One man atmospheric black metal with futuristic themes and retro darksynth influences. FFO: Burzum, Mesarthim
Decided to post again since I haven't received much feedback at all yet. Released my first demo in March. The project is mostly meant for experimenting and learning purposes, but I'd still like to hear what people think about it and improve based on that.
You can listen to it for example on:
Also thanks DaturaAD (email ) for the amazing album cover.
The channel that produces this show is called M6. They have also used music from Final Fantasy, Uncharted, Mass effect, Zelda, Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, Heavy rain and God of War, Halo in their shows. It seems that they also use a lot of songs without having the rights. But I cannot back this up.
Source (read using Google translate):
They also stole songs from Finding Nemo and Finding Neverland and Doctor Who.

>It starts with light drums and it uses a variety of instruments. There was also a woman singing.
Care to be a little more exact than that? :) Any snippets of lyrics you can recall?
But the most prominent world music band from Hungary that I could see getting airtime in France would be Besh o Drom. Their songs are generally quite upbeat as they are a folk(ish) brass band, but they do have a few slower ones.
Second guess would be Parno Graszt, who are a more traditional Gypsy band.

Deezer's search didn't find the first artist. Discographies may be incomplete unfortunately, Spotify as the market leader has more complete selection.
celtic music as we know today doesn't go back so far. The celtic harp and fiddle masters that composed most of the celtic music played today lived in the 17th and 18th century. And they show a knowledge of other contemporary styles of music (expecially italian baroque & classical violin technique).
So I doubt there is any ongoing music connection going as far aback as 2000 years.
Although, to be fair, in the cantigas de santa maria (written down in XIII century Galicia) there are some pieces inspired by british and celtic folklore. But this was a then shared topic. This one of my fav.
It is called Lone Rider (part 2) by Airesis.
EDIT TO ADD. Pretty hard to track down the full song, but it is quite dubsteppy when it isn't westerny. Here is a 30 second sample of it.Think it may be on spotify too, no sign of it on YouTube.
Quick answer: Too much monkey business. ;-)

For example I am scrobbling the Solti recording of Wagner's complete Ring des Nibelungen from Deezer at the moment, and the scrobbles use varying artists for each track (178 in total), mostly Wiener Philharmoniker and/or the singers, never Solti or Richard Wagner. Furthermore Last.fm does not know the resulting albums then, so I would have to edit each new scrobble and of course all former scrobbles from this release.
Hey. As a native, I've put together few french radio hits from the 80's to today to show to my international peers what pop rock in France is like.
It's definitely not exhaustive but that'll already give you a good 4 hour in our musical pop culture
By the way, it's on deezer, a french spotify !

No order:
Giriboy - Surprised he hasn't been mentioned much here. I really like the layers in his song and the amount of different sounds he can get to work together. Some producers get away with a bassline, drum pattern, and some chords but he puts so much work into his songs.
GroovyRoom - The next big thing in Korean music I reckon. They're already pretty big but I can see them going on to have huge influence on the Korean music scene. Very versatile, they can do all sorts of trap and even more poppy sounds (which gives them space to work with kpop artists too).
Cosmicboy - Part of those 우주비행 guys. Definitely a lot of Giriboy influences in his music and he hasn't done a lot just yet but he will get there. Lots of talent.
Soriheda - Don't think he does a lot these days, but if you haven't heard him I'd describe his music as 'chill lo-fi boom bap'. He released a third album but I can't find it anywhere so if you can hook me up that'd be great. I'm hearing he changed his name to Aepmah and got married. I think his day job is just as a normal producer in a studio and he doesn't get a lot of time to work on original music. His latest stuff seems super experimental. Listen to this, for example.
Primary - Can't leave out Primary because everything he touches is gold. I like that he uses live instruments a lot of the time rather than just synths. More poppy these days but has been a solid producer for years now.
That's a really good one as well, I'm just a big fan of Alex's humour in general. His podcast 'The Horne Section Podcast' is great as well if you haven't checked it out yet. They recently switched podcast provider so Season 1 is here and Season 2 is here.

I'm having a problem with the new SMload, and I wish to know if it is specific to me or a bug with the new build. 1) Mount Kimbie - Love What Survives(no youtube link , sorry), one of the best electronic music albums of the decade so far to me, released not even a year ago. incredibly moody and catchy at the same time. not really super underground or anything but still slept on imo.
2) Together Pangea - Badillac, just a really fun punk/alternative (?) album from 2014, not much more to say about that one.
That is some fine internet sleuthing.
Apparently they released an album in 2017 called <em>Venite a Laudare</em> (but you already knew that, didn't you?). I'm kind of worried about the "minstrel" part. I really love instrumental medieval music like this, but I find I'm not usually into the singing.
Edit: apparently that piece is called <em>Canzonetta Tedesca</em> and the singing on this album isn't so bad after all

Just to confirm, Deezer is openly available for £9.99 a month with a free 30 day trial https://www.deezer.com/en/offers but if you wanna pay by Apple, no trial, and ~£36 a year more, just for the pleasure of paying ‘in-app’. Rant over.

