>If you are in the United States or Canada, you have to use a browser proxy to sign up […] It costs 9.99 Euros and thats about 10-12 USD/CAD.
You can get Deezer in the US for $4.99 if you sign up with a Bose product serial code. And you can find these serial codes if you look for them on the Web.
FYI- some more thoughts on "Home" from another Rdio employee.

Side note: It's interesting how you can go on Twitter and get actual human responses from their employees, where you just get useless cut & paste responses from their official customer support channels. I'll take a "Hey- we know that's an issue and we're working on fixing it" or "Sorry you don't like it, but here's our thought process behind it:..." over a "Thank you for your comment. We are always working to improve Rdio and I will forward your feedback to our team." any day.

They say "After your subscription ends, you can continue listening to Rdio Free (ad-supported stations on mobile or ad-supported, on-demand songs, albums, and playlists on the web) until the service goes offline."
so its inevitable that the service will end. All I wanna say is SUCK IT RDIO! Hope it fails. I'm pissed I invested my time in it and not in Spotify. Setting up favorites to the next service is a huge pain in the ass.
ON TOP of that... They're giving Canada the finger http://www.pandora.com/restricted B-E-A-Utiful.....
Oh yeah, it was probably you. Thanks!
My experience was I had to pay for the subscription in order to eschew using a proxy. Apparently, since my new account was on the free plan, they detected my location. However, they ignored my location after making a paid subscription to Deezer Premium+.
The subscription page,
https://www.deezer.com/offers/
, redirects US visitors to the Deezer Elite page, so I turned my proxy back on and tried the page again. After entering my payment details, I was able to use Deezer without a proxy.
In short: if you want to use Deezer in the US, proxy-free, you must first use a proxy to sign up to Deezer and pay for the Premium+ subscription. Deezer is more strict about your location if you use the free plan, but doesn’t seem to care where you use the app if you’re a paying subscriber.
Here you go :)

I'm a past subscriber of both and have had trouble deciding which one to stick with, so I've been a free user of both for the last 3 months. I'm just waiting for Spotify's "your music" to get to me so I can finally make a decision. What pushed you over the edge?
Hey, thanks.
To extend a little bit on where spotify is available:
"Spotify is available in Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Colombia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States" (From wikipedia, which links to https://www.spotify.com/us/select-your-country/)
This gives me hope that they'll be available for Canadians.
