While scouring the internet yet again for any TLOU news, I happened upon a book that (to my knowledge) has never been discussed here on the subreddit before!
A Second Chance at Sarah is a graphic novel about a man named Johnny who is sent back in time to save his wife before she (as a teenager) sells her soul to a demon. It's sort of like a bittersweet Back to the Future. The book was written before Neil started work on TLOU but was reprinted after the success of the game.
It's honestly quite good! I love the art style and there are a couple of really evocative sequences. My biggest critique is that I wish it were longer. Moreover, as a fan of TLOU, it was great, as there are some definite narrative and aesthetic details which would ultimately carry over into the game.
Most notably, the character of Sarah (apart from sharing her name with Joel's daughter), sports a scar on her eyebrow JUST like Ellie!
Although it's not any new news on everyone's favorite game franchise, I hope it's a pleasing distraction while we all wait for a release date!

yes, after i got my ps4 i always use it on my ps3 and works perfectly on most games, there is a list of compatible games here.
if you play TLOU however i found that you can't recharge the batteries of your torch by shaking the controller, but for everything else it works :)
Funny you mention that, in the Grounded documentary they mentioned exactly that. They said they're very aware of that and when you start going down that rabbit hole where does it end? So they're not fixing anything like that, but just things that could make the experience better overall without taking away anything from the original.

Keep in mind that Joel's has faded do to wear and tear. It's not exactly like Joel's. His has bigger 'dark' lines going through it. But, other than that, it's close. And 'Wrangler' seems like the 'rough'n'tough' brand that Joel would choose to wear! =)

You're thinking about it as if she's in a normal world. She's in a post-pandemic world that's torn up to pieces, and Riley is really her only friend ( if you've read the comics, you'd see that she doesn't get along well with the other kids ). It really was a spur of the moment thing, she was really happy that Riley was not leaving. I can't say for sure that either of them were lesbians, but there was an air of love (more than a friendly love) between the two throughout the whole DLC. Naughty Dog even dropped some hints in the American Dreams comics. I suggest you watch this spoilercast if you haven't already, Neil and Bruce from Naughty Dog are there and they share their opinions and thoughts about the characters and the DLC.

I first ordered from Walmart which cancelled it altogether and this took a while to get to me. Hopefully those issues are sorted out now though
Because I'm not a tattoo person, but really wanted a literal tattoo sleeve!
Materials used: a Givon jacket and two Artline white fabric markers. I printed off a picture of the vector tattoo to use as a reference and painted it all on by eye after a lot of eyeballing and placing little pieces of Scotch tape to use as marks of measurement. Same deal for the Firefly, though that was just glancing at my monitor for reference. It took a lot of time, but I might consider making more to sell at some point.
Also, Ellie is one of my nicknames, so that's fun. :)

I just finished the game. I miss the characters to death. All other games seem so bleak and badly made in comparison to this.
This is a pretty good analysis of the ending:
In the final chapters of The Last of Us, Joel is made to save Ellie from death at the hands of the surgeons even though it would damn the human race. Joel has no other option in his mind, he needs something to live for. He's spent 20 years running from the death of Sarah, it's unlikely he'd be able to continue on knowing he let Ellie die too when she is like a daughter to him too. At great cost he rescues Ellie.
On the drive back to Tommy's camp he misrepresents the intentions of the Fireflies to Ellie because he loves her and doesn't want her to feel responsible for dooming the human race. Joel understands that's all on him and he considers it the easier situation to live with versus knowing he let Ellie die. To sum it up, Joel acted selfishly, he didn't save Ellie for humanity's sake, or even for Ellie herself, he saved her to make right his failure to save Sarah in his mind.
When Ellie asks him if what he said was the truth, he lies to her and says it was. During this scene you can see in Ellie's face a look a horror. She knows Joel is lying on some level, we can see it in her eyes, but she refuses to admit it to herself. He's the last person she can rely on in her life and after losing everyone else she's ever cared about, she can't lose Joel too. And so she says "Okay."

If you're talking about this, I don't think it exists anywhere on the soundtrack. The reason it's not on the soundtrack is because it's not actually just one piece of music, but a bunch of smaller ones that get seamlessly pieced together depending on how long you spend in that specific area.
The example you posted is actually the same way, but someone edited it together to make it seem like one song. They probably got it from this folder of unreleased music that somebody ripped from the disc. You might be able to find what you're looking for in there.
Edit: I just found it that folder. It's called "Bouncing Monkey Herd."
This rendering reminds me a bit of a mix-up between this game and Divergent, kind of more a futuristic Last of Us! Cool concept and I love the little easter egg if you can find it.

