've learned. The booties that he's wearing in all his photos on my profile were just a pair from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089RJBPHR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_C2xeGbDBADB8K
They work pretty well for the price, are true to size, and I don't actually have any real complaints. We got them the beginning of last winter and they're still in pretty good shape though we don't have to use them often. Bruce tolerates them a LOT better with socks and they make it easier not to catch his dew claws in the straps too.
I think if I bought another pair I'd get the kurgo ones for no other reason than I love with the thermals I got him to go camping in and he stays TOASTY. We put those and their hoodie on him last time we went in late fall and he was sprawled out in his sleep lol. I think kong makes some too that I wouldn't be opposed to trying out.
The collar is custom from MIA Dog Gear. It's heavy duty and made extremely well. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk6YU3VA3ru/?igshid=y0zcsstouvqb
The leash is from Amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00W4S6SCA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_M2RvDbDFBE30R
I bought this for my girl and it is great.

She has backed out of this one before though so having a leash with a leader attached to the collar helped prevent this.

I'm not sure if it's an Instagram pool haha but we got it on Amazon. It's working great! She's a big dog and doesn't rip it with her nails or anything. It's pretty durable. She loves walking in it and drinking from it.
I’m assuming you mean the white circular thing? It’s a clip-on LED light! You press it to turn it on, and it’s decently bright. We use it for when we go for walks in the evening or when we let her out in the yard for potty at night, since she can be hard to see in the dark. It was less than 10 bucks on Amazon - I totally recommend it!
EDIT: Found it here! We got white, but it also comes in different colors
Thanks! It’s a Vailge car hammock my sister bought for me off amazon, had to find it for you since I didn’t buy it. Works great though. Good pick on her end :)
Honestly, a lot of the popular foods you find in the stores and not really that good for your poochie. Our rotties are eating Fromm Salmon ala Veg because it contains Taurine. Stay away from peas, lentils, and other legumes or potatoes because it blocks Taurine absorption which can lead to a canine heart disease, known as dilated cardiomyopath (DCM). High levels of legumes or potatoes appear to be more common in diets labeled as “grain free". Here's the link to an FDA warning.
My wife has worked for a vet for 20 years and has spent a ton of time researching which food is best and right now that seems to be the Fromm. We're considering going to a raw diet soon because they love it and we can control exactly what they're eating. We want our babies to stay around for a long time and we've spoken to several breaders and owners to see what they're feeding them and many swear by the raw diet. We've had rotties for 20 years but have never had one make it to 10 years but some of our friends have had several that have made it to 13 & 14. A lot of the people we've talked to swear by the raw diet.
My wife knows the author of Raw and Natural Nutrition for Dogs, Lew Olson. You might be interested in getting this book and taking a look. Good luck.
Haha! Indeed a paradox.
Disclaimer: I in no way profit from recommending this product.
No household with pets should be with out this product or something like it. =]
my dogs loved this Himalayan dog chew
it took them a couple days to finish it. You can microwave the last little piece and it turns into a puff treat they thoroughly enjoyed.
Also, the Nylabone has lasted about 2 years and still usable. However, my pups don't seem as interested in it.
The crackle stick from Kong is pretty great. Really tough and doesn't squeek but crackles, so it's not as annoying.
I'm a couple days late to reply to this but....I seem to have the best luck with Outward Hound Invincible toys. My rottie doesn't tend to shred toys much but my pitbull does and these hold up the best (she's still able to shred them eventually, though). My favorite is their 6 ft snake toy (12 big squeakers) that my rottie and pit like to use for tug of war. I also have a bunch of their smaller ones like the gecko.
Just a mix of either Pedigree or Purina dry food, with Pedigree soft food mixed in. She's 100 lbs even, eats 1/2 big can of the Pedigree mixed with hard food twice a day. When she's older I will switch over to Eukanuba for Rottweilers. She also gets these treats. And she also gets a lot of human food as well. Every thing I eat, she has gotten a bite or a serving as well.
We've had really good luck with this style of harness. It only requires that you place it over their head and then connect some straps under their belly.
The halti works well for this because you can keep him from looking at what's happening. Also great for walks. We have an adjustable one for the size though. http://www.amazon.ca/HALTI-Halti-Headcollar-Black-Size/dp/B004XNLCPC
My guy loves this. I got him the 10" one. He runs around the yard playing "soccer" with it and gets playfully mad at it because he cant pick it up in his mouth.
