Vacuum insulated metal bottles, especially with a rubber grip, work great. So nice to drink that ice cold water in the heat.
Here is an example https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08JYR5Y5N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_Yv53FbY91F5AX
You can mount a 6 space 100amp box next to your main panel. Pull one of the 2pole breakers over to it, refeed stuff and then open up 4 more slots. Can also use the same mentality for a larger box next to your current electrical panel.
We use an Oontz Angle 3 placed facing up, under our seat in our barrel sauna. Sounds amazing as the barrel circulates the sound when I angle it up like that. Plus, at that level, even when we get it above 200º, it's barely 80º on the floor, if not cooler.
I used a door insert tempered glass. The custom options are super expensive, I’d find something that already exists. Not sure if this was it, but similar. https://www.amazon.com/ODL-Clear-Low-Door-Glass/dp/B071FZ5KGK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?keywords=door+glass+inserts&qid=1667493423&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjQ2IiwicXNhIjoiNC40NyIsInFzcCI6IjIuOTcifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1
Here was my approach, liked that they were IP65 waterproof. Been working for a few months, nice to be able to tune color and light intensity.
Here’s also a good alternative for those who live in the U.S. Similar style. This kind of laddle makes a huge difference in electric saunas. If you use the traditional wooden ”spoon”, you’ll just end up splashing water around. But with this one you can slowöy pour water on the stove and that makes a huge difference and you can hear the difference.
There. Did I sound like those tv shop guys?

I used this, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZYRB3TG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is very strong you won't have any problem with it tearing.
I went through a LOT of options. The dial ones didn't give me much confidence because they would never fluctuate while on.

I ended up with a digital WiFi meat thermometer. It seems very accurate, would need to test it, but it has four probes. I run one at head height, one at seat level and one outside for ambient temp.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XNTJKY4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The app sucks, but it seems to stay connected well. I'm not sure I'd trust it for data logging, but I can start the app and watch the temp increase.
Yes absolutely on this. I purchased this in duct fan :

This is a multi-speed fan and I am going to have it draw from underneath the bench below the foot bench level. This position is on the opposite wall of the heater a few inches off the floor. This is rated at 205 CFM which is way more than i need but has a very nice multi-speed control so it has a wide range of speeds I can experiment with to get the right draw going.
Good to know the CFM remains generally the same. Yes I was thinking specifically about the ability to maintain temps but hopefully my 6kw Harvia heater (which is a little oversized for the space volume) should give me a little advantage in making up for the increased air intake.
it was similar to this product; i applied it along the outside of the door so that the extra plastic covered the gap across the top of the glass. note that the extreme heat did cause the plastic to shrink a little bit it still covers the gap:

I've been using this one for about a week now, it can be set to 80C. Since you preheat them a little but open the bag (letting some heat out, it takes about 40 min to get that hot. Will try with a mylar sleeping bag inside too, blocks emf and should keep body heat hotter. https://www.amazon.com/Far-Infrared-Blanket-Generation-Slimming-Professional/dp/B096S8TLMB?crid=E3H9RQLRVV0Y&keywords=sauna+blanket&qid=1670809424&sprefix=sauna+blanket%2Caps%2C134&sr=8-15&ufe=app\_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-...

I have these wired into the wall under my bottom benches with a dimmer light switch outside in my changing room. I like them. They dim nicely too.
I was given a couple like these one Christmas......LOVE them! Use them all the time, you can lean at different angles as you slink down in the heat

