I remeber locals taking one class a semster as "continuing education" in order to be able to particpate in WVU activities, events, and resources. There are some WVU Band members in their 60s and 70s and all they do is register and take a class in order to continue to particpate year after year. Other resources are using meetup.com, your local YMCA, or joining some of the local Morgantown groups clubs that are not necessarily associated with the school.
They make AC units that rest on the floor and you run a vent tube/intake it the window. Linked below:
Not sure if the dorm would allow this, but you could ask. I don't see why they would not, it's not like anything is hanging out the window
strange. It keeps saying available for me.
This is a private room in an apt. Not sure how many are in your party. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15560942?checkin=11%2F04%2F2016&checkout=11%2F06%2F2016&s=JxOHzfsG
that says instant book for me.
Welcome to Morgantown, where tenant rights don't matter! This is virtually every place in the city.
Help her install a lock like this
That's what I've used and it has saved me from violation of my privacy multiple times.
You may have already tried this, but you could use a different DNS...Google has one. Also, use an ethernet connection if you can; I always had issues with the wifi.
Its the same lock I use. Basically you latch it when your home and its only accessible from the inside, its a really really good security lock and Ill always install one while I live in an apartment when my key is shared.
It does require screws into the jamb of the door, and I guess that could come with the risk of it violating the lease, but for me personally its worth violating some shitty lease that is already breaking state law.
If you dont want to go the route of physical installation, get this this cheap security bar or the more expensive better built variant. they go under the door knob when youre home.
I use a electric teapot tbh. It boils water in about 3 minutes, and it is allowed to be in the dorms. https://www.amazon.com/Cuisine-EHP-001-Maxi-Matic-32-Ounce-Electric/dp/B002DUCC8S/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1528256004&sr=1-13&refinements=p_36%3A1253523011&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65
