i found this metal cage on amazon for $15 that could be used for future projects! i hope you post your finished project for us to see! i love taxidermy and hope to do bigger projects like this one day, but for now i can live vicariously through you and other people brave enough to execute these projects(:
I do not think it is in the cards.
However, if you are open to a similar look, search up some DIY snowglobes, like this one
Robert Marbury literally wrote the book on rogue taxidermy. He profiles several artists in this book.
These two talented women who are lovely humans in their own right wrote a book as well, and it contains step by step instructions for skinning and mounting an animal.

Stuff works wonders. It a 2 part putty. Secure the leg on the best you can with some super glue, preferably smiths with the spray that speeds up adhesion. And then mold on whatever is missing. Then you just need to paint it
Hey thanks! I’m actually still a beginner too, I’m always changing and trying new methods to make it easier and look better
As of right now, I’m using any lightweight paper/foam clay as stuffing. My favorite clay brand so far is this: foam clay
Though you need to work quickly as the borax tends to dry the clay faster!
For the ears, I just coat them with borax and use my fingers to shape them. Hold them in place for 1–2 minutes and the ears should be dry enough to stay in place while it’s drying.
And I actually don’t stitch them! I bring the skin together as much as possible and coat them in borax. There’s still clay visible underneath, that’s why try to hide the belly from view!
Maybe the comments and questions on Amazon can provide some info

Thank you so much😩 I switched carcass casting poses and last minute poured it in a cardboard box. It's 2 part marine foam in 2lbs density so it works ok to freestyle carve from. All this to warn you it was a mess but maybe way cheeper than buying it in premade blocks. Name tag clips What about something like this? Have them every few inches along the hide, all strung on a rod like a shower curtain.
I found a link on amazon to buy lab grade ethyl alcohol here- https://www.amazon.com/Laboratory-Grade-Denatured-Ethyl-Alcohol-500mL/dp/B0754NR5B8/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=ethyl+alcohol&qid=1603252876&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFNVDdDWVBJV1BETVcmZW5jcnlw... I would inject him with it with a very small syringe, and then place him in the jar with 70% isopropyl alcohol.

You're probably thinking of Formaldehyde.
I recently purchased one of these as a display for my new Vervet skull and I think it looks quite handsome: Glass Dome 8x8