I'm in a very similar situation to you, I've got a 6'x6' barrel, and I'm doing the mechcnically powered low-exhaust/high-intake.
For the exuast, I drilled a 4" hole (actually four 2" holes, because I don't have a large hole saw), and used this flexible ducting to run the exhaust fan a pretty fair ways away. Then I tapped into power from the heater, and ran the power cord through the duct to the exhaust fan on the far end of the duct.
Overall, this took me a couple hours, the hardest part was splicing in the power line to the sauna's heater controls. Definitely not code, but it'll do for now. :)
The fan has a bit of noise audible in the sauna itself, but it's a super low hum, and it does a good job of drowning out the ambient noise of the city I live in.
For the intake, I'm still working out how to drill the intakes above the rocks in the back wall, specifically what kind of hood on the outside to use to keep snow/rain from coming in.
I've been planning to use the AromaMist cleaner when it's time to clean our sauna. Admittedly, I have not used any cleaners inside our sauna yet, so I wouldn't be able to offer any anecdotal insight beyond what I'm reading online.
I got the light from Amazon, Strip light But you can get them from a ton of electronics stores. I’m a big fan of the Phillips Hue system. It’s a bit pricey but it’s quality.
The secrets of Finnish sauna design
Trumpkin's notes on building a sauna
Read the notes, then consider buying the book. After that, research more on specific topics.
My tip to you:
Believe what the experts say. There's a reason for every solution Finns use on building a sauna. You don't want to ruin your own sauna by going rogue. The law of löyly is real. Cold feet = sauna ruined.
A real wallet buster is 'Finnish Sauna: Design and Construction' for $270. Until Lassi's 'Secrets of Finnish Sauna Design' came out it was the only book in English that had relatively accurate information.
Hi, so far I am planning on putting and in-line fan. So since my duct runs in the wall from the sauna to the attic to the soffit I will put something line this in the attic inside the line.
On another post someone posted this.
https://www.amazon.ca/TerraBloom-Inline-Energy-Adjustable-Controller/dp/B07JNGS2V7/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2N9TNYDXSK6KD&keywords=TerraBloom%2BECMF-100%2C&qid=1663175055&sprefix=terrabloom%2Becmf-100%2C%2B%2Caps%2C72&sr=8-1&th=1
At the end of the day just make sure it has several different speeds and it can be control (in the best world via bluetooth or that you have enough cord to bring it to some kind of control). Ventech sells some. I haven't made my mind yet.
What can be a bit confusing for us Finns is that nobody ever had to think about this. The OP is talking about a standalone outdoor sauna with an electric stove. That combo is pretty rare in Finland, but most electric saunas in Finland have mechanic ventilation. We just don’t think about it, because the saunas are ventilated through the regular VAC system. The again, our outdoor saunas are heated with wood, so the gravity based ventilation works just fine.
Now, gravity-based ventilation ventilation in electric outdoor sauna is “ok”, but not great. It is up to you, how important you or your customer deems the importance of improving this. My thinking is that it makes difference. @zoinkabiljty provided some good reading on this and I have written a but less serious take on this as I wanted to study this for fun:
https://hakkasauna.com/2022/02/05/improving-ventilation-in-a-barrel-sauna/
I did my experience mainly to see of I can reduce heat stratification, but better air circulation came as a side product. Does it make a night and day difference? Maybe not, but I proved that I was able to reduce stratification and increase humidity on the bench level so I achieved my goals in this little project. Through trial and error, I found that there are big differences in fans in terms of noise. This one has been the best cheap fan I’ve found: AC Infinity RAXIAL S4, Inline... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZL6FDYG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Notice, that I didn’t try to make my solution aesthetically very appealing so I would not do exactly this to a customer. Just a fun experiment, nevertheless.
Is this something you're looking for?
Here you go: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084RMYY32
Again, it's wired, not a stove fan. You need to plug it in. And, it's noisy when it's running. I added a PWM to run slower/quieter when I want it to.
I use this fan and have it mounted under the bottom bench. I ended up using some duct too as there was a slight drone with the fan on.
I have intake holes above the heater and below because the sauna came with holes below the heater.
The sauna does have a passive exhaust vent in the top corner opposite the heater which I only open once I’m done using the sauna.
I have a Almost Heaven indoor btw
Just seeing this now sorry. Specifically, I bought this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00MX19M9E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
When I bought it a few years ago it was a lot cheaper than this. I imagine all of the portable dry saunas listed on amazon are similar and come from the same factory, so if you find a cheaper one on amazon they're likely the same quality. They're funny looking when using them, and you feel a bit silly using it, but they work really well for what it is. I'd say, they're like 90% as good as going to a normal sauna (that's totally subjective though).
I think there are lot of questions raised about the safety of use of cheaper saunas, but I've never had any issue. So I can't speak to any of that.
Hope that helps!
I installed some Polk indoor/outdoor speakers under the benches (these), about a foot off the floor, in my sauna. The temp near the floor isn't that hot. I don't think they're IPX-rated, but they carry a five-year warranty. I've only been using them for about six months but I'm pretty happy with them.
I have been planning one of these as well using a stock tank. Probably need a tank heater for the winter to keep it from freezing, or one of the pond ice devices. Check out this guys video, he's in Canada.
This book might be a good starting point. I haven’t read it but several Finns have recommended it to foreign sauna builders.
Thank you for your comment!
Edge banding used to protect car doors might work. It's a metal 'clamp' covered with plastic. https://www.amazon.com/SYOAUTO-Guards-Universal-Rubber-Protector/dp/B08Z49NGZ2/
I've used it to cover other metal edges with great success.
When I must wear something , I use synthetic active wear underwear that is made to breath. Here’s a pair of Ex Officios I first purchased for a backpacking trip because you can immediately shower and soap them up then wear them again once they dry. Hope this helps

