This is from the excellent BBC comedy Him & Her.
There's a behind the scenes clip of Joe getting his beard shaved here. (I think it should play outside the UK.) They didn't make him shave his head: that's a cap.
Maybe obvious, but for those in the USA, Deep Heat is the non-US brand for Mentholatum Deep Heating Rub. Why it's called Deep Heat everywhere else but not the US, I don't know.
to avoid the bolsoft logo issue. check out some actual subtitling software like aegisub. It'll be way faster and easier to use than using a full blown video editor.
Also this way you can export as a softsub (or keep it as a hardsub if that's more your thing, whatever.)
Judge for yourself, he has a BBC show.
I think his edgy stuff was usually reserved for live stand-up shows anyway.
Here's an archive from 1967 to 2011. The early ones are interesting, but if you want episodes that feel more like what you're used to, start around 2000, or maybe into the '90s.
There's also the 631 fics that exist in the British Comedy RPF most of which involve people self-inserting themselves to bone Benedict Cumberbatch (idk why he's so prevalent in the british comedy category?) but also a lot of David Mitchell x Charlie Brooker (if the Lee x David ship is too vanilla for your tastes.)
Everyone who reads the page before installing the addon knows this.
Its specifically stated on their site multiple times e.g. "Hola's P2P network makes the typically expensive task of delivering video now absolutely free, since the network of viewers is now the network of CDN servers."
Nothing to be surprised about, what did you think - everything in this world is free ?
It's available on 4od if you use something like Zenmate (I assume, for those outside the UK) and you can get adblock there by pausing adblock then unpausing adblock whilst the video buffers.
Might be helpful for some people.
Yep, took me awhile to find until I went back and watched the part where Tim threw the ice in the river.

Hi, wanted to let you know that you can grab subtitles from this site: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/ssearch/sublanguageid-all/idmovie-780194
You can then use an app like Subler to add the srt files to the media file in question.
Hope that helps.
I'm actually not bothered with Zenmate asking for money. It's not like they're asking for a tremendous amount. Services that don't charge usually go the way of the dodo once they realize they can't continue to operate without some form of funding.
For someone who watches UK television nearly every day it's still quite a value. Oh and I have a job so not like it's the greatest of hardships.
I found out how to block all ads: pause adblock, press play, then get positioned to click unpause, wait for the moment after the loading icon disappears but before the first ad plays, and unpause. You're ad-free for the whole episode.
Also, you can use Zenmate outside the US.
Someone will likely post later with a YouTube video.
Here is a list of all the tasks, it helped me refresh my memory. I have forgotten a lot of them which works for me since I now have a reason to binge it again.
MIRROR if the OP gets too many views and can't be viewed any more.
I'm going to suggest another approach: Take a TV panel show and rip the audio. This works great with Would I Lie To You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, QI and Have I Got News For You. Those shows don't rely on visual cues/jokes and you can simply listen to them in the gym or on your way to work.
And converting them to mp3 is really easy.
You're welcome.
It is very simple actually. There is a tool called youtube-dl that makes it possible to download audio and video from a variety of websites.
BBC Radio is available worldwide so all you need is this tool to download.
Link: https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/
GUI is also available for simplicity: https://mrs0m30n3.github.io/youtube-dl-gui/
Let me know if you have any questions.
Right click on the link and choose "Copy Link Location".
Open VLC, Select "Media" then "Open Network Stream" then paste the location into the URL box and click "Play"
While you're waiting, here's Episode 3 of Jack Dee's Election Helpdesk that didn't get posted. If you're outside the UK, try using ZenMate.
Neither are very good to be honest. Lots of old stuff on there. The novelty wore off quite quickly. I would use your money to get a subscription to IPVanish or a similar VPN. I presume you're using a FireStick or something Amazon related? (I only assume since that's how I watched Britbox and Acorn TV) Through a bit of a process you can get the ITV Hub, All 4, UKTV Play and the iPlayer and use IPVanish to watch it all on there. You can also get IPVanish on your phone or as a desktop app so you can just watch stuff in browsers. The iPlayer will often detect it so you have to try a few different locations but that's where these subs come in handy if you're losing patience. Also, ITV and Channel 4 do have ads so it's nice to have an ad-free version where available.
Depends if you consider a VPN/chrome vpn extension legal.
Beebs is a free Chrome extension, meant for BBC iPlayer but does work for other UK sites, including channel 4.
