My buddy bought this and has been swearing by it. I despise Amazon, but it's $329 on the reaper site: https://www.amazon.com/Paint-Complete-Set-09001-09108-09951/dp/B001CEE4WI/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?adgrpid=57605960338&gclid=Cj0KCQiAsoycBhC6ARIsAPPbeLsIuFyOEUFe15eV8zUH0mTcZy0uvfvosMhaELfS1ErHrtZ2Y-R53U0aAmlzEALw_wcB&hvadid=617134525094&hvdev=...
Regarding technical definition of fascism , I like umberto ecos list.
The imperium meets at least 11 of those and 2 others could be Argued for. As far as I’m concerned , yes technically the imperium is fascist . ( as if a authoritarian theocracy / oligarchy is any better which is the only other thing you could say the imperium is )
You will need some way to wash and cure the models with either mars. This can be done in a few ways.
1) you can get a wash and cure station. this is the most expensive option but it will do exactly what you want it to do without any fuss.
2) you can make a wash station and a cure station. For me I just use a metal bowl and swish the model in there with some Isopropyl alcohol using gloves (ALWAYS USE GLOVES WHEN HANDLING LIQUID RESIN). Then I pour that isopropyl into a bowl outside to allow it to evaporate and the dissolved resin to cure (at which point I can scrape it off and throw it away). For curing, I took an empty paint bucket and lined it with aluminium HVAC tape and UV LED strips. it works, just not well on anything large. All in, it cost about 40 bucks IIRC.
A Quick note on resin. Get the good stuff. I like Siryaya tech grey for my miniatures. it tends to be tougher than the cheaper stuff and is still reasonably affordable at 37 bucks per kg https://www.amazon.com/ABS-Like-Curing-Non-Brittle-Printing-Resin/dp/B08SQW6RQS
If you’re psychopathic enough to actually want an answer to this question then perhaps the book “Blood In the streets” might interest you. It’s written by an investment banker called Sir William Rees-Mogg; if that name is familiar to you it’s because Sir Billy is the father of Jacob Rees-Mogg, Tory MP and minister of state for Brexit Opportunities.
Make of that what you will. And please don’t buy that fucking book.
Haha, awesome! Sounds great :P I've yet to try frostgrave/stargrave myself, but I definitely want to!
I just got this cheap yard of coarse black muslin off of Amazon and hung it up in the traditional "sweep" - I might have gone a bit larger than a yard for full army shots given how cheap muslin is, but those are rare to take, so eh. Seemed to work pretty well after an ironing to get out the harshest folds!
Editing is fucking hard. Not to sound like a capitalist oppressor, but I understand completely why you pay people to do that for you.
For a start, it's tough to be objective about your own work, in both directions. Either hanging on to an idea you think that's great (that's actually shit) or going full imposter syndrome on something that's genuinely amazing. It's impossible to detach yourself from something you've made. It's why a lot of those 'writing your first novel huh' advice columns recommend giving it a few weeks/months to cool off before you come back at it - then read it as though it's by someone you have a personal dislike for.
It's also perishing hard to watch all those words go under the knife. I'm a big far of the Hemingway Editor. It's got a lot of simple checks (like adverbs and passive voice) but my favourite is the 'this is wank' red highlight. Anything overly complex and purple will get smacked with the Red Highlight which generally concludes in rewriting whole paragraphs. And as you're going over making your work readable, you're chopping all kinds of shit out. Poor word choices. Irrelevant passages. Etc, etc.
It's tough to look at a big thing you've written and see that a) it's pretentious bunk and b) once you're done with it, you've lost a few hundred words at least, after you put so much effort into them.
My favourites quote ever for editing is from Fallen London: "One darling remains unmurdered."
I got this set mainly for the compressor but it’s really good value for money Fengda Airbrush Kit with Compressor Set FD-186K with compressor FD-186, Airbrush BD-130 and accessories https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01984G4SU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_9YSRV9166NQ6KJMSTJDS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use vallejo thinner and cleaner but that’s only really due to convenience. I use stylnelrez primer. Make sure you have a respirator mask too!
I also brought a cleaning kit but it’s not very useful for me if I’m honest!
Though Amazon sucks, I found these to be really good! https://www.amazon.com/Detail-Brushes-Miniature-Detailing-Painting/dp/B075L8LCTG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=miniature+brushes&qid=1628259191&sr=8-1
This is the edition I've got, if you're looking. The whole run was collected in three volumes (there were some strips published subsequently, but they're pretty bad and do nothing but detract from the ending, imo).
ah, there is actually someone that specialises in armour that says that its less of a concern, one thing though is that its kinda useless since armour usually has a gambeson beneath it, plus armour already has a chest curve such as in these pictures, these are significantly easier to forge and don't inconvenience you when doing certain two-handed moves

here you go
I already liked Rites of Passage, but the fact that it's apparently pissing off the right people makes me an even bigger fan.
By the way, there's only one user review for Rites of Passage on Amazon, and it's very chuddy.
LOL this was done with a paint job app. It's called Impcat. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.DesignBench.impcat
I think they have an iPhone version of the app now. Yes, it costs money, but it's worth it because you can bang out something like this in about ten-fifteen minutes.
A cheap back brace is absolutely worth it. I grabbed one of these (amazon link). It doesn't do much other than annoy you & feel uncomfortable if your posture is bad. That was a big enough reminder for me.
Helps me keep my shoulders back and correct my slouch when hobbying/programming.
It's probably best to avoid GW sprays in general. Every one I have ever bought have been way too expensive ($20 for less than half the uses than a sandable primer). I would recommend a Rust-Oleum sandable primer. This is the can I use but please don't buy it from Amazon. You can usually get it from a hardware store for like $8 and it lasts twice as long as the GW ones.
As for paints, I'm sorry but I only really use GW paints. You shouldn't need that many to paint some raptors though. Just don't use GW brushes.
You can't use regular black acrylic to prime because it doesn't bind to plastic like the primers do.
Also make sure to varnish your models. This is the varnish I use, but again fuck Amazon but it somewhere else if you do. Make sure with a varnish that you spray it on a low humidity day and that's it's not cold out when you spray it.