Guess we are thinking alike. Same situation here. I really find the cat two songs soothing. Any suggestion is appreciated.
Most importantly if you have any playlist that relates to cat two songs please share it with me.
Well... most of them just popped up on playlists that people from other countries make, deezer's country rankings, appear as related artists of these or foreigner Last.fm user's radios.
But if you're into heavy metal, grindcore and/or not mainstream electronic music, there's a lot of places where these are made.

The album is VERY good! It was really a surprise for me that past singles are not the strongest part of it! Just listen.

it's on deezer (at least for me, im in NZ, GMT+13), where i ripped it from, and i guess since he only announced it recently the album title or artwork hasn't been officially announced yet. i've already given it a listen, it's pretty good.
I wanted to listen but fuck youtube so I spent my lunch break making it into a Deezer Playlist if any other Deezer users want to have a listen
I don't use spotify anymore but I have one of these for deezer.
I tried to avoid anything from well known movies (though there are some glitch mob tracks that were in some things).
I play this when i'm working on a game at home, but I have mp3s on my laptop for actual play time, split into "scenes," since I don't want to have to rely on internet access.
I am using the portable version :-/
I don't understand how people have this working and a few of us in non US locations do not, even with a VPN it seems something different is happening when the deezer init function tries to post the login credentials to the action.php form...
it then throws an error and drops out to the second error message, for debug I modified the code slightly:
Deezer.prototype.init = function(username, password, callback) { var self = this; NRrequest.get({url: self.apiUrl, headers: self.httpHeaders, qs: Object.assign({method:"deezer.getUserData"}, self.apiQueries), json: true, jar: true}, (function(err, res, body) { if(!err && res.statusCode == 200) { self.apiQueries.api_token = body.results.checkForm; NRrequest.post({url: "https://www.deezer.com/", headers: this.httpHeaders, form: {type:'login',mail:username,password:password,checkFormLogin:body.results.checkFormLogin}, jar: true}, (function(err, res, body) { if(err || res.statusCode != 200) { callback(new Error("Unable to load deezer.com 1")); }else if(body.indexOf("success") > -1){ callback(null,null); }else{ callback(new Error("Incorrect email or password.")); } })); } else { callback(new Error("Unable to load deezer.com 2")); } }).bind(self)); }
It bombs out and then throws the "Unable to load Deezer 2" message
Does anyone have any ideas how I can observe what is happening?
Michael Rault. J'aime beaucoup la voix, c'est assez proche de celle du chanteur de Wand. C'est de la pop-rock-prog-psyche, ou un truc du genre (mais Wand est un peu plus énervé).

Do you mean the beta desktop app or maybe their usual web player? The former has an own support board on their community, and with the latter you could e.g. bookmark one of the new Flow tabs instead of their main home page which may not start the default pop hits playlist immediately:
I quite enjoy his podcast too. He's not the best of interviewers, but isn't terrible, and he comes out with some quite insightful and we'll articulated points.

Thank you for your feedback!
How would you like to discover new music? Exploring the library yourself? Getting "discoveries" recommended daily, weekly, monthly?
Instead of "copying" a feature from our competitors I would rather like to read about your thoughts.

Oh yeah, it was probably you. Thanks!
My experience was I had to pay for the subscription in order to eschew using a proxy. Apparently, since my new account was on the free plan, they detected my location. However, they ignored my location after making a paid subscription to Deezer Premium+.
The subscription page, <code>https://www.deezer.com/offers/</code>, redirects US visitors to the Deezer Elite page, so I turned my proxy back on and tried the page again. After entering my payment details, I was able to use Deezer without a proxy.
In short: if you want to use Deezer in the US, proxy-free, you must first use a proxy to sign up to Deezer and pay for the Premium+ subscription. Deezer is more strict about your location if you use the free plan, but doesn’t seem to care where you use the app if you’re a paying subscriber.

Have you guys ever heard the story of Friska Viljor? They're an indie folk rock band from Sweden, who found each other when they were all lovesick & broken, and poured all of their suffering (and a lot of alcohol) into an album (YT link, incomplete; Deezer link). Their melancholy transformed into euphoric indie folk, but the melancholy was retained.
Then they got pretty much instantly famous, toured all over Europe, and their subsequent music still had their style of scandinavian indie folk - but now that they're no longer the broken down lovesick drunks who met in each other's kitchen to channel their sorrow into music, but rather famous and globally touring drunks who like to make indie folk, they never managed to recapture that gravitas of the first songs.