I've used both Identity Cloaker and IP Vanish, both paid services but I watch enough overseas telly to make it worth while.
If you have a TV licence, it's on iPlayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000wvy6/have-i-got-a-bit-more-news-for-you-series-61-episode-9
I have uploaded all previous seasons of Gruen here: mega.nz/#F!PSRRVLbC!IEEJKlPA9F-EObhPftgS6g
A request:
Does anyone have Gruen XL S08 E07 ripped from iview in 2016?
Such as this torrent? https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/16308293/Gruen.2016.09.14.Episode.7.360p.LDTV.WEBRIP.[MPup]
Or just this file? Gruen.2016.09.14.Episode.7.[MPup].mp4
If you ripped it yourself then, depending on the program used, it might also be named:
In any case, if it ends in .mp4, then it is probably the file I'm looking for.
Look into using a VPN. It will change your location from the country your computer is in to another country of your choice.
Some are free, though I think most free VPN's allow other people to use your internet connection, so potentially you could have someone doing dodgy business through your internet.
I don't know whether any VPN's are blocked on iPlayer/4OD (the catch up services most of these shows are on) but I'm sure there's plenty you could use. I use AirVPN and it works for me - I'm from the UK but usually connected to the Netherlands and iPlayer sometimes even works when I'm connected there.
The live broadcast just wrapped up and the episode should be available soon. Those outside of the UK will need the Zenmate browser extension.
The 45min XL version will air on May 11 @ 10:40pm local time.
I've been using Private Internet Access for about a year and a half now for accessing non-US content, and I'd recommend them to anyone. They have a lot of servers around the world, and the ones I've used are all fast and reliable; I haven't experienced any downtime personally.
I really love Mark Lamarr, I'm going through his old radio shows one by one, you can find them here. This guy is so passionate and knowledgeable about music, it's unebelievable he's not on the radio anymore.
My VPN was blocked for a while, but it got sorted. Also, going to Switzerland and signing up for a (FREE) site http://zattoo.com/ lets you watch 30 free hours of TV a month, including live BBC and Channel 4 broadcasts.
Sheiiiiiit, I'm evidently not very good at this!
Thank you more competent Redditor!
This was posted with this episode number and it says Rougue in the intro. Also https://thetvdb.com/series/qi-xl/seasons/official/18 says it’s no 14. And so does the bbc https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000t8qs
Name it "Taskmaster (NZ)" a good workflow if you're unsure of how to name a show is to search it on tvdb. In this case you can see it here https://thetvdb.com/series/taskmaster-nz
Another thing I do is use a program called Filebot. While it is a paid program is absolutely great for getting everything nice and formatted before you put it on your server. You can also pirate it if you have no cash.
Yeah I've lived in China for the last decade, and it was always Astrill vs Express in the battle of the VPNs, at one point I had both, and I know China is more extreme as the government can literally turn access on or off to you VPN when they want, and they certainly do, but it was Astrill that always won over in the end.
They just reacted better and faster to the restrictions and there was a time a few years ago when the G20 was in Hangzhou and they really made all VPN connections virtually impossible. You could just about use Astrill on desktop, but on android it ios it was impossible.
Express sort of stopped bothering to compete, and using the app on your phone was so frustrating, drops out all the time.
But, I know using Express from China is totally different to being in the UK or US. Probably works much better...until the BBC started knowing about VPNs!
Astrill with an added private UK location is currently the only one for me that works for iPlayer! I've been using it so long, I bet some other people who have Astrill without the private location also have issues with Netflix etc
I have always used Astrill, and pay extra for the private location which means almost no site or app realises I'm on a VPN.
The BBC is very good at spotting VPNs, but the private location has never been detected. It's a God send.
You can get like a 2 year subscription to ExpressVPN for like 70 bucks, which, if you set your country to UK, will give you access to iplayer and uktv, which covers most of this subs content. Youtube also helps. We'd still be lost for a decent chunk of shit without cherzo but it covers a lot of ground in his absence
I live in China, so my VPN game needs to be on point.
Astrill private VPN allowed me to spend yesterday watching Bake Off and catching up on University Challenge.
Just got to Astrill and when you are in the process of choosing the product, there's an add on section. Click private VPN and choose which one you'd like - obviously choose a UK one! I have London 5.
Private Internet Access. The browser is irrelevant. When you run the VPN software, all of your Internet traffic goes through the VPN. I don't think they're strident about blocking VPNs.
