No WAYWT picture for me today.
But I wanted to let you guys know that Costco has some jeans for sale that fit great and work well with boots.
I usually wear a 32x32 and I was stoked to find 32x34 available so they could look great with some cuffs over boots.
Urban star Men's Relaxed These do not fit like most "relaxed" jeans. They have stretch in them but very much fit well.
DKNY jeans Terrible fit pictures on costco's website, again very fitting jeans was able to grab a pair of 32x34's from my local costco.
I have been reading "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig.
It has a lot less motorcycle stuff than I was hoping for but it has been a fantastic philosophical fiction book. So much of it can be applied to my everyday life and I am only about halfway through it.
Bicycled a crazy climb yesterday. Got passed by a fair number of motorcyclists - from what I understand, it's one of the prime windy hilly roads around. Link to the GPS log
this is really good thought. hope somebody chimes in.. you can often find out of print books on amazon in case you haven't checked.
actually, strangely it was sort of hidden, try this link.. many second hand AND NEW copies available:
I am trying to remember the name of a book, and I think my best chance of finding it here. It is like a companion book to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Basically, the author goes on the same ride Pirsig did, using ZAMM as a kind of guidebook, and then expands on ideas Pirsig presents. I can't remember much else of it.
Also, I'd be interested to hear anyone else's reactions to ZAMM.
I've been looking to pick up a few motorcycle-based books lately. So far I've come up with Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Hell's Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga. Are there any other books you guys would recommend?
"Stranger in a Strange Land" was huge for me.
"The Art of War" is one that everyone says to read and with an understanding of how things apply today it's true.
"The Grapes of Wrath" really affected me the first time.
"1984" and "Animal Farm" were depressingly good at training me for the real world.
So many more are great but for what you're asking I think these are the I best I have finished.
I'm a web developer and honestly, if we're just going to sell a couple t-shirts, a page on Etsy or BigCartel would be more than enough.
There's a lot of over-head involved with online stores, and building a whole self-hosted app would be overkill. At least for now.
Does anyone have experience with a compact electric foil shaver a la Braun M90? I generally shave with soap/brush/DE but there are some mornings where I either don't have time or simply don't feel like having a full shave. Having something that's quick and easy for touch ups on those days would be great.
Very nice! I bit the bullet on a pair of Caterpillar Abe TX (Peanut) boots about 6 months ago and they have been my daily wear since. I had to sew a patch of leather onto the inner canvas of each boot as it was fraying from gear changes and shifting on the bike but otherwise solid boots for the $150 (AUD) I paid.
Hey! I have these and like them quite a bit. Don't know what the difference is - looks like yours has the steel shank?
I wore mine every day for 3 months in snow/ice in Antarctica. with heavy-weight wool socks I could spend 20-30 minutes out in -30˚F and be fine. Here in California, I can easily wear these with thinner socks in the 70˚F 's and low 80s. Definitely not a slim toe box like a CDB but don't have a red wing boot to compare it to.
Some people have issues with the leather quality but mine seem great. Look them up on /r/goodyearwelt and remember that the LL Bean Kathadin boots are very similar too (so look those up for reviews).
Just got a Shark Navigator Professional vacuum, and I swear I sucked up a dead person after only a week of living in my new apartment.
Hey, you gotta take care of your pad, folks!
Edit: by the way, I upgraded from a Dyson that cost 2.5x as much.
