She went aground in 1910 after a collision with a mailboat off Dover, England. The lifeboats couldn't get to her through the breaking seas, so one of the lifeboatmen climbed down the cliffs above her on a rope ladder and fired a rocket gun to get a line across. Saved everyone aboard. Original newspaper piece here.
