So, this is actually interesting - there is a pretty good theory that the idea of werewolves and vampires both came about because people in the 1300s or so didn't have words for the concept of a serial killer. They saw that people in their villages were being murdered and torn apart, but their social context for it was build around religion and folk stories, so they explained it in supernatural terms rather than psychological ones.

Both started with killers murdering their victims in ways that were so horrible and violent that no human could do it. All of the other stuff - the bats, or the full moon, or even silver - came about later as the mythologies of the creatures took shape over the centuries.

The book Sons of Cain: a History of Serial Killers from the Stone Age to the Present talks about it a bit.

Whoa! This is a huge compliment actually because this is my first time using fangs and it was the hardest part LOL! They were from this amazon listing, I used the 1.3 size but they come in a pack with 1.5 and 1.9! I googled how people make fangs stick and I ended up using a very small amount of fixodent. I found out you could also use something called "friendly plastic" for a better mold. Hope that helps!!

We have a bunch of these remote control LED bulbs from amazon. They're relatively cheap, and we've had them for over a year now without any burning out, and they let you do all kinds of cool lighting setups. Our home lighting changes colors with the seasons now!

The hair is this that you can find on Amazon. I did have to do a lot of cutting for the bangs and styling for the buns but it was totally worth it.
