The BBC pays about £7 million (around $10 million) per season of Top Gear. Netflix pays about $9 million per episode of Marco Polo. I'd think snapping up these three and giving them a million bucks an episode to drive subscriptions would be a no-brainer.
Hell, I'd pay $10 a month just to have a Top Gear channel on my Roku. Motor racing coverage, weekly car news, Top Gear specials and reruns available whenever I wanted.
(Brits, please correct me if my placement of the £ symbol was wrong.)
This may sound crazy, but see this for yourself. New stig's eyebrows and stature sure looks like old stig under there...
EDIT: Slash is 5'10", Ben Collins is 6'2", so the height matches too... and 6'2" is abnormally tall for racing drivers
What if the public "firing" of Ben Collins was an elaborate head fake to throw people off? We know that he still is involved with Top Gear after all. Wouldn't that be a brilliant trick that now if Ben Collins was accidentally seen around the track, no one would assume he was the stig? Hiding in plain site if you will... /tinfoilhat
Congrats to your grandma for 90 years!
Edit: Oh, and MS advises you disable your gadgets.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p03rds6x/top-gear-series-4-episode-5?seriesId=p03jw1zh It's the thumbnail for this, I just used inspect element to get the picture as a higher quality image
Unfortunately I don't know of any good free alternatives, but I recommend TunnelBear. It does the same thing as Hola and also has the benefits of a VPN. Its like $5 a month and works on PC and mobile.
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/easily-bypass-youtubes-regional-filter/
their video player is pretty weird though, but its actually a youtube video (incase its just weird, but still not working i gave you the above link)
This would be it, I think: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/9567745/top_gear_s18_e5_saab_tribute/
Around minute 48. Anyway, as /u/evanhobbesyates mentions, it is the 5th episode of the 18th season, on a Saab tribute which is awesome.
I paid for the VPN service(s) I was using. I used to be able to set my location to the UK or US to watch shows on Netflix but they must've blocked it after a while. Got a stern warning one day not to spoof my IP or whatever the message said. It was the same with Amazon. I tried watching The Grand Tour earlier than the release date here in Norway, but they wouldn't let me because of the VPN.
I've tried TunnelBear and NordVPN. NordVPN was the better out of the two in my experience. A lot quicker speeds and it had the ability to swap between servers in the background.
I tried some free ones when I was in secondary school and had no money. They were utter shit and probably not secure at all. With the user most likely being the product when it's free and all that.
If all my options are out I'll just torrent it. Nothing's going to come of that anyway.
>...rumors of an upcoming UK episode being involved with US.
It's more than a rumour. If you watch the 'Evening with Top Gear' interview special, there's a very brief clip of it.
[EDIT] Here's a link to the clip in question in the midst of 'Evening with Top Gear', at the 46m12s mark. It's all of 9 seconds long, but consider yourself spoiler-warned.
Also, from this post just over a week ago on Rutledge's instagram, it doesn't seem like they know yet.
Top Gear is Simulcasting to every single country this time around. So if you have BBC America then you can watch it sometime around... 4 in the afternoon? Or you can download Hola and just access them thru BBC iPlayer
I would advise against using Hola!
Here's a link from 2016
but the principles still apply.
To be honest, with ANY free VPN you are the product. A service like NordVPN is only about $2 a month if you get it for a long enough time and will not sell your service, and as a bonus will keep your data private too.
I copied their trip, down to the jacket back in 2009. i was by myself, and got to do alot of weird things. For example I went to a wedding (was invited and knew noone!)
I actually wore the jacket for chinese new ye ar (I'm greek) and it actually looks awewsome. https://instagram.com/p/zTU2TKmBmZ/?modal=true

my flickr album of my trip!
Good episode... End segment was a bit cheesy, but it got a few cheap laughs out of me. And it couldn't overshadow how good the Corvette/Cayman test was and how well produced the LaFerrari test was. I don't know if the video editors of Top Gear ever read these threads but if they do... Excellent work!
Also if any American's are trying to watch the episode, I'm using the Zenmate add-on for Chrome and it works great! Then you can just use the BBC iPlayer.
Tomorrow, Saturday the 27th for Part 1, Sunday the 28th for Part 2
yeah, do what the above commenter said and use Hola extension or Zenmate for Chrome, and you'll get the new episodes on BBC iPlayer INSTANTLY after they air in te beat HD quality you can find, commercial free. I freaking love iPlayer, it totally negates the reason for watching on YouTube or other video sites in compressed "not as hd" quality.
