This gif was captured from Amazon's Documentary Season, "Le Mans: Racing is Everything"
Amazon is currently running a promotion where Amazon Prime members can watch the 6-episode season for free.
I was in the middle of 4th episode when this occurred and felt the need to share their illustration while my WEC family. It has been slowed down to 80% of the original speed for visibility purposes.
T-Minus 8 hours until the start of LeMans!
Myself, I'm paying for SurfEasy, largely because it gets me Singapore (and therefore the YouTube Formula E world feed), and I bought a year of Eurosport Player.
Eurosport Player was cheaper than the WEC package, and it also gets me some other motorsports I'm interested in. And, I really didn't feel like buying the WEC app after that stunt.

What: install http://acestream.org, copy the link or id and Ctrl+V.
Streamable supports video files up to 10 minutes and up to 1 GB
Stremja only supports MPEG-4 (I don't know about other limitations)
Mixtape supports video files up to 100 MB
ImgTC doesn't seem to have any limits of codecs and duration (but it's the least polished of the four)
At this point you may try Dailymotion, but my guess is that content will be as proteced as it is on YouTube...
EDIT: another option would be MEGA (the cloud storage service), which allows uploaded content to be streamed
DeepL translation from French:
The list of LMP2 entries for the WEC 2021 season should not only include ORECA chassis. If Cetilar Racing will not be there with its Dallara P217 because of the GTE-Am program, a Ligier JS P217 is expected on the world stage.

A true enthusiast in the broadest sense of the term, Miro Konopka confirmed to Endurance-Info his intention to run his Ligier JS P217 for the entire championship. The Slovak team's last appearance with the Ligier dates back to the 2019/2020 season in the Asian Le Mans Series with a fourth place finish in the LMP2-Am.

The crew of the Ligier JS P217 will be announced at a later date. ARC Bratislava started 2021 with the Dubai 24 Hours with a fourth place in the GTX class for its yellow Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo. Next month, Miro Konopka will drive the new Ginetta LMP3 in the Asian Le Mans Series.

The Publisher document and font I used. I printed it out on decent photo paper. It'd be awesome to get a proper sign made but I've no idea where one could do that.

I'm living near Porsche and they brought out a little newspaper on the 2015 WEC. If you are able to understand German it's very informative.
this is a small camparison between the three Porsche challenging cars
Alternatives: some less popular streaming site like vimeo.com (unless it has a video duration limit), or maybe like this from the F1 subreddit? I think you can still get 200 GB for free via a promo.
Here’s the Amazon US link. Don’t pay more than $119.99 USD for it. It was out of stock from LEGO for a long time so people have a lot of posts for more than that, but it’s in stock again at the official source, so don’t overpay.
LMP1 qualifying cap (didn't plan to do this so missed GT1) in case no one ends up posting a better/full one:

Nope, that one last year came directly from the paid Eurosport Player, the links died months ago and new ones are protected in a better way.
There are some higher-quality Ace streams listed here, check them:

That's cool, thanks. He's been at Audi/Joest for a while, which is encouraging.
So:
#1 car: Duval, Kristensen, di Grassi, engineered by Justin Taylor
#2 car: Lotterer, Treluyer, Fassler, engineered by Leena Gade
And Howden Haynes is chief race engineer and technical director according to his LinkedIn profile.
Wonder how they'll play it next year? Presumably they'll need a new race engineer for #3 car - who engineered the #3 car at Le Mans this year?
On non-rooted Android this packet capture app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.greyshirts.sslcapture (saves plaintext file)
iOS: no idea.
Guesswork: so far (except for Le Mans) only the circuit name has changed in the links (take a look at Nurburgring links: http://paste.ubuntu.com/21058651/)
Packet capture, on Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.taosoftware.android.packetcapture then opening the .pcap file in Wireshark on computer because this app doesn't have a browsing feature.

