This is the link to the Play Store.

Kinda bullshit though. I have a Moto G5S, a Pixel C and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A and it's not available for any of them.

Here's the play store link, it's $5 a month. Matches are posted very quickly, but have no commentary and the app spoils the results.
It's a solid option but it could be better.
I bought a coffee table book in a 2nd hand bookstore that explained all about sumo with heaps of pictures however it was from the 1980's and all the rikishi are long retired. Looks like most of the people in my facebook group are buying this book:
https://www.amazon.com/Way-Salt-Understanding-Japan-Sumo/dp/1658896882
This book on amazon has all the 82 techniques listed and explained. I wish there was a kindle version, and the drawings are a little off sometimes, but on the whole it's quite the resource.
I saw this mini-documentary about former Chiganoura Okami-san, Sekiwake Masudayama's wife, while browsing on Netflix. It's from episode 32 of the 2008 series Japanese Style Originator. I only managed to record the documentary via phone since screen grabbing and screen recording is now banned on Netflix. It's about 6 minutes long starting 42:45. For anyone who wants to see an HD version, you can watch it on Netflix.
More information about the series from TV Tokyo (In Japanese).
>Episode Summary: A day with strong women of Japan, including a nun, the head of a sumo stable, a rakugo comedian, and a portable shrine carrier in a festival.
Mori and Mugi, the Sumo Stable Cats
I actually have this book. It's adorable, put this on your coffee table and you won't be able to stop visitors from paging through it.
Sumo and the Woodblock Print Masters
Someone buy this right now because there is 1 for sale on Amazon and I paid $80+ from 3rd party a long while back. $30 is an absolute steal.
Not history, but it has detailed descriptions and pictures of sumo techniques. The pictures are drawn pictures not actual sumo bouts. It details all the kimarite and stuff too.
I can't positively say this since I haven't bought one myself in quite a while (well, bought = ordered; I'm not in Japan), but if you're specifically looking for the banzuke, then at least one of the sumo monthly print mags used to include it for the basho tournament editions. So for that an airport bookstore might be an option if you're willing to pay more than the cover price of a banzuke.
A quick look on Amazon shows these two magazines on the market for November: <em>Sumo</em> and <em>Ozumo Journal</em> - Sumo specifically says in its content description that a banzuke is included as a supplement.
There's an official app if you only care about makuuchi bouts and don't mind not seeing them live.
I like David Shapiro's commentary on senshuraku (the final day of the basho) and think he's the best of all colormen hired by NHK. He has written 'A Sumo a Pocket Guide.'

Just wondering I use NordVPN, ExpressVPN and Panda but cannot access AbemaTV. Am I missing a config or something? I am so disappointed. I have been following some of the shows in there for a while now. All of a sudden in the past few months I could not get it. It says.. something like only for Japan viewers only. Which is strange.. we buy so much from Japan, etc.. and yet we are treated like this. All of us drive to some extent Japanese vehicles and even the foods, the list is long. We should all sign a petition for this geographic restriction. Someone an attorney can help maybe here?
