Aesop was truly inspiring and poetic. Here's one of his best fables:
> A gurl was walkin2 skewl wit her bf n they were crossin da rode.
> she sed "bbz will u luv me 4evr"
> he said "NO..""
> da gurl cryed N ran across da rode b4 da green man came on the sine.
> boy was cryin and went to pic up her body.
>she was ded.
> he whispered 2 her corpse "I ment 2 sey i will luv u FIVE-ever..." (dat mean he luv her moar den 4evr)

This is easily the worst I've ever seen. I don't know what's more surprising--Bruce Wayne's transformation into Spiderman or the appearance of "Dr. Jackstraw."
My favourite, not entirely sure if it was stupid or not, was this Coventry City fan bemoaning a 0-0 draw away at Crewe Alexandra.
Normally this would be understandable, but the thing is he left 2 mins before the end, Coventry scored two late goals and won 2-0.
BBC Cambridge have tweeted a picture of the incident as it happened fortunately with a mechanic obscuring her, but showing exactly where the pretty sharp edged trailer lip has hit her - on the front of he helmet, possibly where the visor opening is. Not good.
update: they've now posted an audio clip of it happening: audio clip. That's definitely the anti stall kicking in.
A Man U fan on 606 giving his thoughts on the matter.
Bravo that man.
Does anyone have the links to the audio reads of these stories?
They were hilarious, but alas, I have lost them.
Edit - Found one of them: http://audioboo.fm/boos/447591-i-will-love-you-five-ever
Appologies for the long link, I don't know how to shorten to an easy to click word or two.

Edit3 - Ok, ok, last edit. I just found my new favorite one. I don't think I've laughed so hard in months. Duke reading the description of Family Guy that was on some sort of Japanese Family Guy DVD: http://audioboo.fm/boos/456923-moot-the-griffins#t=0m26s
No. I'm a bit reluctant to explain this again, because every time I have I've been downvoted, despite actually being German myself.
Just go here:

It's often a bit difficult to find English equivalents for vowel sounds, because of the different accents.
My best estimation of the vowel sound for Kroos would be "horse" in an English accent (American would be totally wrong here).
Reus is a bit harder to phonetically translate. I'd probably go for "ohh-eee", but fast so it's all as one. Oh, and of course the "r"s in both names are rolled at the back of the throat, but I've found trying to teach English-speaking people this consonant sound near-impossible.
It was one of those facebook stories that does the rounds in High School circles. This guy seems to do voices for parodies (mostly involving Adventure time), here is his audioboo account: http://audioboo.fm/boos/490888-the-pop-tart-tragedy Just a warning, some of his recordings are very much NSFW (DO NOT LISTEN TO NIGHTMARE TIME W F&J)

Mobile mic. At work, so I can't be cussin. So here is a rough draft for nosleepaudio.
Other than minor bits of awkward grammar, I can't complain!
It's a bit tenuous, a tweet of a rumour from a podcast, but I think it's pretty clear he's leaving now and here they make it clear that a contract has been signed already. Not sure how accurate or trustworthy this necessarily is but BMC would be an interesting choice.
He's a shit journalist anyway.
Too easily rattled and either crawls up the arse of the person he interviews or is obviously disgusted by them.
EDIT - This guy knows, http://audioboo.fm/boos/1785136-caller-attacks-nolan-you-lost-the-plot
Here's an interview with Strategic director of children and young people's services at Rotherham Council, Joyce Thacker:

It is a fantastic opportunity to see just how fucking stupid these people are.
Uh huh, they say they'll wage a long war, then they call for a ceasefire within 12 hours. And they did not announce this ceasefire on their state TV either. A ceasefire around the time that they can't do much anyways? I believe that's called going to sleep.
Related to Libya: A warning to a Libyan ship/s not to leave port from the US Air Force.
And fascinating unconfirmed rumor: Muammar Gaddafi is not in Tripoli, he fled 8hrs south to Gadamis (on the Libya/Algeria border). The location could be wrong. But I can believe that something is not right if all his speeches after Tuesday have been conducted over the phone. Also hearing in that rumor that assorted useful members of the Libyan government are closer to Sabha than Tripoli.
Unrelated, if you have the Google Earth program, just look at Libya. Tons of Panoramio pictures on there. Fascinating.
>They don't want him for questioning
He is already arrested in absentia and is definitely wanted for questioning and allegedly ALSO indicting IF as the prosecutor claims to expect, he does not acquit himself in the questioning.
"Subject to any matters said by him, which undermine my present view that he should be indicted, an indictment will be lodged with the court thereafter."
The prosecutor would like this all to happen in Sweden and refuses to give any substantial account as to why
Additionally, they have in the past lied by saying that questioning in London would be illegal.