I bring a waterproof stopwatch in if I'm trying to time my sessions.
I usually recommend what others have said which is just exiting when you feel like it.
But I agree that it's sometimes a fun exercise to see how long you're lasting in there. A waterproof stopwatch is the best way to accomplish this IMO.

Same setup for me. I got this one .
I’m currently needing more than an hour to heat up to proper temp, so not perfect yet, but I’ve got some experiments to run with shutting vents.
I went with this one and put it on a variable speed switch. Not rated for outdoor use, but I am using it to blow sauna air outside any way since the outdoor area is fully covered.

Vent under the heater (you can see it in the picture) then there ill be a vent up high by the door. I plan on building a bench up high and one bunch on the lower level.
Water will be in a wooden bowl next to the heater. No particular spot for the wooden bowl planned. Probably just set it on the lower bench.

Is it a momentary switch? "Wifi momentary switch" seems to come up with quite a few hits. Something like this might do it if you can tap into the switch circuit.

I don't think you could go wrong with these if you're looking for a 6w heat source. As a bonus you get some light!
This made me think of maybe try a wood stove fan; they are powered by heat and magic, thought probably won't work in a sauna. If one would work, the fan might be creatively hung at an upper angle to blow towards the ceiling to help push hot air back down.
In case of löyly, sure, I'm even questioning if it ever has had the meaning of spirit. Finnish folk lore saw that everything had a spirit for it, not that everything was a spirit. So your suggestion for origin of the term "löylynhenki" is that it is from before the "löyly" was considered a spirit and then at some point someone just started using "löyly" to mean "löylynhenki"?
And that is not what aninism means, I understand the concept you are trying to describe with that word, but it is a different word I'm trying to remember. And while it is a common pattern, it is not universal rule. When described as concrete meaning before abstract meaning, it holds bit more, but still not universal rule. And given how old terms we are discussing, there has been time for plenty of back and fort even when the original case might have been to that way.
They stay on the lower benches when the sauna is in use. These are what we are using if you are interested:

There have been many beautiful non-barrel sauna builds posted here. Someone probably sells them too. A handyman can probably make one to order for cheaper than buying a pre-fab barrel.
For the exterior, if it's freshly painted, it looks fine. Even if it isn't spectacular, if you have a pretty interior it makes up for it. And it's not difficult to get those aesthetics right, it has been done a million times over and it's pretty much already set in stone: wooden panels, wooden benches, atmospheric lighting and it's perfect.
You can get pre-made benches, but they're really not that difficult to make from scratch either. Just look at a couple of pictures for reference. If you don't have a miter saw use a circular saw with a fine toothed blade and a roofing square or straight edge to make straight cuts, get a box of screws that reach through the support beams and half way or three quarters into the boards and just start screwing. It's some of the most basic woodworking there is, no difficult joints, you don't need to make any crazy round / angled cuts. Just a couple of legs and evenly spaced equal length boards on top and maybe a face board to top it off.
For lighting you can just get a bunch of cheap waterproof/submersible RGB lights like these https://www.amazon.com/LOFTEK-Submersible-Waterproof-Underwater-Multi-Color/dp/B07YBXPBS5 and be done with it. Stick those under the benches and replace the batteries every now and then. If they're not too high up, they'll survive the heat just fine.
The most difficult part I think is going to be the electrical work for the stove if you get electric, but that's something you need to figure out with a pre-fab sauna too.
Back from my days working with security systems you may be looking for a wired door sensor like the following.
Some of them have a specific resistive value that says when it's open vs closed. Something like 500k ohms when closed and 2k ohms when open.
You could try putting a resistor across the contact to see which one works...
Or maybe it's just a simple 0 ohms vs infinite ohms...
Here's the one I bought and still use a year later. I have it in the corner of my bedroom (I live in an apartment so I keep it in the East Wing - lol - sorry, just trying to fit in with all the Rockefeller's that are apparently here):

