as /u/BankaiPwn said the free version of Hola puts you at a bit of a risk. You're better off paying for a good VPN or if you must use a free one I have heard ZenMate mentioned as an alternative before, but I do not use it personally.
You need to be from the UK or use a VPN like zenmate to watch it.
HOLA
it's an extension people use to make it seem as if you're using the internet from a different country (mostly used for different netflix content)
hola is really harmfull for the fact that you enable your network for other users when using it. This means that while you're watching it's always sunny on american netflix, some pedofile is looking up child pornography using your IP. Chances are you're the one in trouble if somebody finds out.
great alternative is zenmate. Although the free version does not offer as many countries i've yet to hear anything bad about zenmate.
There is your one-click solution.
One warning - free version will soon have introduced monthly data-caps. How restrictive will they be is not known, but the service is one of the best out there while being incredibly simple to use.
This is the real question, with pretty much all services. I'm really new to all this and don't understand encryption and VPNs all that well, but it seems okay. It definitely works differently than Hola. There's some more info on the FAQs here: https://zenmate.com/faq/#how-differothers
But it could always end up being another shady operation down the road. :/ I've been checking out /r/vpn trying to learn more lately
>The list isn't static, it's constantly updated. As soon as one is blocked, another one is made and added to the list.
I know. I was just commenting that the authorities seem to have given up trying to block proxies. It used to be the case last year that you had to try most of those links to find one that was working without having to resort to ZenMate. If a proxy appeared on the list it would be blocked within a couple of days.
Now there's only three links on there that return a connection refused error so it looks like the authorities responsible for obtaining blocking court orders have realised how futile their efforts are.
You can use Zen Mate to go on Netflix, it's an amazing proxy plug in for any web browser. You can then literally watch almost anything on the German netflix. From Breaking Bad to House of Cards and Even Better Call Saul or Doctor Who, like everything lol; so many shows, full German audio/subs and English audio/subs you can choose which ones you want. I watch with German audio and English subs or other way around. I think you'd really like it; you might already know about it though haha
If you're using google chrome, download zenmate, which allows you to pretend you're in another country, then you can watch it. I am sure there are similar add-ons for all browsers
I'd advise against using Hola, there are some potentially shady things going on with this addon, as can be read about right here. Look for ZenMate instead.
I'm not legally allowed to let you bypass YouTube's geographic content restrictions while also utilizing YouTube's API.
There are lots of other extensions out there which do not use YouTube's API which provide the functionality you're looking for. For example, try this:
ALWAYS get International league pass my man.
It's 100% not worth the crazy prices they charge, when they blackout local and nat TV games.
You might be able to use a broswer VPN, to make it look like you're in Australia or Latvia. But I'm not sure if it works like that with the American league pass.
reddit-Stellungnahme hier:
> This week, Reddit received valid legal requests from Germany and Russia requesting the takedown of content that violated local law. As a result, /r/watchpeopledie was blocked from German IPs, and a post in /r/rudrugs was blocked from Russian IP's in order to preserve the existence of reddit in those regions. We want to ensure our services are available to users everywhere, but if we receive a valid request from an authorized entity, we reserve the right to restrict content in a particular country. We will work to find ways to make this process more transparent and streamlined as Reddit continues to grow globally.
Danke, Papa Staat! Schützt mich ja sonst keiner vor mir selbst.
Noch ein Tipp: ZenMate, kostenloser VPN mit bequemer Browsererweiterung.
Is this decision only for Twitter or for internet censorship in general? Because they can't just pick and choose which sites can be banned arbitrarily. Stop all internet censorship. What about blip.tv? What about so many other sites? And the most important of them all, XVideos, xhamster and Redtube? And there should be an official list of all the banned websites along with the reason for banning. And they should be reevaluated regularly. That list would be the ultimate porn site directory.