But, I haven't been able to watch the BBC in ages due to VPN blocking. PIA accepts payment via a variety of gift cards you can buy in stores.
I wanted to check out a previous edition and was never able to get my hands on a rip. What I ended up doing was setting my VPN (Private Internet Access) to New Zealand and then bouncing it to the Chromecast.
Bless whatever lazy Googler made YouTube only pay attention to the geotag of your IP address right now, and not where you were one second ago when you failed to load a video.
(I use the VPN "Private Internet Access", but there are many other good options as well. Very easy to change your country. I'm currently in London according to my IP.)
Have you disabled location tracking in your browser(s)?
You could also try setting the system clock to UK/GMT timezone, I'm sure this came up as a solution for a similar problem in the past.
Also which VPN are you using? I'm with Private Internet Access/PIA and I've had a few geo problems recently, amongst other things!
If you're willing to wait, I got 2 years with PureVPN (which is awesome and works for iPlayer, Channel 4, TV Catchup (incl. live TV) and ITV) for $50 on a Black Friday sale. They might do it again this year.
I got a VPN through PureVPN and I can watch them on the Dave site. I highly recommend it. It's cheap (I'm a salesperson's dream and paid upfront for 2 years, but it's $2 a month and I've used it for about 6 months so already saved money over going month-to-month), fast and I can watch C4, iPlayer, UKTVPlay and a few other things. Sky doesn't work but I think you need a subscription like HBOGO and ITV is weirdly hit and miss. Sometimes it knows I'm a fradulent Canadian. Sometimes it doesn't. Depends who's working the doors, I guess.
And I must say, the Channel4 site is especially good. They have soo many box sets and full series up there. It's better than anything we have available for free in Canada by a mile.
Sarah's mandoline is from Joseph Joseph and I didn't have to look that up as I was looking at them earlier. Looks like she broke the finger protector in two.
ExpressVPN is having an issue right now in NZ (it's being blocked by TVNZ) but they are aware of it and working on it (who knows what that means).
Live TV works though and I wish I would have watched it live last night, now.
Google drive link above is down (sooooo many fans!)
This is probably a stupid question, but does NordVPN (or other VPNs) work on an iPhone/iPad? I’m visually disabled and don’t have a desktop or laptop. I usually try to access Brit-only shows on archive, but until they create a viable streaming service, I’d like an easier way to watch (wish BritBox was better than it is…)
I have been accessing Iplayer through VPN for the last couple of years and haven’t had a problem at all. Every now and again I need to clear my browsing history and open a new tab but hardly ever. I’m using NordVPN
There's this, which look very cool. Or hot.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000sldh/step-up-to-the-plate-series-2-5-grill-seekers-day-1
This was posted in the previous topic, though I haven't actually watched it yet. Of course, I don't think they actually show her crying on the show, but this was the episode being referred to.
I would definitely recommend Mullvad for their pricing and transparency. Most VPNs are owned by a few bigger companies that are a bit sketchy.
Personally, I haven't tested Mullvad with UK streaming sites though, I use NordVPN myself. I don't trust NordVPN as I'd trust Mullvad but at least Nord has a pretty solid tracking record of working for circumventing area restrictions on UK sites.
There are subs for ep 9 here:
https://subscene.com/subtitles/taskmaster-twelfth-season/english/2631734
But they go out of sync at the commercial breaks with the version of the ep I tried them with. That can be fixed with an editor, or in the player on PC.
It was named with spaces instead of periods, so it appeared near the bottom of the page for the whole season. I only found them right before watching the episode, so I didn't have time to fix the timing.
Well the Horne Section did a podcast where they all played music together from their own homes, and it turned out very well.
You are more than welcome to this zip file of the international subs. They go with the HD versions of the files. Let me know if you have probs. It is about 2mb. Bless. Other than that anyone is free to pack all of the TM as a torrent or mirror to GD. I have always said that but have had no offers.
UK is here from tribbletown.
EDIT: If anyone reshares whose reading this in the future pls make an effort to credit the original people who compiled them (esp. the subs). They take a lot of blood, sweat and tears to do.
Yeah, never understood why anyone would pay to watch their own stuff. I mean, I's on my harddrive, why would I pay anyone to watch that?
I could understand it, if it came with some kind of cloud space, where I could put my stuff, and whatch it from there (like put.io does), put my local stuff? LOL.