It's fairly easy to move around and keep clean. I'm a big beefy guy, 6 foot tall so I had to get a heavy duty chair to sit inside even though it came with a tiny chair that actually could support me. There's a bigger version of this steamer that I would've got if I had a little more room but this one is fine. I might upgrade the steam generator it came with later. I got a bluetooth speaker with a light, it has a flap window that lets me reach for a cold water bottle I put on top of it - and basically I'm good to go!

Another thing I could do is just put a battery-powered LED light on the other side of my candle window.
I’m looking at lighting too … I’m looking at 12v lights as my sauna is outdoor and off-grid. I also want something I can tuck behind seat backs or under seats… I love the indirect lighting you see in a lot of sauna pics.
From what I’ve been reading, LED lights aren’t great in heat. It causes them to quickly fade and fail.
My current (crazy?) idea is plastic fiber optic glow cable.
According to the seller, the material is ok to 80c, and the light source can be kept outside the hot room preserving the LED.
I might buy some of the cable and pop it into a 180f oven to see what happens. :)
I had one of these in the house already, so I just moved it into the sauna for a few days : https://www.amazon.com/Airthings-2930-Quality-Detection-Dashboard/dp/B07JB8QWH6?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp&th=1&psc=1
I have a Harvia 6.5Kwh heater which comes with a mechanical timer. I put this in line : https://www.amazon.com/GE-Appliance-Required-Works-SmartThings-14285/dp/B00YTCZZF0 which gives me remote control over the power. You do need to fix the mechanical timer so its always on (simple screw to keep it in place). Im using a hubitat Hub which allows for some automation. I created a simple flow that says If the sauna turns on, turn off in 2 hours.
I work in film doing rigging. Sometimes we use a bander (ratcheting tool) to tie down a load of metal truss or scaffolding when it’s being transported. You feed a metal band into the tool and crank it to tighten.
The materials and tool should be a lot cheaper than $500.
You would need a roll of stainless band like this:
BAND-IT VALU-Strap Band C13499, 200/300 Stainless Steel, 1/2" Wide x 0.015" Thick (100 Foot Roll) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B005V48H3M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_6G2CYZPZKQWFAKDYD15C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And a bander tool like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MBIRF5W/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=&psc=1 was the one someone suggested. You need a z-wave hub for that one though. I think there are wifi and zigbee options as well -- you want to make sure it is rated for enough current though..
Same. Ran these $20 led strips under the benches and they work fine. The temperature doesn’t get above 50C/120F under the benches in my sauna even if it gets to 90C/195F on the head level.
Btw, these lights have nice aurora effect in the app. Very relaxing for a sauna.