Also these bans don't prevent people from accessing them. They can access banned sites through virtual private networks. These encrypt the whole communication and then Turkish authorities have no way of monitoring the internet activities of their population. This just shuts off Turkey from this valuable information and gives it to western intelligence services who operate these networks and have much higher technical capabilities. VPNs are becoming very easy to use with browser extensions such as ZenMate.
So, normalize internet communication, don't ban sites, don't push people into using encrypted VPNs and quickly develop domestic equivalents of the most essential web services. There should be a domestic free e-mail service, search engine, social networking and video hosting site. These are trivial to setup and operate. There are open source projects for all of these services, even for the search engine:
No! Don't use Hola!
But there are other alternatives if you're looking for a free VPN service, though obviously paid services are typically better.
While you're waiting, here's Episode 3 of Jack Dee's Election Helpdesk that didn't get posted. If you're outside the UK, try using ZenMate.
100% use ZenMate. It's free right now during beta, and doesn't use your IP address as an outbound proxy for others, which Hola does.
If you wouldn't run a TOR Exit, do NOT run Hola! Just because it's browser based doesn't mean it's not proxying other's traffic for you.
Ok, I was going to give a detailed answer, but I don't even get a paywall when using a US VPN, so I can't check. But yeah, VPN is one option (I use ZenMate); usually, googling the headline also works. If the paywall is cookie based, deleting those, too.
I had to stop using Hola last week. It would either not load at all, or when it did the page would be filled with ads and popups, and firefox would freeze. After I uninstalled it everything went back to normal and I found a different extension called ZenMate that works even better, although I've only tried to connect to the UK Netflix, me being from the states.
Yes, but Tor is a whole set of proxy-servers, it slows down your internet connection much more than just one proxy server. Plus, you can use proxy as browser extension (This for instance )
Never heard of them before now, did you a solid and took a quick look into them.
Privacy Policy: https://zenmate.com/privacy-policy/
Things of note if TlDr:
They at least store timestamped and user associated connection logs if nothing else.
They will cooperate 100% with law enforcement.
They are based in germany which has great data privacy laws but extremely invasive police. The privacy policy does not explicitly reveal what is kept so its likely MORE than what i am listing above.
The privacy policy states data is routinely deleted, it doea not state how often, how securely or what data is removed. It could be everything, hourly, securely wiped and stored encrypted or yearly, some things and just deleted normally.
They claim they do NOT sell the data you provide to third parties.
They claim to be GDPR compliant and meet the requirements for right to be forgotten.
There is a seperare policy registrants agree to when signing up, there is no link to it in this article and they advise it is only shown during the registration process therefore i have not read it. Seems fishy.
The browser addon is a proxy not a VPN and does not benefit from AES encryption.
They use the following analytics services: Facebook, Twitter, Google, Google AdWords, Instagram.
PayPal appears to be the only payment processor.
I wouldnt recommend them without first asking them a bunch of questions.
No! Don't use Hola!
But there are other alternatives if you're looking for a free VPN service, though obviously paid services are typically better.
There is another alternative. It's called ZenMate. It's a VPN.
The free version is AFAIK restricted to US proxies but that's enough to watch US NetFlix wich offers much more compared to the german version. I have both installed but I prefer ProxMate for YouTube because I do not want all of my traffic to be routed via some company in Berlin.
I used a VPN to sign up for Spotify and then downloaded the app on my phone and laptop. The apps work just fine without a VPN, they only seem to require a valid account and password.
I used ZenMate to sign up. It's a free browser addon.

I always felt uncertain about Hola, so as soon as I heard about this I removed it right away. Then I tried out ZenMate, which seems more legit. I still keep the extension deactivated when I'm not using it, just in case, but does anyone know if it's really the same deal under a better façade?
dns yerine farklı bir tarayıcıda zenmate kullanıyorum. Engellenmiş bir siteye girmem gerektiğinde o tarayıcıdan direkt giriyorum.
