No, the red bolts are not different. The "Quick Fit" is in regards to the tool-less bolt (rather than needing a screwdriver). I'd say get a 2 or 3 pack and leave an extra in your glovebox (or some other place) so if you lose part of it on your way to the water you won't be totally... screwed (I'll see myself out).

Other than that, I always carry a dry bag with sunscreen, water and granola bar, and a waterproof pelican case for my phone, keys and ID.
I've been using the Anker Soundcore 2 for a year now and I love it. Great sound quality, loud, waterproof, amazing battery life.. Really no complaints at all. for $40 you can't go wrong. When I'm on my sup I secure it to the top of my cooler with a bungee cord. I use it to listen to music around the house and at the beach as well.
I use these with my sunglasses. They’ll float your glasses in case they come off if you fall in.

I have 4 different balance boards, but the one that feels closest to being on the water on a narrow board is a Goof Board sitting on top a couple of inflatable balance discs. The Goof Board with the roller they sell it with is excellent for surf training but totally overkill for SUP practice, and doesn't give the up-&-down feeling of the balance discs.
You could make a really good imitation of my setup with a 44" x 16" x 3/4" sheet of plywood for a lot less money. Put the discs underneath the board at the long ends, and then practice standing on it like you would when paddling, or cross-stepping, or stepping back and lifting the nose like during a pivot turn.

I recently picked up a 3 piece adjustable NRS paddle. It is carbon with a bent shaft. These are $150. 2 ride so far and seems like a good performer. I would trust it with white water rides.
Edit: Link
You can always add a traction pad to the front of your existing board for your doggo. We had to add these to our isups anyways, but maybe other brands have traction in the front.
I recently picked up this BPS two-piece carbon shaft paddle. It was the lightest of the well reviewed ones on Amazon and the price wasn’t too bad.
It’s a HUGE upgrade from the guide-spec alloy paddle I had, and the anti-twist locking feature is killer. No data yet on durability (I have only gone out once so far with it) but it seems like a winner so far.
Do you have hard boards? We got some Lil suckers. We have inflatables with a lot of traction padding though. I can suction it towards the front, but that's where my dog goes. I will say I've been using it on my thermos I use at home and it has stopped my dog from nose bonking / tipping my bottle on my nightstand. It suctions enough that it'll pick up the glass top on my nightstand, a wood cutting board, hell it even got stuck to a concrete parking block I set it on the other day. If you have hard boards or areas without traction pad they should work fine. I watched this video comparing the toadfish and the Lil sucker before buying ours. Not saying the toadfish is bad, I just went the other route and am happy with it.