I actually found something interesting on my last playthrough that I had been missing the entire time. I happened to find it just a few hours before Left Behind was released, I don't think a lot of people saw it because of all the excitement. The Fireflies tested and failed with a vaccine 5 years prior. I posted this
I do agree that Joel is lying to try to make Ellie forget about finding the cure/vaccine, but I find it really hard to believe that killing Ellie would have resulted in a guaranteed vaccine. There was a recent podcast with Neil and Bruce and they pretty much confirmed that it was left open. Podcast They start talking about it about 27 minutes in.

I'm going to rec Straight On 'Til Morning. I never see it recommended here, probably because it treads a little too close to Joel/Ellie for some people's comfort. I want to be clear and say I dislike Joel/Ellie. It's squicky. There's never any ship in the fic, so you're safe there. That said, the author has them painted as extremely codependent with a side of PTSD. On the technical side, easily the best writing in the fandom. Beats Dirt by a mile.
Summary: They're okay. No, really. They are. Just because Joel's getting way too old for this and Ellie's way too young to know how to gut a man like she does, doesn't mean there's anything wrong. They endure. They survive. A series following Joel and Ellie (possibly not in entirely chronological order) and how they cope. After all, when you've managed to one-up the apocalypse in terms of screwing over mankind, what else can you do?
And a little one-shot if you just want to get a feel for the writing. Warning, it's a tragedy.
Summary: When Jackson loses two of its most well-known residents within days of each other, Tommy is left to pick up the pieces as best as he can.

I just copy-pasted the F in OF to match the L's position, then deleted the remnants of the L underneath the F.
If you're talking about the 'Refastered', then I copy-pasted the T into a new frame and edited it so that it looked like an F, then pasted the newly-created F into the T's position, then deleted the remnants of the T and moved the 'astered' so that it fit in with the F.
For the weathered effect, just a bit of gray-black with an alpha setting to it to make it look faded.
For the finishing touch, adding the Sonic head to Joel's face.

I'm sorry, but a narrative device can't be summarized by a google definition.
"Foreshadowing is a literary device used to give an indication or hint of what is to come later in the story. Foreshadowing is useful for creating suspense, a feeling of unease, a sense of curiosity, or a mark that things may not be as they seem." - Neil Gaiman.
While yes if the story of Part 2 was told chronologically you'd be right. But we already know Ellie is fighting the WLF, so the wolves wouldn't be foreshadowing. It'd be a symbolic representation between the two time periods, to invite reflection between the two as the audience.
It's like how Abby carrying Lev at the beach is a symbolic representation of Joel saving Ellie, which is in itself a symbolic callback to Joel and Sarah. These metaphores and symbols are to invite comparison in the audience. To create empathy.
Foreshadowing would be Manny saying "Hey, you only need three fingers, ya know what I mean man?" to the soilder who lost his fingers. This is cheeky forshadow to Ellie losing her two fingers at the end of the game.
Now art is subjective, and a literary devices can be used creatively. There are no set rules. So this has elements of foreshadowing, for sure. I just hope u get what I mean when I say this isn't 100% foreshadowing.

Great to hear. It’s absolutely meant to be played between 1 and 2. Just so you’re aware there’s also a very short comic book series that takes place before Left Behind called “American Dreams” that will add a lot to Left Behind’s story but isn’t needed if you’re not interested. Should be able to find it digitally or in paperback easily enough.

I wouldn’t snub my nose as PSNow. I mean, you can play 800+ games, some of which are PS4 games… it’s not all that expensive, and it’s probably the best option for playing PS3/4 games without having to go through the process of getting each game to work and ironing out all the issues that arise from emulation.

So Neil Druckman has referenced the novel earth abides by George r Stewart as inspiration for the ISH character in TLOU 1 . I read it and it's fucking Amazing! A very different view on the end of the world from other novels. About surviving in a very different way.
Highly recommended it. Right next to my copy of Station Eleven and The Road.
The reviews are only bad on metacritic because the game got review bombed there literally the moment of release. They aren't legitimate reviews. On Amazon, for example, the game is currently rated 4.7/5, with over 17k reviews.
Not to mention this game has several audience choice GOTY awards, and in the one place it didn't win GOTY, it came in second.
Gameplay-wise, the game is objectively significantly better than the first. Storywise, that is of course up to each individual, but most people seem to consider the story at the very least equivalent to the first. The story is definitely darker, grimmer, and bleaker than part 1 by far, and some people don't like it for this reason. Absolutely the sadness of the game can be hard to push through, for many people. The themes of the game also demand a lot more maturity than the first game.
And let's be frank here, the Last of Us part 2 is currently the only game even worthy of being called next gen, and it's not even a PS5 title. That's how quality the game is, even if you don't like the story.
