The problem with gift shops is that they often sell generic, unbranded toys which will be impossible to track down without any details from the label/tag :(

Wash your bears in something like this. You run them in the dryer in these bags too. We have lots of bears and have two of these.

I know I'm 2 months late but here's a review on one I bought for myself sometime last year.

I find it to be very soft and huggable. The limbs and torso are long and fairly skinny but that makes them flexible and easy to manipulate. The head shape is very... helpful for cuddling? I'm not sure how else to put that but it's well rounded and though it's able to hold it's shape it's soft to hold. The fur is very smooth and gentle to touch.

It's just over a foot tall so it's a bit on the smaller size but I'm only 5'1 myself so it works for me.
As for quality there were a few white bit's of thread sticking out here and there, I just carefully cut them with scissors and haven't had any problems sense even after washing it twice so far. There is some white thread left on it's nose I can't get to but I think it adds character. Oh I guess it's important to note that I got the darker one which made the white thread more noticeable.