Dns için de tavsiyem dns jumper. En hızlı dns'i bulabiliyor ve otomatik değiştiriyor.
From what I've read, Hola! has some shady terms which basically allow someone to share your stream. This means if someone does something illegal and they're paired with you, you get blamed as well. I prefer ZenMate. It doesn't have nearly as many options as Hola! but it is safer and includes the big ones (USA, UK, etc.).
First time I've heard of ZenMate, but it sounds very interesting! I read a bit in their FAQ, and there's one thing worth taking note of:
> During our market rollout we offer accounts with unlimited traffic to all new users for a limited amount of time. In the future we will offer free accounts with a limited amount of monthly traffic and several versions of paid premium accounts with unlimited monthly traffic and additional features. Early users will always have the possibility to stay with our free plan later on or change into a paid plan once they are introduced.
It'll be interesting to see how much traffic they'll allow on free accounts, and how much they'll charge for premium accounts.
I’m using ZenMate, a German VPN provider, mainly because it’s based in Europe.
It works well (though it could be better) and it’s fast enough (35/40mbps on a 50mbps connection). I’m using it on all my devices except the ATV.
Well, they say that they don't, and that's pretty much as good as it gets. I don't really know what further assurance could any VPN service give on this matter. They offer a premium service in addition to their free servers, which is supposed to be their source of income.
I use this most of the times. https://zenmate.com/ . Doesnt require any software. Just install their addon on your browser and you are good to go !
There are other cheap solutions around. ask /r/vpn for more info. Basically you just need to connect to a US server.
> Error loading media: File not found This means the URL to your audio/video file could not be found. Please make sure the file is available at the location you provided (did you set relative paths correctly?) and available for loading in the player (are the access rights set correctly?). Last, check if your webserver sends out the correct mimetype header along with the file. HTML5 browsers are very picky at times, while newer formats (WebM, MP4) may not have an associated mimetype in your webserver.
What we learned from this message:
Check if the file was not removed
Check if you can stream the video with a free proxy
Try to disable AdBlock
Try the safe mode of your browser (search "safe mode your browser")
Use a modern and updated browser (which supports flash and html5)
Try with another browser
I use Google Chrome version 48.0.2564.116 m (64-bit) and Putlocker works fine.
Hola's been proven to be a botnet anyways, you might wanna try ZenMate
Try ZenMate. You should be able to get a plugin for whichever browser you're using. Just turn it on and select a proxy from whichever country you want (US, in this case) and you should be able to access US sites since your connection will be routed through a US proxy server. It'll slow your connection down a bit since there's an extra hop between you and the site you're connecting to, but unless you're streaming HD video on a slow connection you probably won't notice much difference.
Another option is Hola, but from what I've heard it's not a good choice as they were doing something shady. A quick Google or looking around reddit should point out the problem. I only tried using it once and found it to be incredibly slow. ZenMate works well for me though, so I suggest trying that one.
Additionally, you can force Google to give you the US site if you go to http://www.google.com/ncr. The "ncr" stands for "No Country Redirect" so that you can access the main US Google search from anywhere.
ZenMate browser extension is like the easiest, most non-intrusive VPN extension I've ever used. I turn it on/off whenever I want, I can pick even the region I want to appear to be in, and it never tries to shove ads down my throat.
If you still think it's too complicated and still want to go through a legal route, either hope for reruns on Space or break out your wallet to start buying episodes.
Wait. DO NOT USE THIS! Hola turns your connection into an exit node which allows people to use your internet connection and potentially access illegal material. I now use the unblocker ZenMate once I found this out.
As far as i'm aware you connect to their tunnel, rather than connecting into a tunnel with everyone else it is just a link between you and their servers.
