So that's my super basic presentation. Like very minimal explanation.
But we will be providing a box of essential supplies that make the home health nursing lifestyle way easier. These were all items we needed and we found many other parents in our situation used but didn't know they needed them until later.
My shower is next Sunday (!!!) and I ordered this dress off Amazon (Pinkblush didn't have the purple in stock) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M29XA3S/ref but now it's saying that, even though it shipped, the dress might not be here til the following Monday! What have you done with my dress, Amazon? I also got a silver belt to go with it, so I don't look like I'm wearing a tent. Fingers crossed that it arrives on time, that the color looks good on me, and that the fit is nice.
Since we're doing the baby sex reveal at the shower, my mom pointed out that "all these strangers" (meaning MIL's friends) will be finding out before my father. It's not a big deal to me, but I'd like a video of the reveal as well, so I don't just want to stream it into the ether. Does anyone know of an app or something where we can record and stream at the same time?
Hopefully you can open this!

But we will be providing boxes of items we found essential to the home health nursing lifestyle. These items make life at home easier!
The spectra is awesome for travel, however that is the one that needs adapter pieces to use the Medela parts. The bottle the spectra is set to pump into is a wide mouth. The Avent, and Dr Browns bottles will fit straight onto the Medela as it uses standard mouth sizes.
The pumping cones for the medela are the ones that fit most handsfree bra's, and quite frankly most common items will fit the medela. However you can order adapter kits off Amazon for the Spectra to use the Medela phlanges easily.
Flanges should be the size of your areola, and this is something they can help go over with you in the hospital.
I am using The Frremie collection cups with the Spectra. I love them as they go under my clothes, and really easy to clean.
If you want I can take photos of the different set ups that I use if you think that would help.
Haha! We love the outdoors so we really wanted to give it a shot and luckily she’s a pretty easygoing baby.
Here’s a link to the bonnet on amazon!

That's a good idea! I think one thing that people don't think about initially is skincare. There's some stuff that's probably in your normal skincare routine that's a no-no in pregnancy. Off the top of my head: retinols/retinoids and (certain levels of) salicylic acid. Everyone's doctor is going to be different in their advice, but those are two big ones that are fairly common in skincare products that are usually under the "avoid this shit" column.
As far as foods go, I was in the camp of "everything in moderation" and "just be sensible." I highly recommend Expecting Better by Emily Oster. She goes over a lot of the big "rules" and the science behind them. I did not avoid foods while I was pregnant. I just made sure I wasn't eating food from places with questionable sanitation and food prep.
And for meds, ask your OB if they have a list of what meds are acceptable. Try to avoid pain meds, but if you take them, take Tylenol (paracetamol/acetaminophen), and don't take a lot. For constipation, certain types of magnesium are good or colace (your future BFF).
I have recently fallen deeply in love with Baby Joggers City Select. It’s really sturdy, has a lot of configurations, and you can add a second seat. Amazon typically has good discounts and Buy Buy Baby will price match.
I was able to get the Lux model on a steeeeep discount just by stalking the amazon price, but some of the colors also are always discounted ($629 reg, $440 discount).
I got kits from Amazon. I'm working on the snowman with teddy now, have the snowman and friends and then two of the penguins ones. I've never done needlepoint before, but I'm liking them so far! I will say the one I'm working on now uses embroidery floss while the other ones seems to use yarn/wool. I didn't think to look for that and am hoping they don't look wildly different!
Get you some cord wraps ❤❤ there like 8 bucks on Amazon. I'll link them