Bought this one. It arrived today and just used it. Seems nice took like 20 minutes to heat up to 140. Feel good after taking a cold shower righ after.
i bought one very close to this heres mine

i like it work hella good and get the room hot in about 30 mins and really really hot in a hour
What smart system are you running? (ZigBee, hue etc) if what you have is ZigBee compatible there are a few really good ZigBee led controllers, I have two in mine running LEDs under the bench and a seperate set in the change room. I like to set the sauna to a nice warm orange red and the change room to a cool blue purple. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07VX5FQR3/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_R4TZQYBY14C29JPM1T71
That's the controller I have but be aware to match the controller to the led strip type (white only, RGB, RGB+CCT)
FWIW, I just ordered these bad boys off of Amazon. We're just over a year in now and they're still working fine. They did stretch out a bit underneath the benches though, so I've had to re-tack them up in a couple spots.
Second this. I have the same setup. I considered circumventing the timer, but decided against it for safety and energy savings protection.
For my 6kW heater, I used the following:
Packard - DP301202 C230B 2 Pole 30 Amp Contactor, 120 Voltage CoilAmazon link
Agreed on local - but as your screenshot was from Amazon you can also get it from there.

There are quite a few discussions of the topic on this r/Sauna. I haven't yet done this, so it is probably worth searching hose out. Seems like The Aerotec heavy duty smart switch is commonly suggested -- It requires a Z-wave controller though.. Probably any 220V control box similar to that would work, so long as it handles the amperage of your heater.
Nope, door is too thin for the deadbolt to be in.
I found this glass door lock on a quick search. Maybe they have a number pad options if you do some more digging

Just getting started with a sauna and decided to use a 5x5 grow tent with 4x infrared bulbs. Got the idea from looking at this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WC64NPQ but wanted more than what this panel would offer.
I would agree. However, I think I have the same sauna and stove and I also ran out of stones.
I added some lava stones on the top. Not sure if those should be used or not but I did: Margo Garden Products DFBLP2-20 Dragon Glass Lava Pebbles, 20 lb, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UI8KJJG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_gsGz1B4t8kS43
+1 on getting seating that gets you up to rock level. We got two directors chairs (seat at 18") and my husband made a table/footrest that gets us to the right height. I like to lean back in the sauna, and the one drawback of a tent is it's hard to do that. We also got a rechargeable fan to circulate the air (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089PY6T3P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which really helps with the temperature differences.

Yeah. I just bought this on amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009OXZ0OU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_DHC0X21Y9Q9NZES2EF77
Well see how it goes. I also think it will help everything get hotter because the thermostat for the heater is mounted near the top of the barrel (where it's supposed to go), but since that's always the hottest part, the heater kicks off early.
Well, turns out you can buy sauna wood stoves on Amazon with free shipping.

This works perfectly. I’m sure you could find one for $40-$60 just like it but I just went for this one. It was this or upgrading to an 8kw heater but that wouldn’t fix the circulation.

The Art of Sauna Building. Great resource, it’s what we used to build ours, lots of advice and logistics info. Cover is classic.
You are probably kidding, but I actually use this directly on the element: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C533XCW/
It sprays such a fine mist, everything vaporizes instantly with no drips, or liquid water collecting.
I bought these and they’ve been great Homemory LED Candles https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08BL6K6XW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_HSH8FbSYKHEQY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. I use them in the room outside the sauna inside on the lower bench.
Maybe this?

they should be cheap, simple, not electronical as they might not handle moisture and warm. https://www.amazon.com/Bjerg-Instruments-Thermometer-Temperature-Measurement/dp/B08KYC3T7R/ref=sr_1_8?crid=2QA82T8BLHJAS&dchild=1&keywords=sauna+thermometer&qid=1609281623&s=lawn-garden&sprefix=sauna+the,aps,251&sr=1-8 that look like how most sauna thermometers look like. Simple wood+metal parts.
Ofc they might not be 100% accurate, but thats not the point of sauna. Every now and then when I visit somebodys sauna, they notice that their thermometer might be a bit "lazy" and they add temperature "just in case". Cold sauna is more bad than "too hot".
edit: ofc sauna can be dangerous. Dont fall asleep there/pass out in there, and never install a lock into your sauna-door.
Posting this because I had trouble selecting a bench that I could order for a reasonable price.
I am not a handy man; if I were I would have built a sauna. I am a generally lazy person who wants to sauna in my suburban backyard before or after work with store bought firewood.
Here is my setup and a link to the benches I bought on amazon used for $100 each. Easy to screw the legs in.
I found a use for the roasting pan that came with my oven; it's just a placeholder for steam until I find proper rocks nearby. When not in use I've been storing my seed trays and bonsai jalapeno in there for warmth.
As you can see there is a gap on the corner, I left it there for keeping drinks in the cool air coming from under my deck.