Hey OP, I had a similar problem because I have a base MacBook with 250GB. Just bought a 2TB portable external drive from Best Buy for $130. I'll try to grab the link for you.
Edit: Found it, and sorry I got it on sale. It's $150 now, which is still a great deal. Here's the link.
K, made the clip, and uploaded it to YouTube and they blocked it. So it's up on tinypic/here. if it stops working let me know and I'll make a torrent or something.
I now watch on TV but when I couldn't and .mkv wouldn't work for me I downloaded CCCP on my old computer. This made it work perfectly fine but this was some time ago. On my new laptop, VLC opens .mkv files perfectly fine.
You could still try though - http://www.cccp-project.net/
It's not just Top Gear.. Most BBC America programs are sliced down as well.
Consider the beloved Dr. Who, .. True BBC episodes are 60min long.. In the US they're 45-50min long to allow for commericals. Over the course of a given season americans are missing out on 2 hours per season of awesome stuff from the BBC shows they know and love.
The only way to fly is to go to and buy a Brit Proxy. Then configure Firefox and use the \iplayer and enjoy every last second of British TV goodness.
Just a heads up, you probably should switch from using Hola
I use Zenmate now and it works just as well
Republican Party Reptile, 1987:

It's not put the same way I did but you can read between the lines easily
The closest I can find is that it's actually a retelling of an Indian story of Akbar and Birbal where instead of a heated floor it's rising water in a well/pond where the mother monkey standing on child so that it can live.
Story found here if link doesn't work it's story 60 I believe

This article says there is no yellow function when going from red to green, but that there is when going from green to red. Which is the system we have in America. I'd imagine if there was a period of yellow always between red & green it would be impossible to tell what color the light was about to change if there was no traffic.
I found Jeremy's M1 drive here. The drag race was against the lower-end Porsche and Lotus. Still impressive.
After re-watching it I still like the M1 even though it came up short in this race.
I'd be willing to bet that at least some of those are available, but in a different country. It's just a matter of finding out which one(s), and using a VPN based in that country. Try http://www.canistream.it/
That's a shame, because if you don't watch this docu. you're missing out on what is a genuinely brilliant documentary, regardless of who the presenter is.
You can try downloading a ~700 MB XVID of it here.
Or there's a 1 GB .torrent of it here.
From season 19 episode 2 around 43 minutes in, if you have hola installed it should allow you to view it from anywhere
It can be watched on iPlayer. Past that it'll cost ~£5/month.
I've been binging the series on iPlayer over lunch each day - great to see how the show develops over the years.
In the first few years, they were really focussed on which particular engine was the best to pick in the model they were reviewing, how easy it was to fold the seats down in the back, and which manufacturers had specific deals each week. Slowly but surely the arseing-about crept in and the chemistry gelled - which is funny as the excellent behind-the-scenes book covering the live tours showed how much they got on each others nerves, had petty jealousies and fell out all the time.
Also interesting to watch the fashions and hair change, along with their views on diesel, EVs, and being gay.
Looks like it spoils in 42 days. I definetly would not want to be president if I had to go through a blood donation every month or so.
Haven't checked, but my guess is it's probably Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent) which is on his classic Apollo : Atmospheres and Sountracks album.
If not, you can always try using Shazam app to find it for you.
I have no clue where that original torrent is at since that was 10 years ago
This is the one I downloaded recently. Don't think it is 576i but it's still pretty solid quality
Both TG and the NYT sacked the car in their review by being less than truthful or inferring that the car doesn't get the advertised MPC (miles per charge?) it is supposed to.
With Top Gear they put in some joke segments that showed them pushing the car to the garage, and other things implying the car wasn't as good as promised. This turned out to be less than truthful as the car had a full charge the whole time or something along those lines. This led to a big spat between Tesla and the BBC with Tesla filing a law suit claiming they were lying about the range. More Info
Then you have the NYT article that said the Tesla S wouldn't make the trip from Boston to DC using the network of super chargers that were setup along the route. The article the NYT published was shown to be a complete lie after Tesla's CEO posted the raw data from the trip to their blog.
So Tesla won't give any cars to either entity because they got shat on by them. They don't want to take the promotional time and money to give a car to test only to have people either make fun of the car, or publish lies because they don't like electric cars.