The oxygen monitor took some getting used to. I thought it wouldnt be an issue coming from the NICU but it was a different sound... plus you're all alone. Dont fret about mishaps, they happen ❤❤
Look at her go with the bottles!!! That is AWESOME!!!
TIL that Amazon has a book box for kids. For $22.99/box, you get 4 board books or 2 hard cover books based on age (baby-2, ages 3-5, ages 6-8, ages 9-12). You can preview the box and tailor it, or let it be a surprise.
Yes!! I remember getting the huge boxes as well! Maybe Amazon is the answer!. How does the price compare?! ..maybe I can add them to my registry to go towards the diaper discount thing :))
I dont have any help but I can share our monitor!! We love it. Often lily stays asleep for a while after her nurse leaves and it's good enough that we can even see seizures on it!
Video Baby Monitor With Camera [2018 Upgraded] Night Vision, Two-way Talk Audio, Temperature Sensor, ECO Mode, 2.4" Color Screen, Long Transmission Range https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077DFTHKQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Nc4pBbZHQ7ATD
This is the one we have - it's a little pricey, but we've been really happy with it. And that's exactly why we like having the video - S is pretty good about putting himself back to sleep if he fusses at night (except for his one food wake-up), and being able to see whether he's actually awake or not keeps us from accidentally waking him up when he might otherwise put himself back to sleep (and keeps us from having to get out of bed if he doesn't actually need us haha). This monitor has good enough detail in its night vision mode that we can tell if his eyes are open (assuming he's facing the camera).
We had to move C from his little sidecar bed into a travel cot (pack and play type thing) in order to keep him in our bedroom (the cot/crib in the nursery was too big to move over) somewhere around 2-3 months because he would flail his arms and keep hitting the bars. This was a good intermediate step before we moved him into his own room.
Has she already hit the dreaded four month sleep regression, or could this be it? As in, when babies start developing sleep cycles and they cry out as they wake after every cycle... The deal is then teaching her how to self-settle (which is connected to that whole putting-them-down-drowsy-but-awake business that's so damn hard).
Our situation now has me sleeping in the spare room so that hubs can close the door to the master bedroom and get some real shuteye (he's working, I'm not, technically I can nap during the day when baby does, not that that ever happens...). With the spare room and nursery doors open I can hear C cry out from across our tiny landing, loud enough to wake me. Then, we have a cheapo Chinese video monitor that I have muted, so I can watch him and decide if I need to get out of bed and go over, or if he's just having a whinge and looks like he's going to settle back down.

That's the monitor we have. It's more than I would personally spend and it's kind of overkill for the size of our apartment...but it was a gift and we're certainly happy with it.
We had several NB clothes given to us (either hand-me-downs or shower gifts) and didn't really use them. Audrey was in NB sizes for quite a while, but we didn't "get dressed" every day. She would just be in her sleepers until the next evening, or until she got them wet or something. I started rotating her through the NB clothes as she was growing out of the size, just so I could say she wore them! I got these dividers for the closet and they have been helpful so I don't have to keep checking clothing sizes when we dress her!
It's very frustrating that sizes are different, for sure. We have a couple of Old Navy sleepers that are 0-3m but are HUGE on her, even though other brands in the same size, or just 3m, fit her perfectly.
Alsooooo that foot monkey is adorable and I’m kinda jealous. I genuinely can’t wait to put bad art on the fridge! lol
Um no. I think this weekend I am going to bust out the outlet covers, and see if they are already selling the foam noodles to stuff under the TV thing to hide the cords. As far as cabinets go I am going to order the magnetic cabinet locks today.
I swear the next few years is going to be keeping small drunk midgets with a death wish alive.
I did find these awesome outlet covers that have a light in them.
Thank you! Got it on Amazon for cheapies. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072VZSM31/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I just wish they had bigger sizes, I'm wearing an XL and it's definitely a struggle to get into these days.
Check out the Hofish bras, I'm not sure what size you are, but underwires started to really bother me when I got to your stage in my pregnancy. And then I got the Hofish bras from Amazon and my life became so much better. Plus they were reasonably priced and are also nursing bras! If you aren't crazy massive like me, your boobs will still look amazing in them! My breasts are very large so they aren't spectacular butttttt I don't have uniboob and I'm not too saggy in them!

I'm a 34H (UK) and the XL fit very well.

Yes!!! I have a reall struggle with snot so I wanted this.
I was looking at these but currently pumping both sides so this isn't a issue.
These! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C1HWSJU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They basically increase the bandsize by half-to-a-full size, and give you a bit more breathing room. I think i'm going to get away without needing to buy more bras before deliver!
Amazon and I are having a good time right now with dresses.
It's also really fun to wear with my bump looking really round and out there.