Yeah, mine too I think. I caught the tail-end of something about this on Radio4 a few days ago, the presenter talking to a Bomber Command veteran who had spent his life savings creating a memorial at (I think) Beachy Head. When asked how he felt about the bombing of civilians he said that (paraphrased) it was Total War, they looked on the bombing of civilian workers the same way that they looked on the bombing of munitions and engineering factories, but if you blew the roof off of a factory it would be repaired and back in production within a week. If you killed a civilian working in the factory however you decreased the amount of production capability. That sounds really callous to us, but for someone who lived in fear of death on every flight and had seen friends and family die at German hands I guess it's understandable.
Edit: Link to the Radio4 interview.
Just for information, this was featured on BBC Radio 4's Today programme. That's millions of people you've reached with this. A heck of an achievement.

Is it possible that the witness in Fox news is the same as this one? voice
In that link it was the woman who called the police, but if you hear the background noise, there is a guy's voice talking to her and there is someone named 'Jeremy' whom she told to get away from the window after the gunshot. Then she went upstairs. The witness in that fox news link also said he was downstairs and then he moved upstairs.
But seriously, I think most bronies are probably ambivalent to clop. We are on the internet, after all. It's just that, when someone is so vehemently against something, they speak out against it, but tend not to speak when they don't care. We all have our weird kinks, and it's good that you don't run away from yours!

Hmm. It's "lik" for The Pop-Tart Tragedy, but "like / lyk" for I Will Love You Five-Ever. Me, I'm a fan of lik.
It's from a Facebook chain-mail posted to Reddit, wonderful because it was so awful. Here is Duke reading it, I take no responsibility for this.
Guardian: Feb 18 1221 (GMT) – Egypt: Jack Shenker is in a "baking hot" Tahrir Square in Cairo for today's "day of victory" demonstration.
He says some estimates place the crowd there at over 1 million people, and says it is certainly just as packed as it was during the 18 days of protests that preceded Hosni Mubarak's exit.
Jack listened to the speech made by Yusuf al-Qaradawi – seen as a father figure of the Muslim Brotherhood – and says it was well received:
>He was making particularly non-sectarian points. He went out of his way to praise the role Coptic Christians played in Tahrir, the way in which Christians and Muslims prayed together and protected each other. As a man who is not particularly known for his non-sectarian views, that was very welcome.
Jack said he interviewed a Coptic Christian protester after the speech who said he had been "reassured" by the speech and was not worried about the prospect of an Islamist-dominated Egyptian parliament in the future as he felt sure there would be no oppression of the Christian minority.
Audio by Evan Hill: http://audioboo.fm/boos/265838-evan-hill-from-cairo-update He is confirming security forces entered Al Jazeera office, ordering to stop any live shots.
Heh, possibly jojoba (said out loud in the voice of Billy Connolly), or perhaps carnauba.... But it's true, he's one of the pipe makers with a luxuriant hair.
Which, er, was edited.
Also, did you miss all the times when the union took action to improve health and safety on the railways not just for people who work on them, but also the traveling public? Granted, sometimes it wasn't always very well reported, and sometimes it may have been a bit of a spurious cover for another dispute, but there was always an understanding that public transport is there to serve the public and (strikes aside) the union's actions were also to improve their lot.
Go listen to this interview:
And then think about all the people whose live's Lance has attempted to ruin for having the temerity to talk about his doping.
Then think about this, Livestrong is about cancer awareness, not research. So he actually diverted half a billion dollars away from research and into awareness. Are you aware of Cancer?
In addition he used the foundations money to pay for his travel (to promote "awareness" of cancer), and he also used it to pay for lobbyists to lobby on his behalf to make his drug case dissappear, and to have USADA stopped, and on and on.
Here is what actual cancer researchers (including a Nobel Laureate) think of a funding organization set up by Lance, they are resigning:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/14/us/more-scientists-quit-texas-cancer-research-institute.html
The best thing Lance could do for cancer would be to go away and never come back.
Maybe we can roll the piper of the month thing where we highlight a user into this. Any other ideas for the podcast. Winged_Waffle mentioned audioboo, and we could give it a trial run for this Sunday. Any other ideas?