Unless you have been invited to iptorrents.com , my link won't help you. If you do have an account there, just search for Ultimate Top Gear Pack 1989-2015
the tribute is on iplayer, here is the link if anyone wants it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p09cgpdj/top-gear-a-tribute-to-sabine-schmitz
The Sabine tribute is on iPlayer for those who can view it:

Last night's was the first ep of the new season (28). The "Christmas" special was driving accross Nepal in City cars.
It's still on the iplayer mate - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000crsk/top-gear-nepal-special
Really? Because I trust the build quality of an established company with years of experience more than some startup. Oh, and build quality means more than safety, like the 'slightly disappointing interior quality' or the issues Consumer Reports have had with their Model S.
I stream it through my PS3 with PS3 Media Server. Basically you download any format you want to your PC, download the PS3 Media Server program and then stream it to the PS3 through your network.
Works for any format and any bitrate (although I have a wired connection so not sure how wireless would work with high-bitrate files).
I know I've heard them use the same song in a previous episode, I'll update if I can find it.
Edit: I'll be damned I actually found it. 'Spectres in the fog'. Also from S16E3.
It wasn't the NIN version it was acoustic like the Cash version. Just sounded different to me. I guess it's the real versions of the songs however... I found this nifty site that tracks the tunes on every episode. http://www.tunefind.com/show/top-gear-uk/season-21/17057
Prime Video launched as a separate service two years ago or something like that. https://www.primevideo.com/
If you just want to binge everything you can probably do it in the trial period if they still offer it.
Do note that season 1 isn’t great. Feels too forced.
Not on the list there but last week I watched the episode with James Blunt for the first time in years and I forgot how funny he was. Then, strangely enough, I found out that he is the SIARPC for next week's episode. Hopefully he'll be just as funny again.
Wonder if he's still selling his sister on ebay ...
I normally just use media hint so I can use the BBC iPlayer and stream in HD after it airs. The HD version of the stream is usually up around 5 hours after it initially airs.
I've been using ZenMate recently (Canadian, watching US). So far they said that there isn't any invasive-ness to it all, and it's a tad slow to start, but it quickly maxes out my 25mbit line and gives me HD.
Their manifesto says they don't sell you or your connection either.
You can download a ~700 MB XVID of it here.
Or there's a 1 GB .torrent of it here.
Thanks
I went down a rabbit hole on VPNs and because I stream off of a Roku it seems like I need to set up a virtual router, and then set up a new Roku account (picking a country that's the same as the country where I want to appear to be in). (I looked into ExpressVPN - from what I saw Windscribe looks like it's suited for computers or phones/tablets, not streaming devices)
I guess I'm still a little confused - I'd like to be able to turn it on/off as I'm sure the libraries are not the same (also I'd like to see the difference between Canada, UK, and US).
I reinstalled it last month. I forgot how I found it but I'm damn happy. Mind, because it's quite old the Game Tools of the Galaxy S7 refuse to work with it.

IMHO BiglyBT is the best mobile client.

The last good version of Utorrent on the desktop was 2.2.1 and that's over 10 years old.
You'll need a VPN and qbittorrent. I recommend ProtonVPN because it has a free 1 week trial, no credit card required. Enable VPN, click the magnet link, open in qbittorrent and your computer will start downloading. It may take over 24 hours to download depending on your internet speed.
It depends to an extent. The actual building of cars etc is of course not them.
But the races are done for real. Of course the routes are all planned in advance and they know it'll be close but they don't know what the final result will be.
Note in these cases they will go back over the route and film all the external and cut away shots. So if you see a shot of the car driving down the road it'll likely not be one of the cast driving.
The road trips are similar. Yes there a lot of scripted parts and they know what they are doing and where they are going. Eg. In the Bolivia special Hammond rolling his car down a sand dune was of course planned. But they do actually do the journey they are saying they are doing. It's not to the extent of the likes of films where everything is faked.
Everyone interested in the background should read this And On That Bombshell: Inside the Madness and Genius of TOP GEAR https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1409165078/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Xy1uFbNHD9D0Y
Something reputable and with the ability to choose location comes at a price. As /u/Hexen-iwnl said, Hotspot Shield is good. Private Internet Access, too.
Might be cheaper than iTunes, and definitely easier than finding active/fast torrents. But, it won't get you that future-proof you talked about.
