Playlists are your friend. Try setting up a bunch of videos in a playlist and choose "play all". Once done, you can simply delete the list a create another one. I know it's not ideal, bur it works for me - I rather enjoy setting up the playlists to suit my mood.

Try updating to the latest development build, it's 2.3.006, and see if you still have any problems. If not, then I'll try to push that out as official sooner than later.
If you still get a crash, you can get it from a telnet console:
The crash log will be there if you connect immediately following a crash, as long as the Roku doesn't reboot. (you can PM me the log)
Plex uses its own channel, and as far as I know, the only server is available here: https://plex.tv/.
I would say that VideoBuzz and Plex vary in their main design goals -- in that VideoBuzz is meant to be mainly standalone. Whereas Plex uses a server to feed content.