If you mean in terms of usability how do you use it, then it works very similarly to Hola although I find it easier as you can just turn it on to bypass a lot of things such as ISP blocks. It also has a little drop down to select from countries (the reason I believe they're legit and not the same as hola is due to them only having 5 countries of choice) I believe someone looked into it and couldn't find any evidence similar to that against Hola too. But I can't find a source on that. Check out their FAQ
Use ZenMate, it helped me solve this problem. It's going to slow down your internet speed a bit, but you will be able to acess Game Informer. EDIT: Make sure to set your location to USA.
Besides those two Youtube streams (why bury them under that one link in the OP?) there are these on Sport1 website:
https://tv.sport1.de/player/player.php?id=s453238
https://tv.sport1.de/player/player.php?id=s728958
Use VPN like https://zenmate.com to bypass the geoblock.
ZenMate is also free, works well, and (as far as I can tell) doesn't do this.
As a general note, when using any of these services, you should only turn them on when you actually need them, and switch them back off for the rest of your web browsing. That ways you can minimize the risk of any personal data getting intercepted/logged/etc.
> tador há uns tempos atrás.
Tem também o [ZenMate https://zenmate.com/], mas não é possível definir que apenas os sites X e Y sejam acessados com IP de fora. Quando ativado, todos os sites passam por esse filtro.
Sure! Before we start, just note that this practice is totally not condoned by the league and you might not want to do it; you could get your MLS Live account banned. The blackout enforcement is essential to the league's TV deals, so they don't have a lot of wiggle room.
The premise: When you click a match to watch on MLS Live, the server looks at your location and compares it to a TV coverage map. If it determines the game is on TV for you, the stream is blacked out. We want to server to think we're connecting from somewhere without TV coverage.
You'll need an MLS Live subscription
Now, you need a way to connect to the streams from outside the coverage area. A VPN is the most secure (and it gives you other advantages), but the easiest and cheapest option is zenmate. I'll continue assuming you're using ZenMate — install the add-on and create an account.
Open MLS Live and navigate to the page listing all the matches.
Click the ZenMate icon on your browser window and activate it by clicking the toggle in the bottom right.
Now click the "Change Location" button on the bottom left, and select a new country. Doesn't really matter which one.
Back on MLS Live, click the game you want to stream and wait for it to load.
Turn off ZenMate (via the same toggle you used to activate it) and enjoy!
You'll have to reactivate ZenMate or your VPN any time you want to refresh or connect to watch a new game.
How about ZenMate? It doesn't have such a wide range of countries to choose from as Hola has (i think only US, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Hong Kong). You can just wait for the stream to buffer a bit & then turn it off and you should be fine.
You are not missing anything brilliant. It's 18 rubber ducks with club colors "racing" in a pool and commentary. It's one idea drawn lengthy without any further twists.
Check out https://zenmate.com for an easy to use proxy.
The way zenmate phrase things, I actually think they're going to end up becoming a premium service.
Things like Hola end up selling data because they're free, following the general rule "If a service is free, you are the product".
If zenmate did ever end up charging, in an ideal world you wouldn't need to worry about any nefarious goings on: https://zenmate.com/faq/
I've recently made the jump to PIA and couldn't be happier with it.
You can watch all YouTube videos that HQ posts by using something like ZenMate extension for your browser.
Basically it makes YouTube think you're browsing from another country so it gets around the limitations that HQ puts on their videos.
zenmate is your mate: https://zenmate.com/ (free for desktop browser, paid for mobile)
it slows down the connection a little bit though, but enough for redditing. For streaming research videos , I prefer anonymox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/anonymox/
Hey,
I think if you just install: https://zenmate.com/ it'd fix most of your problems. There will always be some geographical issues with copyright, but there's lots of ways around it. :) Glad you like the program somewhat, though!
There's a chrome extension called ZenMate which is free and 1000x easier and quicker to use than any paid VPN I've ever used. It really is the best thing I've found for changing your location to get around Thai censorship, what is it they mainly censor again?
Edit : Link
Agree. Smart DNS proxy is the only Smart DNS provider that I know of that is reliable at unblocking US Netflix.
