PIA has never reduced my speed and I do quite a bit of torrenting. I haven't had any problems connecting anywhere, but to be fair I haven't tried many places like Netflix, etc.
When I was deciding, PIA and AirVPN were my final two choices. I really only picked PIA because they made it easy to pay with gift card.
Hello there.
I just created this bash script to help me ping all NordVPN servers in a batch.
It takes 30 minutes to finish, more or less, because it pings each 3 times and give back the average.
You get a list of IPs and times. You can copy and past that list to a spreadsheet or use the sort
command and see what you get.
I hope it helps more users as it helped me.
Tx.

After 3 weeks of following all their support recommendations, when I test my PureVPN connection with , my local ISP's servers are revealed in about 10% of the tests, even though I am using a gateway on the other side of the planet. When I requested a refund, PureVPN actually told me to ignore independent tests, because they were inaccurate. I should take only their word when they tell me I am shielded. Incredible. Insane. All that matters is that someone was able to determine my ISP's DNS servers while I was using PureVPN. That is the very definition of a DNS leak.
Yes the leak has been fixed. The direct quote from NordVpn is as follows; "In a nutshell, if a NordVPN customer were to have an IPv6 IP address, their IPv6 interface would be blocked and only IPv4 traffic would be rerouted and encrypted with NordVPN, which ensures that your real IP address never leaks."
I use Private Internet Access for a month now and I get max speeds on torrents through it, give or take a few 100 KB/s sometimes. It was pretty easy to install and configure, even on Ubuntu Linux. I'd highly recommend it. I haven't tried AirVPN but that was my other choice before I settled. I only got PIA because I could pay anonymously through a gift card.
He deleted the comment, do you recall what he said? But I wouldn't put too much stock in it. I've likewise been doing a lot of research and came down to AirVPN, PIA and NordVPN, with AirVPN being my most likely choice. There are enough real reports of people using it without issue that at the very least I think it's a solid option. I plan on getting it in the near future.
If you have any suggestions or advice after setting it up, feel free to share. :)
with PIA i find my firewall off every time i used it,
netshade messed my system up,
HMA messed my system up,
with BlackVPN i had drop outs,
with Privatoria they just took my money and still till today i dont hear anything from them.
do you know anything better for mac users?
i made this list from another thread:
BlackVPN Hong Kong
BolehVPN Seychelles
CactusVPS Moldova
EarthVPN Northern Cypress
TrustZone Seychelles
Sweden
IVPN ? Gibraltar
VPNSecure Australia
Mullvad Sweden
AzireVPN Sweden
British Indian Ocean
A few good ones I found and had for Android TV
Windscribe - dirt cheap if you just pick Netflix and unlimited £2 per month Got all USA apps working apart from DANZ
Express - quickest but expensive £11 per month Got all USA apps working and DANZ Canada Even got AppleTV4K working but limited app support on this device (only got SlingTV to work)
Goose VPN - cheap but limited success with other apps . Sling , Hulu , HBO, FuboTV etc Netflix worked fine
I’ve settled for PrivateVPN as it’s £6 per month Got all USA apps working and DANZ Canada
I was looking at this and all ready to sign up, then I saw that their US server speeds average is listed at 5%, compared to say AirVPN at 98%.
I love just about everything about them, but I'm not willing to deal with a super slow service. You say you've had disconnects? Do you use it for anything other than streaming or gaming? Services like PIA can stay up for days at a time. I'd love to switch to NordVPN, but those are some abysmal speeds (if accurate).

I’ve been using ExpressVPN for multiple years now! It’s amazing and affordable. They offer a whole bunch of clients for a lot of devices.
The only thing that I don’t fully like is that sometimes the Dutch locations don’t seem to respond. I don’t know his this is for the other countries but for me this sometimes is annoying.
I'll just add my few thoughts to it. Though I have no other experience with paid vpns then the one I ultimately decided upon. Keep in mind that this is really a paranoid checklist well beyond my needs and thus I'm somewhat inconsequential in my opsec [for example signed up with an easy and identifiable email address]. But besides technical aspects I think they are worth considering when choosing a VPN.
Payment so i specifically wanted a provider that does accept some form of not identifying payment be it in form of gift cards or bitcoin. I prefer bitcoin. Though this requirement really narrowed down the options by at least a half.
Jurisdiction so you probably want to avoid the company to be HQ'rd in either the US or Europe depending on you're needs (from China/Russia though you might want exactly that). I'd say avoid to be in the same jurisdiction (to easy for local authorities), in my view it shouldn't be UK or US either since in common law data seems to be neither a private good nor part of your personal sphere and even if it were their judges bang out Gag orders like no other. If I remember right that just left me with 2 providers or so...
So yeah I got down to NordVPN. They take bitcoin. User data they require is really just an email (no openID connect etc.) and are sitting in panama, which I preferred to the other possibility that was Russian if I remember right. They provide descent instructions though I'd prefer are 10 pager api spec. Their apps are quite descent though I doubt that their outsourced zendesk support or marketing stuff really had to be bundled into them. Downside is no ipv6 support only the loopback hell hole.
Currently using ProtonVPN.
+ProtonVPN is fast/reliable. Haven't encountred any problems.
+Netflix works fine.
+Privacy laws in switzerland(have gotten a bit worse recently :( )
-The Price
-There is a lack of apps for the phone currently.
Your point here is to ask suggestions for a better VPN right? If that's the case then I would recommend you a vpn provider like FrootVPN. You can enjoy playing your games because they have unlimited bandwidth for their Vpn users.
I must say I have used a few VPN's from ipvanish to pia and torguard ..Torguard is my current one and I love it nice speeds and amazing for dowloading
Having said that have never had a dnsleak I wonder something in the settings you can tweak ?