Why be lazy, keep guessing and leave the possibility of wrong answers (you already got one) when you can do this.
And here are a couple of my favorite shots so far.
If there is any historic motorsport event anywhere near you, definitely go. The atmosphere was so laid back, the cars were so accessible. The sights, sounds and smells of this event will stay with me for a while. So good to see classics being thrashed like they were meant to be thrashed!
Love the art of the new Vaillant series. However it has been a pain to find in English the physical copies.
There are so far 3 of 6 issues published digitally in English https://www.comixology.com/Michel-Vaillant/comics-series/79674?ref=c2VhcmNoL2luZGV4L2Rlc2t0b3Avc2xpZGVyTGlzdC9zZXJpZXNTbGlkZXI
These guys have been doing some good work. The 2015 car is beautiful.
And if there's anyone who's gonna throw down 8 MJ, it's these guys. Rumor has it that they're twin-turbocharging their engine now, and twin thermal + frontal kinetic MGUs feeding a LiPol battery makes for one big beastly hybrid system.
... And it's just so sleek: https://instagram.com/p/zxFJ4ImtKT/?modal=true :) I'm certainly hoping they win Le Mans this year, and I think they can.
Now they just have to not screw up the livery.
Wet if using the datum we have.
Serious answer, looking at this. 20-10° with temps down to single digits as we get towards midnight. Longer night obviously, same chance of rain as June. bit more cloudy if I read this right though.
It doesn't seem like it, forecast says light rain in the afternoon (earlier today it said light rain in the morning). Looking at the doppler radar it doesn't seem likely any time soon: https://weather.com/en-GB/weather/radar/interactive/l/Nurburg+Germany+GMRP0402:1:GM#!
Racecar Engineering is a pretty technical magazine. I'm not sure LMPs specifically are a popular subject in actual academic papers but try searching many of those scientific article libraries if you have access to them.
There was someone here who was doing some sort of college/uni-level schoolwork about materials? on race cars. Maybe someone else remembers who it was and/or link to that post.
I'm using ProtonVPN and I'm able to stream through the official wec stream. Proton is incredibly secure, even their free version which just gives you lower priority, so it could potentially be slow depending on what server you use. They have a 7 day trial that let's you use the paid for version, so you will get full throughput and more countries that you can connect to.
I'm using Zenmate VPN at the moment successfully, went ahead and hooked the TV up with hdmi to pc. Many geoblock evading options should work, but I'm going to demand a season refund just out of principle. I want to support the series, why I sub every year, but if they don't want my money I'll happily watch someone else's unlisted livestream.
The most reliable methods all involve using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Usually it's a service that you pay for, and you download some kind of application that connects you with servers in other countries. Your internet traffic to your computer comes through this foreign server and allows you to watch videos that are normally blocked in the US. I can vouch for AirVPN as affordable and reliable.
Probably the most reliable method is to pay for and watch the racing through the official FIA WEC website. So that's another subscription fee. You'll use your VPN to connect and watch the race from any country other than the US or Canada, through their site.
Instead of the WEC website, you could use your VPN to purchase a Eurosport subscription. Eurosport web player will be streaming the race live, but I'm not sure if they will offer a race replay afterward like the WEC player will.

You vs. machine tl;dr:
> Since 1923 the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans has always used large sections of public road, it has long been part of its uniqueness, its charm, and indeed of the challenges it places on the race organisers, the competitors and the local population. The ACO confirmed to DSC that there has never been any serious attempt to convert or adapt the current 24 Hours of Le Mans track into a fully dedicated circuit ever since. The Syndicat Mixte des 24 Heures which is the public organisation in charge of managing large investments for the Circuit de la Sarthe would have to compensate businesses or inhabitants and likely pay for building alternative public roads should the ACO want to further privatise this part of the track. For all these reasons and without a major shift towards reliance on private funding to develop the track, the prospects of having a fully dedicated Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans anytime soon are extremely slim.
Not bad.

It is really easy to watch the replays on your PC if you know the URLs to the replays.
You can find them out via this app (Android) or just search this sub or google. I saw some links to a pastebin that contained the replay URLs of Silverstone.
The URLs for the Spa replays barely changed (silverstone in the URL was replaced by spa) but you have one more URL for Spa (race07) which contains the victory ceremony.
You can watch those replays with a program like MediaPlayerClassic or VLC or you can just download them (e.g. with jDownloader).
I downloaded all of them and merged the single race replays into one file (you can use mkvtoolnix for this). So I can watch them, even when the replays are not available online anymore.

Android version has not updated yet (last version Feb 3):

I'm pessimistic though and expecting this to mean some 30-sec clips of ongoing races...
For iOS I don't know, but in non-rooted Android you can use this. It sets up a fake VPN and saves all network traffic into a PCAP file which you can then move to computer and open in Wireshark.
But if you look at the urls... it may be that for e.g. Spa only thing that needs to be changed is the circuit name part so guesswork might be easier.
I bet they will eventually add encryption to these, just like they did for the live streams last year.
I use this one, and it was actually advertised on the sub at one point
Allows you to set alerts, auto converts time zones, pretty nifty little thing
oh dude. Definitely go!
This type of event is high up my list of things to keep an eye out for now, I had such a great time.
I don't know how it will be at Road America but for this event, we rocked up just before the lunch hour on Sunday, walked the paddock for the lunch hour and a bit and from then there were races every 40-50 minutes, 11 lap races with about 5-10 minutes dead time between each.
So I'd imagine you will want to walk around and see/shoot all the cars as well as walking the circuit and seeing the racing. The accessibility is amazing! It's so fun to be able to get pictures like this where I was standing 30 odd feet away and zoomed in to frame the car.
It's all car/trailer and no people! Imagine doing that at a car show or an F1 race. All for $30 (well, I bought my girl's ticket too but that was worth it).
Definitely go. You will love it.
You're not missing anything at the moment! Live timing works when not logged in at live.fiawec.com, but when I log in at members.fiawec.com the live timing grid is empty, the live text shows last year's Interlagos commentary, and none of the video feeds work.
I hope there's no F1 mechanic-like curfew on WEC web developers' working hours, because they've got a lot of work to do overnight!
http://grabilla.com/0540a-39327d12-558b-4467-a6a4-28e5b23a0a04.html
I am paid up and signed in to members.fiawec.com but the live timing screen isn't working at the moment.
Interestingly though, and new this year, the website DOES seem to be offering multiple cameras - unlike last year when it was just the app that did that.
It being only FP2 now and not having any streaming video outside of qualifying and the race we don't expect video now... but look at the buttons that appear: buttons for "Live" and then onboard cameras for the Toyota LMP1s #1 #2, Audi #7 and #8, Porsche #17 and #18 and then Strakka LMP2 #42, and the Porsche GTE #91 and #92 ...and a mystery #93.