Here's my attempts. Script follows:
"In the year two thousand eleven, Ponyville launched the last of Equestria's deep space probes. Aboard this compact starship, a lone astronaut, Captain Applejack "Buck" Rogers, was to experience cosmic forces beyond all comprehension. In a freak mishap, her life support systems were frozen by temperatures beyond imagination. Friendship Three was blown out of its planned trajectory into an orbit one thousand times more vast. An orbit which was to return Applebuck Rogers to Equestria, five hundred years later."
Uh, hey there. I've been fooling with spontaneous voice stuff for a year or two. Some nights I am golden, other nights I'm a bit lackluster. Based on the tiny links below, do I suck?
Also, do you have recommendations for places online/IRL that can use voice talent? (I'm in the AGS homemade adventure game forums looking for work. I post on reddit every once and again, and I like me some 4chan. Karaoke's pretty fun too, but only with proper practice. I've done open mic nights a few times, and even got sorta good at it until my broke-ass hiatus started.)
Other than chugging coffee, quitting/lessening smoking, and magicking up more creativity; where should I be going to further myself? (I'm in a college town on the east coast. VO coaches may be at the college, but I think they're more focused on the theatre and drama that way.)
**Derp, just read other replies. Will still take what you got. I'm awake for a while if you want to test me on a script?
Thought you all might enjoy. This is comm traffic from March 20th. Looks like someone was trying to get out of dodge.
If there are any other revolution junkies out there, you can follow @FMCNL (on twitter) to get updates on military inbound/outbound traffic for Libya. Neat stuff (no, @FMCNL is not my account).

I did miss the "in" the sport. I would disagree though, there are people in the sport who did not like what they saw. There are people in the sport who lance and his buddies have harmed.
Christophe Bassons quit cycling as a direct result of Lance telling him to (among other reasons).
There are many other people who have not survived in the highest echelons of the sport due to their anti-doping stance, but they are still in the sport. I'd be shocked to hear that all of these people respect George. He has always stood firmly behind Lance, only talked with the threat of perjury and jail time over his head, and even now adds in qualifiers about all the good Lance has done into every public statement he makes.
Go listen to this interview with a former teammate of Lance's and see if you think he respects George for backing up Lance:
He led a small protest of athletes outside Nike's headquarters to demand that they drop him.

It shouldn't, the guy does a lot of over dramatic readings of popular stuff on the internet. I promise that this is the worst of the bunch. Here is a link to all of his work: http://audioboo.fm/Duke?page=1
Something else you can use for this is Play My Code, which I've been developing. It allows you to write and edit games directly in the browser.
A couple of the users there are kids learning to code; some have joined up with their parents who help them, and one user built a spelling game for his 2 year old son.
Just today a teacher in the UK posted impressions from school children on using it (here).
Like everything worthwhile in my life, I found it on Reddit. Haha, I guess some guy with the handle Duke made it... sorry for the shit answer, but that's all I know.

I picked the spider since I raise them (and snakes), but the fanfic adds an extra layer of wonderment.
Well... I got good days. Espresso makes things happen. Here's the results from the most recent amateur chan-party I got involved in.
If you have ideas for improvised amateur foolishness, I'm totally down. Anything pony related is also welcome!
Well, for me at least, it was a great 8 month run. At it's best it was spontaneous improv. At it's worst it was camwhoring catfights. We started on /b/ with random threads that would 404 too quick. We moved to r9k for a slower board and we settled in good there. We had music threads where people would sing or play guitar or ancient medieval instruments or whatever. We had request threads for movie/video game quotes. Moaning threads were our bread and butter, but we had some hilarious stuff for a while. When r9k was deleted, we tried to regroup on soc. For like two months there was a steady influx of newfolks that kept threads interesting and alive. Last I checked it was all dirty talk threads where the preteens bitched at each other.
(http://m.soundcloud.com/stoferin/spacewizzards) was the best file I ever had. Most of our vocaroo stuff gets deleted off of their servers in 6 months or so, but audioboo has a decent archive. My shitty account is http://audioboo.fm/StofDupe but its got links to just about everyone I saw post from that site. Smalltime and prudence were always my favorite performers. Oh, and I had an Abortive attempt at an archive here on reddit. R/vocarista if you're looking.
Anyway yeah. We were awesome on r9k. Moving to soc turned out to be a bit of a death sentence.
Couple of stumbles/slurs on my part. I'm practicing for r/nosleepaudio. Feel free to critique me.
Just one thing: Your story feels very conversational. Try reading the story aloud and see if phrases like "My brother would get inexplicably angry, and my mom would get inexplicably scared, etc, etc" feel natural when you say them. Great stuff, but it feels like it could use a second draft.
