ragr (the adjective form of ergi) ("willing or inclined to play or interested in playing the female part in sexual relations with another man, unmanly, effeminate, cowardly")
rassragr ("arse-ragr")
Basically it would be calling someone a homosexual. I guess a modern way to say it would be to call someone a faggot.
Homosexuality was not regarded by the Viking peoples as being evil, perverted, innately against the laws of nature or any of the other baggage about the concept that Christian belief has provided Western culture. Rather, it was felt that a man who subjected himself to another in sexual affairs would do the same in other areas, being a follower rather than a leader, and allowing others to do his thinking or fighting for him. Thus, homosexual sex was not what was condemned, but rather the failure to stand for one's self and make one's own decisions, to fight one's own fights, which went directly against the Nordic ethic of self-reliance.
Stephen Fry is gay, so obviously he wouldn't like this.

Yeah, i think I have them. Not sure if it's all of them, but I think it was just A through J when I downloaded them initially.
MASSIVE EDIT:
Here are individual files for download. Should be A-J plus 4 pilots.
Also, this is up on your local kickass website that you may use for downloading things...
If you're using google chrome, download zenmate, which allows you to pretend you're in another country, then you can watch it. I am sure there are similar add-ons for all browsers
I usually check the list here.
Hope this helps.
Watched the XL on iPlayer last night (thanks TunnelBear. Ross Nobel has been good on every QI he's been on, and I'm happy to see he's being added to the rotation more, and of course you have to love Dara.
That is true of the full install of Hola.
It is not true of the Hola Unblocker browser plugin (which is what /u/pluskavec linked to). The plugin is also available for Firefox.
They pop up on BBC iPlayer like a half hour after they are broadcast. So just fire up your favorite proxy extension like Hola or Zenmate, then simply watch it straight from the source!
They stay up for about 10-14 days each episode, it's the best quality you'll find online, and the fastest. I prefer it a thousand times more than having to worry about YouTube taking them down (at least for new episodes).
Literally nothing. Not how torrents work. At most they will download bits of the torrent you download, but even that can be avoided. It is totally normal for other peers to download from you for the specific torrent, that's how it's designed. Torrents in themselves (not some torrent websites, though again with something like ublock for ads, even those are at minimal risk), have no risk of 'hacking' or whatever if the torrent itself is safe.
https://www.fosshub.com/qBittorrent.html?dwl=qbittorrent-4.2.5.dmg download and install this then from the File menu of the program you installed choose add a magnet link, copy paste the following:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:C12B561563BEBCB7E7A6787D1DC2CB639C6D3A55&dn=QI%20Series%201-10%20Season%20A-J%20%20mp4%20--%20XL%20UNCUT%20HDTV%20720p%20if%20availabl&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2F9.rarbg.to%3A2920%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.opentrackr.org%3A1337&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.internetwarriors.net%3A1337%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.leechers-paradise.org%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.pirateparty.gr%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.cyberia.is%3A6969%2Fannounce

the file names "15 _ 129033 _ 0.txt" are season# _ theFileID# from https://www.addic7ed.com, pulled from the parent folder
so that mess translates into "s15 - oceans"

yes, this is very silly - i expected to search these, go "oh yea, that episode", and then go about my day
YT is always at least a little lower quality than Netflix or BBC iPlayer, due to YT's compression algorithms. With an extension like Zenmate, it's just as easy to watch from an official streamer like iPlayer or Netflix, so I figure why wouldn't I?
I feel it's silly to watch shows from unofficial sources, when the official sources are equally as convenient; it's not iPlayer or Netflix is giving you commercials anyway. Plus I'm sure Netflix gives BBC a kickback for views, and I'd rather support my favorite show than some random youtuber.
Yank here as well, but I don't have any issues like that. It's quite easy to get the newest episodes directly from BBC's website almost immediately after they air (no commercials either). Steps: 1) download a proxy switcher of your choice as a browser extension. I use Zenmate lately since Hola has been hit or miss, but there are tons of others out there. 2) in the extension change your location to UK 3) enjoy watching new QI episodes directly from the BBC same day they air! As well as older episodes blocked by YouTube. 4) put on sunglasses, and from now on say "fuck you!" any time a website tries to tell you what you can and cannot watch; they don't know who they're dealing with.
And no one mentioned Winston Churchill's alcohol <em>'prescription'</em>? ;]
just finished whaching it good episode, anyways, to get the BBC iplayer to work on here in the US or elsewhere just get this FireFox addon and use a UK proxy IP form here check the country make sure it a UK IP.
also this paper: "Sleep in the Platypus" is a for-pay paper.
Hola works... I am Canadian but have been slowly working my way through all 20 seasons of Time Team on Channel4.
p.s. For Channel 4, Disable Adblock, click play and once the first commercial starts playing re-enable Adblock to avoid having to watch all the commercials.
It's been said before but I have been using the TunnelBear on my Laptop since it started. There is a FREE version but I am paying for it because it gives me peace of mind anywhere I want... US, Canada, UK, Italy and many more...
That's fine if you prefer it, just the way I figure if you're using hola anyway (I use Zenmate lately bc I feel the proxies are faster) then iPlayer is just as many clicks away.
And just for sake of example, there was an episode this or last season where they played a very low tone, I forget the reason Fry was showing it, but he commented that "if you have poor speakers on your television you might not hear it". That was one episode I decided to try on YouTube, and in the best quality listed, 480p, I had to rewind it, I could just barely make it out. I went back and watched it from the source on iPlayer, and the difference was real.
Quality does matter imo, it's fine if you think YT is easier for some reason, but even if it were more difficult I'd still go for iPlayer over YT for shows whenever possible.