ZenMate VPN has a good feature, though, that could be suitable for OP. It's called "Smart Locations". It basically allows you to select VPN to be 'on' only for specific websites. Or if you want to use 1 country as your main VPN and a different country as a VPN for a select website, you can set it this way too.
Hey /u/DizzyUpTheCentury
Sorry to hear that it didn't work out :(
However we've had a bunch of changes over the past few months with regards to how we want to grow as a company.
If you'd still like to give us a shot, keep an eye on our page and let me know if you find something. I'd be glad to help :)
Why don't you use a free (or paid) VPN? I think the questionnaire will go away as BSNL won't be able to intercept. A chrome plugin ZenMate works pretty well for me!
Also, I love how your desktop looks :)
I think it's this: https://zenmate.com/promotion/share/
The guy who originally sent it to me deleted his comment, so I can't be sure. There was just a button that I clicked, and it gave me 3 months free. They may have changed it to require you to share on Twitter, but you can probably just create a throwaway or something.
Also apparently there's this trick to get unlimited "3 months free premium" bonuses (share, get promotion code, add promotion code to your main account), but you'd have to create a lot of throwaway Twitter accounts for that.
I've been using ZenMate recently (Canadian, watching US). So far they said that there isn't any invasive-ness to it all, and it's a tad slow to start, but it quickly maxes out my 25mbit line and gives me HD.
Their manifesto says they don't sell you or your connection either.
Personally i use ZenMate. It's completely free and works fine without having to buy their Premium service. The only difference is Free users only have 4 VPN locations to choose from - Romania, Germany, Hong Kong, and US, which is fine for this task seeing as you need US as your location! :)
If you just want to protected your browser privacy and get around region/country blocks you could probably just get away with the free version of ZenMate. Paid account is definitely speedier, though. If you look around for affiliate/coupon codes you can get a year for pretty cheap.
Not just you. Most trackers seem to have recently stopped working / been blocked on wolfie...sad day.
Edit: Here's a 50-day free trial for a great VPN called ZenMate if anybody is interested. Just beat a short little flash game, and no credit card required (click on all the ghosts and pumpkins, and avoid the candies). Been working great for me so far - 12 ping and 85Mbps down on Ethernet.
There would be other solutions, but I use this (comes as an app as well as a Chrome/Firefox extension). It allows you to choose your public location. Great for Aussies to access the much more extensive USA & UK Netflix libraries, too.
You have to download the Zen Mate extension for Chrome (or whatever web browser you use) and change your IP address to a US one. It's not a permanent thing, you can switch it on/off at will and it's very easy to use.
try this browser extension whenever you face the similar problem -
link for Firefox - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/zenmate-security-privacy-vpn/
PS : also try - https://kat.cr
I thought that as well. They make all of their profit through their premium service. https://zenmate.com/manifesto/
If you are wary of free services then I would go with https://nvpn.net/
I used it for a year when I was working abroad and it was great.
I watch a lot of foreign movies and have to leave the US Netflix more often than most people would, so it's absolutely worth it to me just for the Netflix aspect of how I use my VPN. Mileage will vary, of course.
I've heard a lot of people on Reddit and the 4chan tech boards mention ZenMate as an alternative for Hola, but I can't personally vouch for it since I've never used it. Might be worth checking out for your particular needs.
This is not working in Germany. I got it to work by using the US proxy in the ZenMate proxy browser add-on.
Edit: They are live now! squee :D
Also, US got to laggy, but the Rumania proxy works too! :)
Lastly, they don't have any news on the possible Season 2 renewal yet :(.
Sorry! I'm pretty sure those links used to be publicly accessible, but Naxos might have changed that.
There are two recordings of this piece by the Westminster Choir on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zihV-RVjQzM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBdWhfeeH8g
They don't work all over the world. If they don't for you, ZenMate set to USA does the trick.
