Check the Goodwill stores. They sell refurbished matresses and box springs (basically take out all the upholstery, put new stuff in with the old springs) for about 200. I got a queen, put it on a futon, and put a thick memory foam topper on it and it suits me fine.

Try AirBnB in those areas (this URL is set to Lynnwood atm). It's essentially a home/apartment share website where you can use people's places like hotels. A lot of these folks are either renting out a private room in the home they live in or just live elsewhere at the moment/are traveling and have their entire place available.
If you plan on staying for an extended amount of time, you may be able to work something out with them personally that would make it a lot cheaper for you to stay there. This in turn would probably benefit them as well because having you there constantly is more profit than if they would have to just hope someone chose to rent out their place.
Obviously the places with private rooms are generally cheapest, but since you are looking in more suburban areas, it might be easy to find a really affordable full home to shack up in for a little while. Perhaps even c
I use these ALL the time when traveling and they are just great!
Well, you can always check out AirBnB for cheap temporary rentals. I have seen a few on there that are around $30/night in Belltown. There is also the Green Tortoise Hostel. They charge about $35/night, but it is centrally located. There are other hostels in both Belltown and the Int'l District.
If you want to save some money and can deal with "slumming it", I work for the Seattle Housing and Resource Effort (S.H.A.R.E.), and we run shelters all over the city. Our spots are mostly in churches, and our occupants are really nice people, generally. You get a mat and bedding, and a place to store your things during the day. Our shelters are clean and safe, we even have wifi! Many of us use the DESC Connections day center that has a computer lab and free telephones for job hunting.
This may not be your cup of tea, but it's something to fall back on if something else doesn't work out. Feel free to PM me if you need any further details.
Best of luck!