I've used this one for almost 3 years now. No issues at all. It use to only be $45, but I'd gladly pay the $60 if mine breaks.
I recommend $480CA Serene Life or $499CA Serene Life "Free Flow" boards. I know several people with these serene life boards and they work great. Then get a lightweight carbon fiber paddle when you can and you will be set for several seasons.
That Aqua Plus board looks very similar quality to the GOPLUS $279usd that I started on. I see GOPLUS has boards on Canada Amazon in the same $430CA price range. Mine worked okay, had to patch the board once, but I had problems with the accessories: hand pump didn't work, replacement pump cracked, paddle handle cracked, paddle pin latch rusted away, tote bag is flimsy.
The serene life or comparable price point board is my recommended starting point for beginners to get a good balance of quality and good value. I use an iRocker Sport now and it has noticeably better quality construction and accessories, but Serene Life boards are a good place to start. hope this helps you.
This is the same pump I purchased recently. I've used it twice now and it works beautifully. I've also taken to bringing my CAT Power Station Jump Starter with me that I bought from Costco years back to inflate my wife's kayak with a handheld electric pump while the Sevylor works on my SUP. Cuts down on inflation time and reduces likelihood of burning anything out.
My bad, I guess I don't know how to use the phone app haha. It's here:
I’ve use [this pump](www.amazon.com/dp/B00HN93D8M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_1P0XX20M8YP3RQ1NSPBQ) for 3 years now and it’s been worth every penny. Takes about 10 minutes for my Atoll, and even less for a smaller board.
Not sure if it’s available where you are, but I recently bought a Famistar inflatable SUP for use on a lake. They have three sizes under $300 (US). We bought it to see if we’d use it enough to actually invest in a more expensive one. It’s probably not the most durable, but it’s definitely worth looking at if you can get it in your area.
It’s on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FH6LQ3M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_G569NV8F3MDYW6AK6AND
I bought this one and it works great on my Irocker Cruiser and my new Blackfin XL. Seals nice and you can use any pump to inflate. My plan was to use a ryobi dual air pump, which works, but it takes a LOOOONG time though. Good SUPing!
I'm fairly certain this is the same board my wife bought last year. She got it dirt cheap through something like a groupon or stacksocial deal. The paddle that came with it is exactly as you described, metal/plastic with no curve or angle to it at all.
The board itself has been a lot of fun and it's what we use for the kids. I finally got around to buying a replacement paddle for it this week. Bought this one off Amazon for less than $200 and liked it so much that I decided to keep it for myself and let my old paddle go with the SPK.
I'm also in the same boat. I live in the city about a 10 min walk from a beach and don't really have space to store a regular SUP and just learned about the inflatables. I really just want to use it to get out on the water, take advantage of my proximity to the beach, and give me a healthy outdoor activity to do in the summer. Since this will be my first SUP, I was hoping to try it with minimal investment.
Has anyone had experience with the $250 Bestway HydroForce White Cap or the $320 Pathfinder? Both seem to have good reviews on Amazon...I'm also intrigued with the added seat and having it double as a, what I assume will be, a shitty kayaking experience.
I've had this in my Amazon cart for a while but haven't actually pulled the trigger yet. And now I'm seeing that there are only two left! I favored it because of the reviews and because it has no logos. I wanted something that either looked really cool or was practically invisible. This is pretty much invisible.
I had an issue with this when I was doing a lot of paddling combined with a lot of computer work/gaming. I recommend a good hand massager. I got this one recently and it has been worth the money.
I bought this one. Going on two years strong. https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Electric-Air-Pump-Compressor/dp/B07P67X5G8/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=isup+pump&qid=1595614713&sr=8-4
I use this: Chums Original Cotton Standard End Eyewear Retainer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXKNHZV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_YmkfFb8FX0GH7
Bright green so it stands out easier if they do fall off. I feel your pain too, I’m -6 in each eye, would have to get down in the water to find my glasses cause I wouldn’t be able to see them standing LOL. Bright green or orange should stand out nicely.
Edit: be warned, they don’t float, but the bead slides along the retainer and won’t allow glasses to fall off in the first place.
Gonna be honest here: I got a cheap (~$300) Amazon inflatable SUP because I just wasn't ready to devote real money to it yet. It it a little slower, especially in slightly choppier waters or going against the wind? For sure. However, I can't see myself ever going for a hard board because the inflatable is SO EASY to manage.
Mine folds up into a large duffel bag and I can just throw it in the back of my car, so I don't have to worry about transporting it or moving it far distances. I'm an average height female and I'm pretty strong but know I'd struggle transporting a full size hard board myself.
If you do get an inflatable, you absolutely must buy the automatic pump. It's so worth the cost. The hand pump had me absolutely winded before I even entered the water and took such a long time. So I'll pull up to wherever I'm parking, unfold the board, plug in the pump to my car's aux outlet, and let it fill up while I put on sunblock and get my stuff ready. It usually takes 15 minutes but again I'd spend that time getting ready anyway.
So I upgraded the pump and am considering getting a better paddle, but I don't regret my purchase at all. Again, for me, I just want a way to be able to casually hang out on the lake near my city and get a decent workout. I saw that you wanted to do yoga on your board, so you may want to find a larger size that is a bit more sturdy- mine would be quite a big wobbly if I tried to have a real practice.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