I had all of the episodes, but last week I deleted the ones I had watched because I personally do not think they have rewatch value. (It's very topical, so has a short shelf-life for me, and Ballard often makes the same jokes covered by Micallef, or by everyone else for non-au news. I had been saving them to watch in batches, but even watching them a month later it's too stale for me to enjoy)
I got them all from here: https://thepiratebay.org/user/makinapufterpup/
They are also available on tasmanit.es
i recommend getting ProtonVPN - it has a few free countries, and the netherlands are one (which then lets you access taskmaster on youtube)
proton are a pretty trusted company too, so i'd say your privacy is respected etc
One of the perks of being a moderator is that by using the mod toolbar, I see when there's unmoderated posts, so if I'm around, I sometimes get first crack at a new submission like that, too. :)
Anyone else who wants the same experience - http://blogtrottr.com/ offers free RSS→Email and it checks every few minutes. If you add ".rss" to nearly any reddit link, you can get RSS. Well, and some like RSS clients, I just never have.
So the .rss feed for here would be:
(Note that I added ".rss" after "search" because that's the page. If you're not familiar with how URLs are built, "?" indicates the end of the location and the start of the parameters. After the first parm, "&" indicates the next. "%" indicate character codes and are part of the name or data of a parameter)
(So the RSS for the entire sub would be reddit.com/r/panelshow/.rss - for a simpler example)
I use dns4me.net in Aus. Works pretty well.
I can direct download iPlayer programs using this and Downie (on a Mac). I know there are free command line tools but this is way simpler.
I use the youtube-dl downloader, which was suggested by another member of this sub. Pretty simple. It's not much, but I'm happy that I can give back a little to this sub which has given me so much.
It can get confusing lol There is The Big Fat Quiz of the Year. https://thetvdb.com/?id=315505&tab=series
It does a quiz at the end of every year and has done Specials on 80's(two of them) 90's (two of them) and the2000's . They also have done a few Anniversary Quiz episodes. The in 2016 and 2017 They did Specials titled The Big Fat Quiz of Everything 2016 and The Big Fat Quiz of Everything 2017.
Since those were popular , They did a 3 episode season of The Big Fat Quiz of Everything https://thetvdb.com/?id=315505&tab=series
The Big Fat Quiz of everything 2016 and 2017 are listed as Specials for both series now.
Subtitles are already in the file as an option, but do not automatically play, so for myself, having a separate file can be helpful as I don't know how to "activate" the embedded subs on my TV, and I thought they may help someone else as well.
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/8101497/8-out-of-10-cats-episode-22-7-en
Download from here and rename .srt to same as the .mp4. Timings seems correct.
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/7659040/8-out-of-10-cats-does-countdown-episode-17-6-en
It can be a bit finicky, but I use Kodi and can find just about anything I want to watch there. You need to get Kodi and then an add-on to actually stream the shows. r/addons4kodi should be able to get you sorted. Look for the monthly stickies or in the sidebar.
With which player are you trying to open the files? Video files can be a bit tricky at times. Try using VLC media player. It generally plays anything you throw at it.
It seems that your comment contains 1 or more links that are hard to tap for mobile users. I will extend those so they're easier for our sausage fingers to click!
Here is link number 1 - Previous text "VLC"
^Please ^PM ^/u/eganwall ^with ^issues ^or ^feedback! ^| ^Delete
Plex is an home media software (sort of like a DIY Netflix.) You don’t need it to watch these.
The video files are all MKV files, which is a type of video file. Most video players can open this type of video, but VLC is a good video player, if you need one.
I'm not a fan of geoblocked sites, but it's been 24 hours and the video hasn't shown up anywhere else. Last week's show didn't turn up on YouTube or other sites until five days later. Here it is, if you haven't seen it yet.
You can watch geoblocked video using ZenMate.
Can't post a mirror on my server as this is a direct download on my server....
But here's the torrent I got it from - and I'm seeding on my seedbox: https://www.limetorrents.info/The-Last-Leg-S21E03-1080p-HDTV-x264-DARKFLiX[eztv-re]-torrent-15824908.html
This link to the subtitles is OK, but the video linked by OP has been removed from Drive. It looks like this alternative source is working as of right now, and the video from this source lines up with these subtitles.
Note: I was only able to get this download to work in Internet Explorer, not Chrome (and had to do the CAPTCHA twice for some reason).