This doesn't work with Private Internet Access London or Southampton VPN's, the site know's I'm VPNing. Any way around this? Tried clearing cookies and it didn't help. Also is ZenMate a better VPN service? I've only been using a VPN for like a month and I went with PIA, but I don't know the pros and cons of other companies.
I did have an account with Private Internet Access for a year (roughly 50€ for 12 months) and I never really used it. For most things people use them for I already had free alternatives that worked just as fine or sometimes better.
It strikes me as inappropriate to recommend something like a VPN to someone who just wants to watch an episode of TopGear. If they'd have some grander use for a VPN, possibly they'd already have one or would have considered it already. A VPN is still one of the most frequently recommend solutions, which I find very odd.
You could use a VPN to trick Amazon into thinking you're accessing prime from the U.S. Private Internet Access is awesome and costs 40 USD for a year. I just started using it to access the BBC iPlayer from the U.S. Among some other things.. Totally worth it.
Private Internet Access etc. It's available globally and has proxies in loads of countries; US, Canada, UK, France, Holland, Sweden, Australia, Hong Kong........
The free Comodo firewall comes with a free proxy for use on unsecured wi-fi hotspots but I've never used it and have no idea where it comes out.
For viewers outside of the UK wanting to get the stream from BBC iPlayer, I can highly recommend Private Internet Access. Watched it live this afternoon from Canada. No buffering at all.
Here
Scroll down to BBC 2 at 12PM PST/1PM Central and you can watch the show live.
If you're all about watching it at your own pace so you can rewind and stuff, then you're stuck with torrents.
When I watched it this past weekend, it was in standard def, not HD and certainly not grainy crappy 240, or something.
I use TunnelBear when I want to stream Spotify when I'm in the Caribbean for school, but I'm not sure how it works on other sites. But give it a shot.
The people of /r/topgear don't plan on doing anything shady like you and your illegal activities, like me, we use it to watch BBC iPlayer, 4oD (Derek) and others.
Because HMA VPN doesn't protect a hacker, your belief is "If you use a VPN to watch iPlayer, you must do other illegal things" just makes you sound like a fucking idiot.
Go back to your script kiddie forums and IPredator VPNs.
Fucking loser.
This is what I had in mind, yes. 55:56 - 56:31 is Hans Zimmer - Ride from The Lone Ranger soundtrack. At least I think it is. Listen to sample HERE
It is included with US Prime here
Was watching a little bit earlier today and will finish it off in the next day or two.
That may be a basket where you toss your hamster's dirty laundry?
"Too fast to race" (sorry couldn't find an imdb or wiki link) - It's about the Group B rally era, and the absolutely insane cars. Some great footage!
Also, Gumball 3000: The Movie - A 2003 documentary that follows the Gumball rally of that year, there's probably other documentaries/footage out there of later Gumballs, but this one is really well done, plus it's narrated by Burt Reynolds, and Ryan Dunn was participating.
They didn't see the plate (or even the car, outside of a scout and a Porsche mechanic) before they got to Argentina, as the car was shipped there separately. When they saw the plate they knew it could be problematic but had no time to change it.
Well worth reading Evans' books. Much more substantive than Clarkson's "magazine clippings" and thoroughly entertaining to boot.
If you only have time for one, read the middle one. I found it engrossing and an excellent insight into someone that had it all, lost it and then got it again. If nothing else, you can't accuse him of living a dull life!
edit It's this one, to save you hunting: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0007345704
This sounds even more interesting than I thought! Thanks for replying. I checked out /r/RTLSDR such a good sub. I've been fascinated with signals from a young age. I see a great project in the future using my Raspberry Pi :) Is this what you're talking about?
Not really, Android streaming has worked for a while and they aren't going to proactively support Chromecast when it is the direct competitor to their own USB streaming stick, the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
I have this http://i.imgur.com/w1ZoZp2.jpg This isn't where I got it but it's the same thing http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IVZTDM/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00
Edit: Should be updated with the Piers Morgan some say
Ya I was looking as well and didn't see a BRRip. They have the extras up on that site I linked to above too which is cool(Dl'ing now).
I would rather have it on BluRay and even if it comes out at a later date on BluRay I will buy it. Although, I bought a region 2 Top Gear Bluray by accident from amazon.co.uk (before reviews were up to say it was region 2 only). Anyone in the UK want a Adventures Part 3 BluRay?
edit: After soem quick research the Bluray I bought won't play on a PS3, which I have. Link Still, anyone want this thing?