I have the Bodyglove iSUP as well and a 4Runner with factory rack and cross bars. I used this: Thule 531 Express Surf Strap Blue One Pair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004MZZF4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vUrMBbFBE2SF3
Makes securing them so much easier. I don’t think you can fit 2 iSUPs and a kayak though. The BG is a thick and wide board. To strap 2 to my roof, I used an additional 1 foot loop of webbing to get a little more reach on the strap.
I am very pleased with this, you can set the PSI and it auto-inflates! $51.85 is what I paid for it, not sure why the price jumped so much. It inflates mine quite nicely to 15 PSI.
It does NOT deflate though, whereas the Tower Paddleboard model will do that for you.
It looks like you have two issues :
What you should do :
- completely unscrew the valve.
- properly clean the different parts, remove dirt...
- wait for it to be dry.
- glue the ring (look for the instructions, you have to let it dry some minutes before pressing the parts)
- wait for the glue to dry
- screw the valve
I mentioned this in another comment, but do practice before trimming the gasket. Know exactly what tool you'll use and how you'll be doing it. I found that one of these worked well.
Anyone use these drysuits? They're cheaper than normal but not the ultra sketchy $100 drysuits you see on Aliexpress. Thoughts?
Saw this post on FB Marketplace near me. Looks interesting for the price if the condition is good?
No.
Get one that is designed for paddlesports, not "Wakeboarding, Water Skiing, or Tubing" as this one states in its description. Your armpits will thank you when they aren't chaffed after 5 minutes of paddling.
If you are on a tight budget, you could get this for under $40. https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Comfort-Series-Life-Vest/dp/B00EVIP3CC
I prefer PFDs that are made by paddling brands for paddling specifically, but they are $80-$300, but something like above will be way more comfortable than what you linked originally.
Safety gear isn't something to skimp out on, IMO. If you do have room in your budget for something nicer, let me know and I can help you find a comfortable, paddling-specific, PFD.
Just a swept back plastic fin. At 5” it was scraping the concrete bottom on the slide a little. I saw some people with shorter fins or even cut down surf fins. A Frog Fish Fin would be good. I might buy one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JDTJW8O/

I've been using these ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016K5TBKS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They've worked great for me. I can unclip from the lanyard to take photos.
So, YMMV and all, but since the iPhone lost the old-fashioned headphone jack, they've been waterproof. So, in my view, the biggest risk is loss rather than immersion. So I run one of these on my normal phone case, zipped into my PFD pocket. Not ideal, but it seems to work OK.
Probably better off replacing the mount. I bought thiskit for the FCS mount, but it had a couple of adhesive backed mounts meant to stick on the board included. Not vouching for any of it yet because I have not installed the mounts. I will say the plastic parts feel well made.
i use a airmat inflator then switch it over to a electric tire pump. the adapters for inflatables are fairly cheap. https://www.amazon.com/PeSandy-Inflatable-Compressor-Converter-Multifunction/dp/B089NM8BXP?th=1
car to water is like 7-8 minutes..
Regular PVC based glue works just fine for attaching new D-Rings. It's pretty easy.
However, I use one of these for longer paddles:
It is not a 'seat', its basically a kneeling aid. It's plastic, small & lightweight - I just keep it in my dry bag and pull it out when needed. It does not need to be permanently secured with d-rings and lashings, and stays in place just from my body weight.
It was a total game-changer for me.
FYI - your board surface is still epoxy and fiberglass. It's not raw bamboo sitting on the top surface. Bamboo can be used as a veneer within the construction process, but it's definitely not an external material. You could still do this, however you'd want to make sure to seal the wood with a ton of epoxy first, then sand both surfaces and epoxy them together.
Or skip like 8 steps and buy a tail pad for a surfboard and put it on in. We did that for my wife's Bounce SUP and it's worked really well. I just laid out the new section on the board, cut out the deck pad where I needed to with a sharp razor blade, then made sure the board surface was clean before I peeled off the adhesive back and slapped it on. This is the one I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082V3WMLG
I’m curious about this as well. Have seen people using this one
Seems pretty decent
Got it from amazon a few tears ago, looks like this one
This is a good cheap pump, but it's annoyingly shaped and doesn't deflate like a lot of other pumps. The big plus is it's very fast - about 3 minutes faster than the iRocker pump, despite being cheap. Unfortunately it's almost doubled in price since I ordered. That being said, I would highly recommend getting the best pump you can afford, it's fully worth it. The iRocker pump is great, deflate feature is a lifesaver. I also highly recommend the iRocker battery!
I ordered this one in May:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q2S57PG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
had it shipped to Austria, worked conveniently. The pump is awesome, I have filled up four boards on one battery. Unfortunately it's unavailable atm..
Amazon have the Bluefin Cruise 10 8 for 400, and the 12 for 415. link
I got one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JGDGYJY
and use it with a 12V pump. I needed a USB bank for camping and it works fine for inflating as well. It won't save you money if you have no other purpose for it though.
Short update. I went for this cheap pump that cost around 25€. It’s true it does only the volume work as it reach only 3-4 psi. But I save all the useless work to pump the SUP when it is completely empty. Once the cheap battery pump can’t go ahead I switch to the manual one to do the pressure work. I save time and effort therefore I am happy with that.