I'm looking at this model, not sure if I need to get one with a sperate control panel: Harvia CILINDRO PC CHROME - 6.8 kW, Control unit: Built-in by SaunaInter Learn more: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IRAYWJA/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_QmsWFbDR6W06S
I'm also installing this heater - the manual calls for an 8/2 wire (since its more than 30 ft from breaker), but it looks like the 8/2 wire only has a white and a black cord (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQP1DY/ref=crt_ewc_img_srh_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2JGH9K1780DGL), and no red? Is this the right cable to use?
that sounds amazing.
It could be something as simple as brining one of these to a body of water.

You should be able to condition it and have it return to normal. Same thing happened to me and I have long super wavy hair (am a dude). I ordered a sauna hat and I wear that now while I'm in it with my hair in a high bun tucked into the hat. Now with the sauna as well I find I need less showers and don't need to wash my hair as much sweating so much is basically like a shower and just drying myself off with a towel after my skin looks and feels like I just had a shower and I don't smell at all. It's amazing.
But yes, sauna hat. For example:

This is the hat that I bought for both myself and my wife. They are very authentic, pure fresh wool (smells like it just came off the animal when you take it out of the plastic bag hahahaha...its okay the smell goes away in like a day) and by wearing it I can actually stay in longer its as if it insulates my head a bit from the heat. Plus having a sauna hat is fucking cool if you ask me.
I put this oven child safety lock at the top of my sauna for the same reason (I have a 5 year old and 2 year old). So far (about a month or so), it has worked great at keeping them out, and I feel like if I happened to get locked in, a good shove on the door from inside should be able to get it off. Good luck!
We bought this one and it's working great for us. Tested it for accuracy and haven't had any issues.
I know.
My question is - What is a dry steam sauna?
This is a dry steam sauna heater - https://www.amazon.com/VEVOR-Mount-Steam-Sauna-Heater/dp/B07F685XKK/. What is this?
Govee has a wifi thermometer/hygrometer that is budget friendly - it stores historical data too via the app and has alerts (only downside is the max alert temp is 140).
I actually got the bluetooth one just to try it out - may return and go for the wifi one so I can watch temp while I'm out of bluetooth range. I've run it 3 times to 190 f - no issues so far.
Before I found a good deal on a sauna, I was looking at grow tents (like this) and trying to modify it with an IR heater or the included unit from one of those weird Mylar “chair saunas” that I always see.
Most apartments have an oven/range so 220 is available, but it depends on what breaker circuits you already have and what the sauna heater calls for.
I have a small condo and have a 220V / 30amp circuit for a wall heater. I tee'd off it with pigtails and created a new 10-30r outlet where the heater thermostat used to be. You can use a dryer cord to from the sauna heater to this type of outlet provided your outlet isn't too far away. I just can't ever use both the wall heater and sauna at the same time.
I got quoted $500 to 2000 to run a dedicated new circuit - so it was better just to DIY it and verify with multimeter. It's not too hard to cut some drywall, add an outlet, then drywall repair.
Granted I haven't tried it yet since AH is backed up with orders.
Paraffin oil / liquid paraffin is the usual choice in Finland. There are some fancy products like the "tikkurila supi sauna wax", but I believe they're mostly just variations of paraffin oil.
The same stuff you use to protect food cutting boards. (odorless mineral oil?)
For some reason, in English all I seem to get from amazon.com is lamp oil. Do not use that for treating wood in sauna, it will burn.
This seems to be the same stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Mineral-Cutting-Butcher-Stainless-Approved/dp/B00VNI1JI0 there's several brands available in that category (butcher block / cutting board treatment mineral oil)
This is as easy as a $6 oven/kitchen timer or as expensive as a $1000 iPhone. I mean really, you need help with this? Sunbeam 408441 61040 Timer, 60 Minutes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I18PHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DsuYDbM6Q36M5
