There are Wonder Woman books in the I Can Read series, which are aimed at beginning readers. They come in both classic Wonder Woman and movie tie-in flavors.

There are also some WW coloring books that might go over well.
Perfect starting point right here. Also tells a VERY complete story which happens to be, as far as I'm concerned, the most consistently great comics DC has ever published.
Seconded. If you want Wonder Woman's origin, start with Wonder Woman #1 (cover dated Feb 1987) https://www.dcuniverseinfinite.com/comics/book/wonder-woman-1986-1/825586ea-8cf5-4adb-a9ef-9047ac7407cf/

The first 14 issues of the George Perez's run are far and away the best Wonder Woman comics since the Golden Age IMO:
Wonder Woman by George Perez, vol 1

Gail Simone's The Circle — 4 issues from 2008
Brian Azzarello's Blood — 6 issues from 2011
The Legend of Wonder Woman by Renae De Liz.
I got it from a site (it's out of stock) that said it was over $1000, but I got it on sale for about $84. You can find it on eBay and Amazon.
Not counting the "Diana Prince" collections where she was de-powered the whole time (and not really recognizably Wonder Woman), the only trade collecting WW comics from that era (I believe) is "The Twelve Labors".
But if you're just starting, you really want to do yourself a favor and read the Perez run. It starts here.
Sorry I should have been a little more clear. Rucka has a DC Rebirth run that starts with an origin story. His run eventually leads to Wilson's run but there may be another writer in between. (I can't remember off the top of my head). Rucka had also done another WW run back in the early 2000s that was good but set during that time. The volume you found was from that original run. What you want is Wonder Woman Vol. 1: The Lies (Rebirth) https://www.amazon.com/dp/1401267785/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_SRCG3JD3HVXNNZD1TQQG There is also volume 2 that was by him, written at the same time (alternate stories for alternate issues) that would be worth checking out too. Just look for the books by him they say Rebirth at the top
Part of Rucka's or Wilson's is another origin story?
& do you mean this one with Rucka?

I love her artwork, as well as Jenny Frison's. Does anyone know who does the artwork of the Justice League 2022 calendar? I've been trying to figure out who this artist is. 2022 DC Comics The Justice League (Classic) Wall Calendar with Reminder Stickers https://www.amazon.com/dp/1438883951/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_DTP0TQ8S82HBTWTJW2PV

I don’t know if it’s ESSENTIAL, but it’s a great modern WW story IMO. It takes place in the modern world, but deals with Greek mythology, and moral questions
Other than the golden age stories, this is the only place the start. Best comics DC ever published.
Read this if you're interested in the real story:
Best comics DC every published right here IMO.

I recommend The Legend of Wonder Woman by Renae de Liz. They don't stay on Themyscira the whole time, but there's some good stuff there in there for the first several issues.
You'll also want to pick up Wonder Woman: The Complete Newspaper Comics to get the newspaper strips. These were done by Marston and Peters, the creators of the comic book, and are essentially an additional volume of golden age material. The art is black and white, but the inking is noticeably better than in the comic books. Apparently Peters gave the newspaper strips to his assistants to ink, and they were better inkers than he was.
Having been left high and dry when they stopped making the Wonder Woman Archives, I'm not about to jump on this bandwagon.
I will say, though, that if you like Golden Age Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman: The Complete Newspaper Strip 1943-1944 is a must-have. It reads exactly like the regular comics, and Harry Peters' art really looks great in it. It's in black and white, but the inking is far superior to that in the regular comics.
According to Amazon, Wonder Woman: The Golden Age, Volume 01 will be a paperback collection containing the following: ALL STAR COMICS #8, SENSATION COMICS #1-14 and WONDER WOMAN #1-3 and COMIC CAVALCADE #1
H.G. Peter has always been recognized for his work on Golden Age Wonder Woman, so I find this article odd.
Incidentally, if you want to see Peter's art at its best, check out Wonder Woman: The Complete Newspaper Comics, which is a collection of the Wonder Woman comic strip that ran in newspapers in the 1940s.
The art and storylines are done by the original team of Marston and Peter, so it's very much like another volume of Wonder Woman Archives, only in black and white. However, because of workload constraints, Peter turned the inking of the strips over to his assistants, and the result is that they are cleaner, crisper and better rendered than much of Peter's comic book work.
In general, no. They don't reprint hardcovers. However, the New 52 run is being collected in the Absolute format, which is the deluxe, oversized collector's hardcovers. I wouldn't suggest those for someone who hasn't read and loved the series, as they're quite expensive. But if you read the New 52 series (perhaps get it from your local library) and love it, there is a nice hardcover edition coming out next year.
Or, you can pick up a used copy of volume 01 on Amazon for as low as $9.
It's very possible this listing is incorrect. It wouldn't be the first time Amazon has had a listing for a second Perez omnibus that never came into fruition.
Originally, when the second George Perez Wonder Woman TPB was solicited, it was solicited as a second volume Perez omnibus. That ended up being a mistake, and quickly being changed to the second paperback. That was about a 6-8 months ago.
~~DC's trade catalog was released through May 2017, and a second Perez omnibus was no where in it.~~
All that said, there are some signs that point to this book finally being real. For one, there is solicitation text specifically mentioning that Perez's entire run is getting collected (the previous listing just had generic text about Perez himself). The fact that it's a separate listing from the second paperback is a good sign (though you should always take an Amazon listing with a grain of salt because it's incredibly easy to get a listing put up there with incorrect/misleading information). Here's hoping it actually happens!
EDIT: THE CATALOG WAS UPDATED AFTER IT WAS RELEASED and a second Perez omnibus is now listed in the catalog!! It wasn't originally in the Spring 2017 catalog!
However, I must advise patience. As I said, this isn't the first time a second Perez omnibus has been announced. Hopefully, with the movie so soon after, the book will actually come to fruition this time. We can hope!
Rucka has claimed that Rebirth is supposed to be New Reader Friendly. If you've never read an issue of Wonder Woman in your life, you should be able to pick up Rebirth and understand everything you need to understand. Rucka's good about that kind of thing.
But, as the other's have said, you can't go wrong with reading Rucka's original run on the book (The Hiketeia and v2 issue 195-226). His run is being re-collected, started in July. Volume 01 is set to collect The Hiketeia graphic novel, and issues 195-205 (the Amazon link claims issues 195-213; this is old information and is incorrect). It's definitely worth a read.
Anther book that goes to Marston's source material and that can be a great complement to The Secret History of Wonder Woman is Grant Morrison's upcoming Wonder Woman: Earth One. It is a long wait, but I would recommend that you keep track of it.