I consider myself a fairly strong woman and I also found it a NIGHTMARE to pump my iSUP.
I eventually caved and ordered this portable pump and it’s made the process SO MUCH EASIER: https://www.amazon.com/SereneLife-Electric-SUP-Pump-Compressor/dp/B07V9WCBN7/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?crid=VJMO7FRA7CCQ&keywords=portable+pump+isup&qid=1659494948&sprefix=portable+pump+isup%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-9

i use this when im paddling as the water reflected sun is stronger than most people think, and I normally don't burn.
I've always found glacier/mountaineering glasses to be an excellent choice when out for a paddle. I had a pair of these for nearly 10 years, and they took a lot of punishment before I finally managed to break them. I replaced with exactly the same model.

Hello everyone,
See all my details below. In short, I'm looking to not spend too much money, I'm not very worried about performance and don't plan to use a SUP all that much. I would like to have one on hand when I go to the lake with my dogs, or when my husband goes fishing and I don't feel like just waiting on him for two hours! I really wanted to find a used one, but it's been a lot of very cheap looking Walmart/Online brands with bad reviews of leaks.
Desired Board Type: Inflatable
Your Height and Weight: 5'5" (165cm) 120lbs (54kg). Husband is 6'2" and could be a secondary user. I plan on taking at least one of my dog who is 40 lbs.
Desired use/uses: Honestly, mostly playing at the lake, taking the dogs out and paddling around. I have been known to do some SUP yoga!
Experience level: Beginner.
Your budget: I'd like to stay under $400, but if I can find something good enough for less, that would be great. My thinking is I can always resale and upgrade later if I fall in love with it, but if I get it out twice a year it may not be worth it. I'm in the US
I've used some hard boards for SUP yoga and wasn't a fan, very heavy for me to carry. A friend of mine has an iRocker (unsure which one) which seemed nice.
I'm currently looking at the iRocker Cruiser which is on sale for $400. But I was wondering if this one from SereneLife on Amazon could be good enough? Finally, I tend to see the BodyGlove Raptor+ on used marketplaces in my area, so this is another one I'm considering.
Thank you!
It's 155€ (with shipping) from Amazon, and $170 (without shipping) from Outdoormasters. And 1EUR=1USD right now.
Anyways, we're not getting a 3rd board right away, two were already expensive enough. 😅 The next board is probably going to be purchased next year, so I can't give any feedback until then.
Therefore we're also on the wall about the pump for now. We can handle the two boards manually so we could wait until it goes on sale. Or we could get it now and spare us some elbow grease. Dunno.
SUP Pump, Chefic 110W/ 12V SUP... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08QFGWMDB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I’ve got this model, 10’8x33 in less than 8 min, you could just get 2 pump and inflate twice at same time and it goes up to 20psi
So I have been using Treblab X3 Pro. They are over the ear, so will tend to stay on. If I am worried at all about losing them, I put one of those floatie tie things you can use for sunglasses - they fit onto over the ear tips.
I find pumps with a battery to be much more useful. I have this one and it is great.