I ordered new wheel hubs and a few dozen low friction 2 and 3 stud pegs from bricklink today, so hopefully that'll assuage as least a couple gripes about this set. I also dislike that it uses the same drivetrain as the 919 set, making it a RWD V4 instead of an AWD V6.
Depends on budget.
If you've got loads of dosh I'm sure most small LMP3 teams would be more than happy to set up a programme for you to eventually be driving their car.
If not then you can join the rest of us in trying to work out how to make a season in prototypes happen!
Sounds like you've not really done much racing up to this point. Are MX5's the best route for you? Would you not be better working your way through karting first?
Karts are far smaller so cheaper to transport, store and work on, have far fewer parts than a car and will be and feel a whole lot faster...

I have a VPN subscription (NordVPN in my case), so last year for Le Mans, I bought access to the official WEC stream and then logged into my WEC account while connected to my VPN to a UK server and watched it that way. You could do this for any of the races, of course.
I've been using PureVPN for a while now, it's been fairly decent. Doesn't affect speeds much, usually. Still can get downloads of 10-15 MB/s (that's 80-120Mbps, so right where my 100/10 connection should be). I do notice occasional slowness when connected, though. It's working right now for Q2, but I am getting stuttering in the video. Not sure if that's my VPN or if it's the feed itself.
Ok, I have PureVPN but it hasn't always worked for things like this in the past. So if I just purchase a subscription like normal and connect through, say, the UK, you think it will let me watch the race?
I'm using SurfEasy, which is Opera's VPN provider. (How you could pick your country in Opera before they changed over to just regions? It looks like they've now paywalled that part of things, basically, in the SurfEasy extension.) Perfectly happy with the performance.
I wouldn't use it as a way to evade tracking, mind you, but as a way to evade geoblocks on streaming video content, sure.
If you are in Europe, Eurosport is offering either one-day passes, or Le Mans passes through its online player, depending on your location:
If you are not in a Eurosport coverage area, I would suggest buying a subscription to a VPN service, and then use a server that is located in a Eurosport coverage area. That way you can use the Eurosport viewer (Eurosport doesn't care where your billing address is, just your IP address). I use AirVPN and have nothing but positive things to say:
> Should note that you don't need a playstation for PS vue. It works great through apps on ios/android
A lot of negative reviews on Android complain of channels being "mobile restricted." Not sure what's up with that.
I haven't read it yet. For the 917 I have the next book and enjoyed it a lot: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Porsche-917-Winning-Peter-Morgan/dp/1859606334 On Brian Redman autobiography you learn a lot about the 917 too, like the drivers not wanting to drive it at in the beginnings because they considered it a very dangerous car.
It's crazy how prices go up in this books when the editions finish.
Hm. What were you searching for? 12, 14 and 15 are available in BluRay and streaming through Amazon Video.
Thoinks! It's the largest triple monitor desk stand I could find for 24inch monitors. .......holy cow I forgot where I got it from.. I had to search the deep depths of the internet to find the correct one for me.
After about 10 minutes of searching I found it!
Okay. Maybe not that far in to the internet... but it felt like it.

i still can remember the f1 races... sadly endurance racing wasn't on my list then... Stibbich was a fantastic racer... raw speed... such a nice guy... i will never forget.
i love this book. http://www.amazon.de/Stefan-Bellof-Rainer-Braun/dp/3768816001/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410563538&sr=8-1&keywords=stefan+bellof
On Android (no idea about iOS): use this, start capture, open the WEC app and stream, stop capture, then save the .pcap file, open it in Wireshark (desktop) and Ctrl+F.
If rooted Android then there are better ways.
> Though by the looks of it you can just replace 'silverstone' in the link with 'spa' or something similar when the replays are released.
That is likely.
Yep. You should be able to get the world feed and all the in car cameras from the app. The app you are looking for is here FIA WEC
