Started playing with my ESP32 cam last night for the first time.
Deployed shanobi this morning and tried this on the espcam $9 RTSP Video Streamer Using the ESP32-CAM Board - Hackster.io
I can get the rtsp feed into VLC (little slow) & into Home assistant (barely usable) & decided to try my luck with Shanobi, could not the the same rtsp feed into Shanobi but I could get the web feed working.
Playing with the setting a little setting a little and the feed is running okay.
Let us know if you tried the tasmota web server ? Ill do my second esp32_cam with the tasmota next week and compare the two (heat & feed quality / speed)
sigh. ive tested all open source solutions: zoneminder, shinobi, kerberos.io etc and none worked for onvif ptz.
but xeoma worked for me out of the box - might have to just buy the license.
Most likely pivoting to this Hikvision.
Some of the Amcrest cameras are Dahua rebrand cam

>Im hoping someone releases a good opensource mobile client to go with the opensource server perhaps, then it might be worth moving from BlueIris
For viewing current streams, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rcreations.WebCamViewerPaid is really nice alternative. There are free versions too in the app store, use them to test this. You will also need to create API key in Shinobi and build stream URL.
For me it lags like hell, 15sec or so, but it works fine.
I also used nginx as reverse proxy for HLS stream in order to ensure only HTTP requests that contain whitelisted tokens would be allowed as I exposed that port to the whole internet. :)
It's a bit hacky, but I got it working with this app by configuring it to display the shinobi web UI as a android tv screen saver.

Disclosure: im the developer of it and it's paid (though cheap)
sounds good ill be on the lookout for the update.. right now i have a bunch of 4K amcrest streaming h265 directly to my FREENAS box via NFS ..

this is the app i am using (well the pro version)... 10,000,000 downloads for ip cam app aint too shabby... and looks like people getting upset because he is putting lots of advertisement in the product... but not in the pro version