I got these waterproof tag holders on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077PR7W72/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have my permit folded in there, and then attach it to a d-ring & secure it under my bungie. I just fold up my SUP with this connected so I never forget them.
I just bought a "used blackfin XL" from there a couple weeks ago. It actually wasn't used at all just open box, but maybe I got lucky. So far, I'm very happy with it. I'm not much of a fisherman, but I like having the option in the future with the fishing rack mounts.
When I was buying, I did consider getting something from amazon, but I was worried about ending up with some off-brand that would have quality issues. I did a lot of research and the two that I narrowed it down to before I found the used blackfin deal were the Atoll 11'and Nixy Manhattan. The Nixy is more of a touring board, and probably wouldn't be stable enough for fishing as a beginner. The Atoll could be right for you if you do insist on getting one off amazon.
Perfect my wife has two 10’ yoga sips and my 8’6” all strap on top with two sets of cinch straps. I recommend 20’ just in case you end up double stacking down the road.

>You can use a little anchor or even a light dumbbell if there isn't much current. Give yourself just a bit more line than the deepest water you expect.
If you wrap your leash around your paddle you'll have a decent anti-drift anchor. Or buy a real anchor like this https://www.amazon.com/CANYON-Fishing-Sea-Anchors-Sizes/dp/B017RPMISC
That thing isn't going to be able to carry the amperage required to use an electric pump.
12V is only part of the power equation, you need amperage also to be able to determine wattage. Wattage and horsepower are basically different ways to measure the same thing, if you didn't already know.
Your electric pump requires a lot of power. My Shark is 110 watts. That cable is rated for 8 watts. That cable will basically be a fuse that keeps on giving and all the magic blue smoke will come out of it. (Fire, I mean Fire.)
Your better bet, if you absolutely must use a portable device, would be to get a pump specifically designed for that which is made already. If you can't afford that, your other option isn't going to be much cheaper and comes with a lot more risk of fire, explosion, and just plain not working well.
Your cheapest option would probably be to inflate it at your vehicle and then use a cart to carry it down. You can get a yard cart for half the price of a battery powered pump. You may have something with wheels at your house. Judicious strapping will allow you to use nearly anything as a cart.
For free, you can hand pump it on site but I'm guessing if your iSUP is too heavy to carry then it's quite physically demanding to manually pump also. They're not normally known for being hard to carry, so that's a bit surprising. May be annoying to carry something that long, but I wouldn't think too heavy, they're generally 20-25 lbs, right?
My dad bought this one, it’s not too bad either. I like mine better but this one has been decent too. We’ll see how it holds up for season 2

Tons of Amazon reviews, but keep your expectations very low. Foamies are durable and a compromise from more expensive fiberglass or carbon boards, and their performance is compromised as a result.