I've seen something like this before with Google Drive. Often reloading the page helps (or at least shows a different subset of files). Also, when I use Backup And Sync (https://www.google.com/drive/download/backup-and-sync/), and "add to my drive", and make sure I'm syncing that folder/subfolder, all of the files seem to eventually get there.
NordVPN... not using the free tier, so not sure if NZ is available without paying. As far as it goes, it is a very high quality product (on MacOS at least) compared to free stuff I have used in the past. Connecting to a new VPN is almost instantaneous and only one click from a straightforward UI. Not a guerrilla marketer I promise! I totally get most ppl. are not going to pay money for a VPN service when you can get it for free.
I’m in the US, so there have been a ton of VPNs available, but TV stations caught on to free ones like Hola and TunnelBear really quickly. Express VPN worked for a few years—I think because they would generate new addresses regularly—but even ITV picks up Express right now. It looks like Astrill with a private channel is only two dollars more per month than Express was anyway, so it’s worth a shot. Some friends who work in computers have told me I should use a VPN for anything I do online anyway, so having a private location setting is probably just a good idea to have anyway.
I wish there was just some kind of international subscription option for the BBC or a conglomeration of UK tv channels. I would happily pay a monthly fee to be able to stream current panel shows!
I cannot figure out how to bypass the geo blocking. I'm running ExpressVPN and going incognito. All4 also blocks me, I used to be able to change my system setting to UK along with the VPN but now that doesn't even work.
ProtonVPN and Cloud Flare 1.1.1.1 (previously WARP) both have good free VPNs and don't sell your details. Although Cloud Flares VPN is very new and may not be available to new customers immediately and is limited to 10GB per month.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.protonvpn.android&hl=en_GB
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudflare.onedotonedotonedotone&hl=en_GB
Wouldn't that scare the children? Also, You are welcome. And, Sexy version
I don't know whether discussion is frowned upon, but using the trial version of the Zenmate chrome extension (which isn't malware / spreading viruses as far as I'm aware) , setting it to US , one can easily watch @midnight on the comedy central website.
They already made it too hard to view iPlayer without TV license. If you've paid for a license, you've got a valid post code. Between this change and the VPN clamp down for Netflix, I've cancelled my TunnelBear.
IPinator offers multiple countries, is easy to set up, and you can currently get a one year subscription for as little as a dollar - or a lifetime subscription for about nine bucks. Just used it to watch episode 3, worked like a charm.
Yes. Orange allows it in daytime on weekdays. Numericable doesn't.
Just to be clear, the BBC Media Player is not available on other platforms than Google-locked Androids, and allows only streaming. Not downloading. Just as with in-browser streaming, bandwidth is subject to both BBC an ISP regulation. I know three british families in my area who pay to use TunnelBear to listen to BBC radio. I don't know if the discrimination happens at ISP or BBC level, but from the same how-to-link, the BBC disclose their focus re the iPlayer app:
> The BBC iPlayer Radio app is not presently available to download outside the UK at launch. We are focused initially on optimising the app for UK Licence Fee payers.
In the US I use the VPN TunnelBear for $5/month. Select England as your location and you can watch Dave. If you have Netflix over 50% of all your selections change to English shows, including panel shows!
Here is the link to the live broadcasts Chan 4 live But the election coverage is listed as Programme Not Available even with Zenmate for me in the USA. I guess you are right about having to wait for the youtube clips. I hope someone will make a "best of" that I can watch tomorrow. Thanks OP for the heads up.
I'm not sure if/when episode 2 will surface. It featured Richard Osman and Liza Tarbuck. You can try Zenmate.
The link to episode 1 the other day inspired me to finally give in and try Zenmate. I only use Chrome once in a blue moon anyway. Since then I've watched every episode of Great Comic Relief Bake-off.
I was drawn in by episode 3 having David Mitchell but I ended up staying for Mary Berry. She's delightful.
Watching the Darts shows is both entertaining and instructive. I had no idea darts was such a thing. I mean, I knew it was a thing amongst the Brits but I had no idea it was this big a thing.
So... yeah, just give in and try out Zenmate. It'll have to do until the BBC just let me buy a license or I emigrate.
ah yeah maybe. I'm US. This is the link for season 1 for me just in case https://www.amazon.com/Fundraiser/dp/B00BS4N946/ref=sr_1_2?s=instant-video&ie=UTF8&qid=1497389533&sr=1-2&keywords=veep
Do you know he actually has an album out? From yeeeeears ago. It was full of songs based on his characters from Big Night Out. My personal favourite is "Summer of 75"...