Edit: The links stopped working for me now, even with the proxy server.
follow the wirelessflyingcord advice
> Top 30 qualifying is just starting, stream: > https://tv.sport1.de/player/player.php?id=s95013674 > ...geoblocked, so use e.g. https://zenmate.com VPN browser extension (install, turn it on and pick Germany, once the stream loads, disable it). > If you get a plugin error, disable adblock.
Continent-restricted sites are interesting... If you happened to get an easy-to-use proxy plugin for chrome like ZenMate that let you choose the region you wanted the proxy to be in, BBC probably couldn't tell that you weren't actually in the UK. They'd probably let you watch everything in their iplayer library, including this documentary.
Interesting stuff, right?
Analyzing Nevare88
trust score 106.2% ^tell ^them ^your ^secrets!
Fun facts about Nevare88
I think I read something somewhere a while back (I know, very specific) about how Hola inserts ads into your browser. They probably don't cause this but I would uninstall if I were you! I personally use ZenMate
Yes there's a lot unblock-us could do as your DNS provider if they were malicious. If he does not want to trust a small Barbados company with critical network services on computers processing sensitive financial data he can disable unblock-us.
Just have him "hard code" a DNS into banking computer. I always uses googles DNS (8.8.8.8) because it's easy to remember and performs well but there are a lot of alternatives.
If he's using his computer to watch netflix unblock-us is not worth the expense, just use one of the free services such as https://zenmate.com/
I'm not a fan of geoblocked sites, but it's been 24 hours and the video hasn't shown up anywhere else. Last week's show didn't turn up on YouTube or other sites until five days later. Here it is, if you haven't seen it yet.
You can watch geoblocked video using ZenMate.
Can't speak to experience for a reliable VPN in the US, as I'm located in the US and it wouldn't really do anything for me. I use ZenMate to access BBC streams from the UK, and I believe that has a US option as well.
Strangely, Google themselves don't seem to have any sort of solution to this either. You would think they'd just allow you to set a preference somewhere and you could use whichever version of Google that you wanted no matter your location, but they seem to go by your IP address instead.
Given that, you might want to download the ZenMate Proxy (it's free) for whichever browser you're using and set it to the UK proxy so that you'll appear to be in the UK. That might solve the problem.
I've been trying out zenmate. They have an android app on play. Chome and firefox extensions. Free for the first 500mb a month. Not sure how much after that.
Here's a techcrunch article about the company.
I'm really confused about what a VPN is. I use the ZenMate Chrome extension to access US netflix. Will I be safe to torrent by using this? Like, is this a VPN or a proxy?
ZenMate is the best way I've found to get around country blocks.
It's such a shame Al Jazeera English started blocking the US from their YouTube channel when they opened their American cable network. They post so many great documentaries there.
Oh man, I haven't thought about that. I guess I was just too excited with the idea that I had access to porn(porn is blocked over here) that it didn't come across my mind...
I'll do a bit of research when I get a chance and I'll let you know.
Edit: From what I've read, it seems that the main problem is that you have to sign up using your email, and thus marketers can see the websites you visit and send you spam. You can always make a new email to avoid this. But anyway, here are two websites that you can do you're own browsing to see how legit it is.
https://zenmate.com/faq/#is-safe and http://www.vpnranks.com/zenmate-downloading-instructions-dangers-alternatives/
oddly enough, this doesn't work in the central US but a it does with a new york proxy. zenmate and hola unblocker are really nice for getting around regional blocks
It says the pro accounts are free in the launch phase, but after that you'll be on a free account. The free account is just limited.
A quote from their FAQ:
>During our market rollout, we are offering accounts with unlimited traffic to all new users for a limited amount of time. In the future we will offerfree accounts with a limited amount of monthly traffic and several versions of paid premium accounts with unlimited monthly traffic and additional features. > >Your account will always remain free by default and will only change to a paid premium account if you explicitly wish to do so.