I have the option to buy this one (the Naturical) for $250 on Amazon as well: https://www.amazon.com/iROCKER-Nautical-Inflatable-Paddle-Board/dp/B08MV9FXWN
Would you recommend that one? If so, is 10'6 or 11'6 better for a beginner?
so there's a bag on amazon that either copied the redpaddle design, or maybe redpaddles exclusivity on whoever actually makes it is over. Anyway, it's like $65 on amazon. I think it's a great idea, but the bag is a bit too big IMO. I ordered one years ago and returned it because it just takes up too much room for me. It is a really good design though and seemed like pretty good quality. Clearly RED charges way too much for it.
I’ve only used it to pump up these boards but it seems pretty simple and straightforward. It’s a sea gods branded version of this pump you can get on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/SereneLife-Electric-SUP-Pump-Compressor/dp/B07V9WCBN7 We will see how it does out in the wild.
I got this off amazon for $27, It will hold one person, or two smaller adults in place with the wind that was out there this weekend. with 2/3 grown adults we were dragging but it slowed us down about 50yds an hour.
I have a thomas compressor it uses Wob-L technology which they patented. and ive noticed it is significantly quieter than any compressor i have ever used, i would say it is similar to an idling weed wacker while others are like a lawnmower. i can have a conversation around it and not get annoyed. meanwhile other cheap ones like from harbor freight are extremely annoying and i sometimes feel like im pissing off my neighbors. probably won't work for you since it needs a lot of power to run.
another option is getting a much longer hose for your pump and throwing it in the car while you pump it, should make a big difference. you can also decrease noise by pumping up both boards at the same time.

Here's the paddle I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CYYW334/
I want to stress that while I'm an enthusiast paddler, I don't have tons of different paddles in that price range available to compare, so I can't say that's the best <$100 option. It's ~30 oz, so it's not super lightweight like a nicer paddle. It's also got a pretty heavy plastic blade, so the balance won't be as good as nicer paddles, but it was way better for me than the intro paddle that came with the bluefin.
I also have ~$200 auqabound paddle that's about 10oz lighter and you can really tell, so depending on your budget, you might want to spend more to get a nicer one. And then the lava project and other pure carbon paddles are even better at ~$300 or so ..

There ya go! I've not had the chance to use it yet, as it's still a wee bit too chilly where I'm at, but it looks solid.
Pretty dorky, but I've been wearing a pair of these for 4 or 5 years now. I put 'em on in the parking lot and they protect my feet a little bit on land, and, more importantly, protect the tops of my feet from getting sunburned. I like that they are really thin and don't affect my board feel at all.

I did! I don’t remember the exact one and I no longer have that Amazon account, but here is one from the same store/producer! They should have something for you!
The weather is finally warming up where I live, so I plan on getting the board out tomorrow. Woot!
If your board has D-Rings, then the support system of that strap isn't necessary. The paddle holders on the one you linked are nice but still not needed IMO. I'd opt for something like this (note the third picture).
Can’t vouch for this product (I don’t own it nor have ever used it) — I have seen similar things used. The narrow width of this one looks convenient, but I’d probably opt for one where the board is parallel to the ground to avoid fighting with the wind. If you can stretch your budget a little bit more, Aquaplanet do a board for £289/£279 direct from them. They seem to get decent reviews and they're an established brand. A friend has a Hurley board which seems to be an Aquaplanet board with different colours (and a higher price) and it's been good so far.
My paddleboards are packed away for the Alaska winter, but I bought a Coleman party stacker cooler (I didn't want a tall cooler) and found a foam pet bed that fit perfectly in the recessed lid. I added on some tie-down points to anchor the cooler, and will be adding velcro to the bottom of the pet ped/lid of the cooler this summer. It is just enough height to take pressure off my knees/hips and the pet bed is comfy, plus I have somewhere to keep drinks and food cool. I also pack a collapsable kayak paddle with me and switch to that when I'm sitting. Link to the cooler: https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-24-Can-Stacker-Portable-Cooler/dp/B002BMCLMU?th=1
NSI (North Shore Inc). On Amazon it's this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Rail-Guards-Width-Touring-Boards/dp/B0788B57NG
Or you can use what they call 'hellicopter tape' and it's basically the same thing, but you really want the 3" width.
I also put a single layer of electrical tape over my entire paddle blade, which protects the blade and the top of your board from paddle dings. It has to be replaced when it gets damaged, but very cheap & easy to apply.
I've found this thing great! Helps keep blisters off my hands but most importantly in summer when I lay my paddle down for a while it's not hot when I pick it back up

I found these guys on Amazon and they’re pretty sick little gadget. They suction your drink to your board. They work much better than expected