I tried Deezer (I've been using Tidal for almost two years) and I was really disappointed in how you have to use specific devices in order to get HiFi streaming with Deezer. Tidal allows me to get MQA right on my Pixel 2XL. Deezer has you use one of their partner's systems to unlock FLAC quality.

One of my favourite Americana artists is named "Sam Baker" but on his artist page, there are a bunch of albums by a soul singer named "Sam Baker".
Very frustrating and I agree, feels like it should be a very easy fix.
One of the biggest problems with the main streaming companies is their payment system (pro-rata). In this system all subscription money (minus the service’s cut) is thrown into a pot and divided by the number of streams that hit a given duration (usually about 30 secs). This sounds fair until you realise that if you only listen to 1 song then most of your money goes to artists you don’t listen to and primarily to those who are already popular. So if you are someone with a non-mainstream musical taste you will be supporting stuff you don’t like.
The alternative is a user-centric system where your subscription money only goes to what you listen to. In other words if you only listen to one song in a month you will only be giving money to that one artist. This will hugely benefit smaller and niche artists along with helping long-form music be paid more fairly.
Deezer published info about this https://www.deezer.com/ucps also the Finnish Musicians Union did a comparative study about this a while ago. The summary of which is the top tier of artists would loose out but the middle and bottom would gain. So supporting those independent artists doing something different or self releasing without major backing. Here’s the paper https://www.fim-musicians.org/wp-content/uploads/prorata-vs-user-centric-models-study-2018.pdf
It’s something I’ve been talking and thinking about at length as well so I won’t say any more.
Suffice to say with the main streaming companies your money doesn’t only go to what you listen to.

Unfortunately, it seems that the track you are looking for is not yet on Deezer and probably not in a near future as the track is distributed by Avex (japanese label) and Deezer doesn't have any tracks from this label yet.
We can just hope that they manage to have a deal with Avex one day so we can enjoy a lot of japanese tracks (and users asking for it might help in a way).
Still, you can always buy the track on another site and upload it to Deezer so you can enjoy it in the app (but it will be restricted to your account only) as stated by other users ;)

9+ hours of warm and grainy ambient electronic music for the cold winter days
Ce qui est particulièrement connu au BB Paris est son atmosphère musicale: https://www.deezer.com/fr/album/7105733
What's particularly famous with the Buddha Bar Paris is its musical ambiance: https://www.deezer.com/fr/album/7105733
I don't know why but lately I've been listening to that album at least once every day
I'm not kidding go listen to Avril Lavigne - Let Go (2002)
Let Go on YouTube
Let Go on Deezer
No Spotify link because Spotify sucks
Does someone really use Tidal?
If you use something else search it by yourself
Just getting started on porting this to Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/playlist/6804313324 it's collaborative if people want to contribute!
This is a song called I USED TO BE SUPERMAN by NMD. You can neither miss the lyrics nor the melody. There are a few songs like this. It's got very catchy lyrics and the melody is awesome. Enjoy https://www.deezer.com/us/album/9552160?deferredFl=1
Just added it to Deezer too!

There are Pain albums on streaming services, but Pain has been registered as the artist 2 or 3 times on some lf them, so check again, maybe google "streaming-service Pain album-name".
For example, by googling "deezer pain you only live twice" I found that all Pain albums are on Deezer.
Not exactly new (iOS version introduced 3 months ago), but might still be useful for iOS users who want to scrobble everything their mic picks up (iPhone, iPad or iPod touch).
SongCatcher is a feature for Deezer users on Android and iOS devices now which recognises the music that the microphone picks up. You can save the song to a playlist which you can scrobble afterwards with their internal scrobbling option. The connection between Deezer and Last.fm has to be enabled in the settings of their web player in the Alerts & Sharing tab, but should also work for the Deezer iOS app then.
Note that there is no other solution for music recognition and scrobbling available on iOS yet, as far as I know, e.g. the known ShazamScrobbler app only works on macOS. If you know one, please post it.
also I looked at my record collection and saw that my copy of Violator has also gone black-and-grey. the hype marketing for this album cycle is rad, dude
I'm listening to Joe Jackson's "Body And Soul" album on Deezer right now, it's mainly acoustic with an electric guitar and bass, but recorded live in an old cinema without audience, as far as I remember:
Check if you can already access the "New Releases every Friday" playlist in your different Flow playlists. The link would be this one, but it has only been rolled out to a few test users yet, it seems:
https://www.deezer.com/en/smarttracklist/new-releases
It contains new releases from your favorite artists, quite similar to Spotify's Release Radar list, but with a few differences.
